Anyone here do MFP, and going to continue MFP through the pregnancy? Also, any tips to not give into some carb and sweets cravings when you feel like hell?
Have you tried healthier carbs like ancient grain breads or spelt pretzels? Same amount calories really, but apparently your body can process them easier meaning blood sugar doesn't spike as much. As for sugar I certainly can't help you there. I just got my blood results back and have elevated A1c so that's enough to tell me to back off the sweets.
Good luck. The struggle is real
Maintaining my current weight to ensure I gain 5 lbs or less in first trimester. Going to try my best to keep my weight under control!
Get in 4-5 workouts. Got in a run today and yesterday. Going to gym tomorrow so on the right path.
the hunger/nausea has me a little more snack-y than usual.
Pretty great actually. I was traveling for work Monday - Thursday and managed to get in two long walks and an in-room workout for three of those days.
staying healthy.
I plan to get a mani/pedi later this week!

were you able to drop the weight again after pregnancy?
@zzia15 I didn't lose the weight between pregnancies. However I lost my son at 37 weeks and 5 months later I was pregnant again.
I don't know if you are planning on breast feeding but my doctor said it is a miracle diet. I gained about 30 pounds with my son (not doing that again) and she was never worried and said it would probably come off with breast feeding. Amoung other things I'm hoping for magic BF weight loss.

I am planning on breastfeeding, but I feel so trivial now asking about weight loss after what you went through
Breastfeeding can burn about 500 calories a day! I know that some people it can have the opposite result and they don't lose at all I think most do.
Hi Ladies! This is your mid-week Health and Fitness Check-in!
How are we doing @m6agua @EmmieAnn22 @MrsDho11 @ANZ116 @juliehollz13 @zzia15 @hfab14 @HeyBooHey @Ash9614 @ElleBell13 @Kkamm917 @VirginiaHam ??
I have been much better about eating veggies. Lots more greens every day. I did get a desert bar at the farmers market yesterday, but it was gluten and refined sugar free, so I only felt half guilty for eating it. But it was amazing.
I am treating myself to two nights in palm desert this weekend so I can lay by the pool and bake in the sun. I am so tired of being cold! I love to go to the desert during San Diego spring.
I hope everyone else is having a good week!
@TrulyBlessed22 Of course cleaning the house counts as exercise. At least I would count it, haha.

Workout: 3x this week (running twice and barre once).
If anyone is looking for a challenging prenatal DVD, I suggest the pure barre dvds ($20 each). They are hard, but have a lot of modifications for as you grow. My booty is sore today
@EmmieAnn22at my appt this past Tuesday I asked about my workout routine and I was cleared to do all of it but she said I should be mindful of not having a heart rate of higher than 150bpm for an extended period of time. I neglected to ask her to elaborate on what that meant time wise. I'll ask at my visit next week.
@EmmieAnn22 I just found this online:
From: Mayo Clinic:
If you exercised regularly before pregnancy, there's no need to focus on your heart rate for exercise during pregnancy. Years ago, some experts recommended a heart rate of no more than 140 beats a minute for exercise during pregnancy. Today, however, heart rate limits aren't typically imposed during pregnancy.
From WebMD:
Myth or Fact: Never get your heart rate over 130 while exercising during pregnancy.Myth. There is no one "target" heart rate that's right for every pregnant woman. "People are still stuck on this heart rate issue, and it was never based on anything concrete," says Riley, noting that ACOG abandoned the "target heart rate" concept a long time ago. What they and most experts now rely on as a guide is RPE, or rate of perceived exertion."This is a scale that determines how hard you are working based on how you feel when you are working," says Farel Hruska, certified fitness trainer and the national fitness director for Stroller Strides and their Fit To Deliver pregnancy workout program.BabyCenter Link:https://www.babycenter.com/404_is-it-safe-to-get-my-heart-rate-over-140-beats-per-minute-du_1245274.bc
