Rants / Raves / Symptoms: Raves -- I have a ton of baby stuff to put away. Rant -- I have a ton of baby stuff to put away I just feel like I have a ton of stuff to do and time is passing so quickly.
Upcoming Appointments: I just had one yesterday, so not for another two weeks.
Questions for the group: Are you practicing any relaxation techniques? I know it would probably benefit me, but I'm probably not going to.
Stolen GTKY: If you've chosen your baby's name yet, how did you choose? We have it narrowed down to two. Max (or Maxwell) Ryan or Myles Lee. We just liked the name Max and Ryan is my husbands great grandpa's name. Myles is my great grandpa's name and Lee is both my husband's MN and my brother's first name. We will decide when he is born! I felt like I was never going to choose a name. It's hard!
Week / Fruit: 32/bag of popped popcorn on babysizer
Rants / Raves / Symptoms: Officially back to not sleeping well at night, thanks to my hips, back, and bump. Yay.
Upcoming Appointments: 4/4. Apparently I'll be getting another NST scan that day...this time I'm bringing my wedge pillow with me for my back. Also, at the NST scan at my last appointment, the monitor showed that the contractions I thought I'd been having weren't actually contractions at all (most likely a combination of muscle spasms/baby pushing up against my diaphragm), and that the real ones (well, the real BHs) I wasn't feeling at all. So, yay, I guess? I have zero plans to tell my husband about this, though.
Questions for the group: I'll think of something later and post it here...
Stolen GTKY: If you've chosen your baby's name yet, how did you choose? I've always wanted to name a little girl Emily, and DH's eyes lit up when I said it and we both immediately agreed that was her first name. We had a little more trouble with the middle name....he wanted to go with Morrigan, and I wanted to go with Grace. We were originally going to go with Clarissa, after his mother, but she shot that down real fast when we told her (she always hated that name, and my BIL + FIL + GFIL all have the same name - she was very adamant that her third grandchild have her very own name). I finally decided to compromise with DH because I didn't want to keep arguing over it...I said that I'd accept it if it was Morgan instead of Morrigan, and if our next is a girl, I get to use Grace in whatever part of the name I want (if I still want to do so). DH was amenable to that plan, we shook hands on it, and we were done with the naming process.
Now, boy names, on the other hand, we definitely could not come to an agreement over...so thank goodness for little girls.
Rants / Raves / Symptoms: feeling good after going shopping and getting myself some clothes that fit! Baby girl is definitely getting in my way these days, bending over is definitely a challenge!!!
Upcoming Appointments: 4/1
Questions for the group:
Stolen GTKY: If you've chosen your baby's name yet, how did you choose?
we chose Clara Margaret. My husband always liked the name Claire but I wasn't sold and loved Clara so we went with that! We have traditional names for our boys (Charles and John) so we wanted to stick with that. Margaret is my husbands maternal grandmothers name and it sounds good with her first name
Rants / Raves / Symptoms: So many. Hands go numb/pins & needles, feet and legs and hands swelling, BH all the time, so uncomfortable at work, heartburn, etc, etc, etc.
Upcoming Appointments: Next week
Questions for the group: Can't think of anything
Stolen GTKY: If you've chosen your baby's name yet, how did you choose? Still working on mn but first name will be Henry after DHs grandfather
Rants / Raves / Symptoms: heartburn, swollen feet, hip/butt Charley horses. I'm generally alternating between feeling utterly exhausted and great/excited. Lots of lower back kicks lately (ouch).
Upcoming Appointments: Wednesday with my OB
Questions for the group:
Stolen GTKY: If you've chosen your baby's name yet, how did you choose? We always start with a list of names we like based on sound, visual aesthetic, and meaning then wittle it down from there. DS (George William) was named for DH's grandfathers with whom he was very close, and George was my first pick for first name. One of his grandfathers has the same name as my Dad which made it extra special (we used that name as the middle name). The first time around, I was a little disappointed we didn't get to use my maternal grandfather's middle name, Edward, so we set it aside for a middle name this time. DS2 will be Henry Edward-- we love the kingly tie between the sibling first names, the sound and flow with our last name, the strong meanings, and the family tie of both names (Henry is my other grandfather's middle name).
rant my dog very consistently wakes me up several times a night wanting under the blankets, not pregnancy related but I still needed to rant about it rave baby shower on Saturday!!! symptoms after I eat it hurts to bend over
gtky I gave DH more power with the boy name Luke Joseph. First name we just like and middle name is a family name on DH's side. We both love it, super easy. We had a girl name all picked out Leila Valentine but now I'm getting cold feet on it. Valentine is a family middle name (usually for men, but it's my middle name) and I love/loved Leila but DH's cousin actually used it for their daughter in December. DH is OK still using it but I'm back to making lists... Lana, Lark, Quinn, Cadence... I'm not sure, I hope we have a boy. Then I hope we have another boy so i can name him Jack Valentine
@js8812 I love Max Ryan! And we practice relaxing at yoga and baby class. I also practice at bed time, I pretty much just pretend I'm a pile of mush. I don't do well when someone is guiding me on "a relaxing journey" or otherwise talking me through it, too cheesy for me.
@EErin86Thank you! Luke was one of our favorite names, too. I probably would have chosen that, but we have a close friend name Luke and I didn't want him to get a big head that we were naming our child after him!
I think Quinn is a great name, too. Good luck! Names are hard..
Rants / Raves / Symptoms:Rave=I am still sleeping good! I want to sleep on my right side, but heartburn tends to be worse when I do. I am so surprised that I am still sleeping. I am hoping it continues. Symptoms=Baby was putting pressure on my tailbone earlier this week. It was really uncomfortable.
Upcoming Appointments: Had one today. I go back in two weeks.
Questions for the group: GTKY: If you've chosen your baby's name yet, how did you choose? There is a running theme to our boys' names. They are one-syllable and end with an "s." DS1 has a shortened version of my maiden name. DS2 has the last name of my childhood friend growing up. For DS3, we landed on Fitz Carmichael. My dad recently passed away and his middle name was Carmichael (he went by "Mike") and Carmichael was his mom's maiden name and the side of the family I grew up closest to.
@eerin86 Haha, we had a bunch of in-laws with us at the time, and they were all giving us name ideas and arguing what was better, etc. At one point Tony and I looked straight at each other, I asked him if he was willing to go down from Morrigan to Morgan, he said yes, I told him I wanted Grace for the next kid, he said yes to that as well, and we literally reached across the table and shook on it. And that was the last time anyone brought up name ideas to us.

That's top secret for now but it's a great story!
