I wasn't sure where to post this but here goes nothing....
I have a healthy 2 year old son and we started trying for baby #2 last fall. We got pregnant right away and the pregnancy ended in a miscarriage around 6 weeks. I passed everything naturally, I had a normal period, and we got pregnant again. December 23rd we went in for our 8 week ultrasound and there was no baby. I had an emergency D&C on 1/7/16 after crazy, uncontrollable bleeding. My doctor referred us to a specialist the next week and he ran every blood test imaginable; all came back normal. My first period after the D&C was a nightmare and lasted 2 weeks. I was due for my period last week and bled for about 4-5 days. I continued to spot after so I called my clinic yesterday and the first thing she told me to do was take a pregnancy test. I said it was crazy but took it anyway. Sure enough, it showed I was pregnant within about 10 seconds. I then went to the clinic for blood work and my hcg was at 1903. I go back tomorrow to check the hcg level again. I'm completely confused, feel like I already lost this pregnancy when I didn't even know it existed.
Anyone have similar experiences?

@kabw29 this sounds similar to what i've just gone through with an ectopic pregnancy. i started lightly bleeding the morning of my first appointment at 8 weeks. during the ultrasound they found no baby in my uterus but a mass near my left ovary. i immediately started bleeding heavily after my appointment and it continued for a week. I received a shot of methotrexate later that afternoon but by then i was already bleeding heavily. had i not had my ultrasound that morning, i would've assumed I had a normal miscarriage and an ultrasound at any later point would indicate a miscarriage, not an ectopic. i bled for a week, stopped for a week, then bled again for a week. it sounds like you might have had an ectopic and weren't treated for it, hence the positive pregnacy test. unless treated, your beta's won't drop to 0. My beta was 2800 4 weeks ago when i was diagnosed, and last week it dropped to 71, i'm hoping for 0 and my draw this week. feel free to PM me if you have any questions. good luck and i'm sorry for your loss.
