My friend since birth is named Emmaline. She goes by Emma most of the time, but Emma is so popular that I really like the uniqueness of the her full name. I love it!!

I'm assuming it's taken from the film "Anne of Avonlea" and pronounced "Emma-line".

I like it too. It's on my list, except we have an Emma in the family already and I fear people would call her that the majority of the time.

I like it but I agree with the person who said they wouldn't know how to pronounce it. And similarly, if I heard someone say it, I wouldn't be confident on how to spell it.

I love it. Ben Folds has a beautiful song called Emaline (spelled differently, you are spelling it correctly) and it makes me think of that.

Suggestions for something similar? He likes Emma but feels this full version is "trying to hard."

How about just Emma then? Or Ella, or Amelia are sort of similar.

I love the name Emmaline. I would have used it for my daughter, but my hubby vetoed it as well. Maybe use Emma as a first name or use Emmaline as a middle name?

I really like Emma, and it goes well with our DD's name, but I'm not sure I want it as a stand-alone name. Nothing wrong with it, as I would call this baby Emma, but I feel it's super popular, so I also liked the option of a longer, full name to go with it.

My LO is Emeline. I wanted more Em-eline rather than Emma-line since friends had just named their LO Emma. I don't think it is trying too hard, maybe you can work on him.

My DD is Emaline (as @AndiPandi127 mentioned) named after the Ben Folds Five song "Emaline".
We obviously love her name. NNs are Emie and Ema. Most people get that it's Ema-line not leen.
