The past two days baby girl has moved up and begun beating up my ribs. Has anyone found ANY relieving solutions to this? I cant find any position that is comfortable.
Baby's been in my ribs for probably a month now. The most comfortable position for me is leaned back, when I sit up straight or hunched over I can feel it more.
ETA: I came into this thread because I thought it was about baby back ribs. I love ribs.
I am currently leaned to my left side with my right leg extended and pillows on my left to keep me from tipping over. Even at this its only a very very slight relief. >.<
I also cannot pee with out my feet up now seemingly for the same reason. I now have to keep a stool for my feet cause its just too uncomfortable.

Yup LO has been loving my ribs (especially on my right side) for weeks now. He's not there 100% of the time but very often. I tend to either recline as much as possible to spread out the area or lean left if he's on the right to give us both some more room. Sometimes if he's really kicking away at them I'll do some stretching and moving (cat-cow seems to help) to try to get him to change positions.
As someone with a breech baby I'm so very jealous. Every time I leave the chiropractor's office I hope that soon I'll feel something near my ribs telling me LO has flipped head down

Stuck in the box!
I'm with you @Charla1224. I've had a few days of rib kicks over the past few weeks right after an adjustment which were very exciting. But mostly I have his head stuck up by my right ribs and he's been kicking my bladder and lower back. Hard.
I stick an ice pack right there and baby gets the hint. I thought reclining in 3rd tri wasn't good for baby's positioning, and could cause them to turn posterior or breech? No idea where I heard that, or if it is true or not, I was preggo with DS when I read/read it and that was 8 years ago.
I too hoped to see some BBQ food porn in this thread. I am disappoint.
Cat-cow, inversions, and child's pose are all great for making lots of space for baby and encouraging little one to adjust position, especially if you do those poses during a time that baby is typically active.
I googled this just this morning...one thing you can do is stand with feet shoulder width apart and rotate your hips in a circular motion. Not sure if it works but DH and I had a good laugh!
First time around this was awful. For me, second baby has meant no baby in the ribs. I think I'm carrying lower thanks to gravity and all that fun stuff. Something to look forward to if there's a next time?!
SOLIDARITY, yo. Baby has been all up on my left side with her feet pushing up against my ribs. The entire left half of my belly was sticking waaaaayyyyy out while it happened tonight, she was snuggling and kicking that hard.
It was so bad that I finally started to gently poke her and told her to be nice until she finally took the hint and moved a little. At least now I can breathe a bit. Gah.
When I get feet in my ribs I give her a gentle nudge down because it's so uncomfortable I can hardly stand it. Or I walk around to try and get her to shift. I just keep reminding myself...less than 6 weeks to go and I get my body back!
My parents are in town for the weekend, and DH proposed we go to Costco to get some ribs for dinner. So we're having ribs for dinner. And thankfully, I don't have a baby in my ribs. I feel for you ladies though, and hope you find a way to get baby out of there. My little guy is head down, looking towards my back, so I usually get kicked in the bowels instead.
Ya know, I dont think ive ever eaten ribs in my life. lol! Besides maybe boneless spare ribs from the chinese place that my husband gets on occasion! But im definitely definitely ready for BBQ season!!
Baby seemed to kind of move out of my side ribs a bit by that morning, which was nice. She seems to be more towards the center and i mean i do feel her against my ribs there but definitely the lesser of evils for sure!

@Charla1224 & @kbrands7 Fingers crossed for both of you!! I was breech and so were many babies in my family so its a big concern to me. Do either of you happen to know at what point they officially decide the baby is breech? I keep asking at my midwife apt and her response is that the baby keeps moving around so it doesn't really matter where she is right now. But i would like to have an idea about when your doctors decided she was definitely breech and mostly staying breech?
I'm 34 weeks today and my baby has been transverse or oblique until last night and I have been getting INTENSE rib kicks the past several weeks. I felt him wiggling all around as I was getting ready for bed and once I got in bed he got the hiccups... I felt them down near my pelvis as opposed to near my left hip or side where I felt them before. I had been getting concerned about his position but I did a bunch of reading and so many babies can still turn frequently until 36-37 weeks and most do turn into the right position by birth. Try not to worry yet!

Thanks! DS was breech, but didn't turn that way until 38w. Usually, they'll call it at 36 or 38w. After that point, baby is unlikely to dramatically change position.
My LO has been kicking my ribs for the past couple weeks and it is surprisingly brutal! At first it was only painful on the inside but now it hurts to the touch.

Do you find it eases up at all or once it started it was just kind of it?
