@CourtJack I get ALL of that. But I still get sad when people die because typically SOMEONE loved them and is left behind to grieve.
Yah, I understand that his family is sad. But, the way everyone is talking it's as if he was some great person. He wasn't.
I get that for sure. My husband and I had a long discussion about this when Scalia died. I just cannot celebrate death. Makes me too sad. I can disagree with someone and be sad for those they left behind.
I got my results back for my glucose test. Normal is 65-139 according to their range, my number was 58. I have a call into the office to see what they say, but does anyone have experience with levels being very low?
Speaking of diabetes, Toronto mayor Rob Ford died. I am irrationally annoyed at how many people are all sad about it. He was a crack-smoking drunk-driving a-hole.

I'm sad only because us Americans could point to him and say see, maybe American politicians aren't SOO much worse than other country's politicians and now we can't.

Yeah I also wanted to say something like, "welp. I'm changing my kid's name now" but didn't want to be a dick. Hahah. I saw her name and totally expected a comment dissing both of the names.

Ginny - my number was off the charts low too. Something was just off with me that day. My blood pressure is also usually on the low side, but was 87/40. I did feel a little nauseous and faint that day for some reason. Doctors just said to rest up and drink fluids. I didn't eat as much as I normally did that day due to work stress, maybe that was the cause of it. How did you feel?

Or a comment like the name of your child does not really mean that's the name of your child. Just like smoking doesn't cause cancer.

I felt Ok, a little nauseous and dizzy. I have a killer headache today that I can't shake, and I'm really tired. I've had a lot of headaches throughout this pregnancy. All my other blood work came back within the normal range. I've never heard about levels coming back too low before, just too high.
@GinnyJ2012 I hadn't heard of that either. I only passed by 1 point with my first pregnancy. All of my other blood work was normal too. So, I was totally on the other end of the spectrum this time around. Hope you are feeling better soon.
Speaking of names we had talked about a name before we knew this little guy was a boy. H had agreed to and said that he really liked the name Arlo James. His parents were even here when we had the conversation, but of course after we found out when I brought it up he said he didn't remember the conversation. I honestly wasn't surprised at this. He is such a pain when it comes to names that I hate to even talk about it anymore. So I'm still pretty set on the name and one day we asked our daughter if she liked it and she said yes. We told her that we don't know what his name will be, but ever since then she is telling everyone that her little brothers name is Arlo. I'm just not really sure what to do about it. I tell her that may not be his name and she just doesn't care apparently. I find it funny, but I worry that if we do decide to go with a different name that she will be upset about it. Oh the joys of having a kid old enough to understand what is going on. When our son was born she was only 26 months so none of this mattered to her. Just my random thoughts for the day since she told the cashier at the grocery store this morning.

@lunagrl79 I admire you for getting yourself and your baby girl out of an unhealthy relationship. I will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers!
@VikingGirl12 In class today we were discussing how ear infections are common in babies/children with DS and one of my classmates has a little boy with DS. She suggested that if a parent comes in with a child with DS that has had more than 1-2 ear infections refer them to an ENT specialist to talk about getting tubes put in to prevent future ear infections early because it can cause difficulty with speech development. The anatomy of the ear is commonly different in babies with DS so the risk for recurrent ear infections is high. I just wanted to pass this information along to you early so that if your little girl starts having lots of ear trouble you can be proactive and ask about a consult for ear tubes so her speech isn't affected by everything sounding funny with all the fluid in there. (I hope all this makes sense)
@fishwife799 I love that name! And I think it's adorable that your daughter is telling everyone that's his name

Thank you! There are soooo many things babies with Ds are more susceptible to. It's hard to keep up with! I'm interviewing a potential pediatrician next week since my sons is close to retirement (he suggested we find someone else ) and I will mention this to him! I want someone who knows all of these things! Thanks for the info!
I called the hospital to schedule our "stork" tour of the birthing center and got sucked in...
annnnnd now I'm scheduled for a breastfeeding class, a prepared child birth class and infant care class. H was less than thrilled when I called him to tell him. But! They're free. I can't imagine they'll hurt anything and I'm the one that has to be in awkward positions on the floor for the child birth one so he'll live.
@fishwife799@ahernandez16 thank you!! Technically my birthday is on Sunday, but the closest Nothing Bundt Cakes to us is about 20 minutes away, and I was out that direction, so I went and got it lol.
This is happening.... Free mini bundtlet for my birthday and I'm not sharing! Lol.
WHERE DO YOU LIVE? I thought these were only in the Twin Cities... did I completely miss this?!? PS: I just got a mailer for a free bundtlet for the opening of an additional store in my town!
This was an ad on my Facebook feed as I was scrolling. I ugly laughed for about 5 minutes and had to explain the tot/raw potato "thing" to H. He thinks I'm/we're nuts....
@ahernandez16- priceless!! I've seen that before and always think of my brothers and dad, who've made a competition out of mailing each other the most disgusting things. One was a scab....next was the dried umbilical cord from one of their twins. The winner? FORESKIN.
