  I've always had stomach discomfort with the metformin. So they switched me to the extended release. I have 1000mg in the am and pm. But until your body gets used to that medicine it can cause you to not feel 100%. But that should pass within a few weeks.

  History:
  Irregular Cycles
  2010: Laproscopy with Hystroscopy ablation. Tubes were clear.
  1/5/2016 : DH sperm analysis is excellent.
  February: Switched to a new RE
  Two failed clomid rounds
  March 2016: New HSG and found tubes are open
  April 2016: Round one Letrozole 2.5 mg. Ultrasounds day 13 &16. No follicle grouth
  May 2016: Had to take a month off
  June 9th 2016: Started Letrozole again but at 5mg
  July 5th: bfp beta 31
  July 7th: Beta 97
  July 9th: Beta 231
  July 11th: Beta 500
  July 13: Beta 1400

  I hope it goes away soon!  This morning taking my stepson to school I had abdominal pain and severe nausea.  I had to go back home and sleep for a little while before making it to work by 10:30

  Met always causes stomach pain (gas etc) for me (right before a bowel movement)...and a ton more bowel movements...and there is a lot of urgency-like dude this could come pouring out of me at any second sorta situations. I felt the same symptoms at 1000 as I do at 2000 (and I have been taking it now for over a year). I find that I try to do little tricks to help. Like eating food in the morning when I take the 2 tablets and then taking the other 2 right before bed. Those seem to help. On a good day I will feel great and not have many symptoms on a bad day I wouldn't want to be far from a restroom and my tummy can hurt a lot! 
  
  It can also cause a lot of nausea and almost dizziness for me. 
  
  They say to watch what you eat with it...less fat etc. 
  
  For some people as they get accustomed to the drug the symptoms go away..and some people don't have symptoms to start. 
  
  I took off for a month of Met when we had a cycle cancelled due to no mature follies (we were going out of town for a week and because we couldn't do a 2nd ultrasound had to cancel we might not have had to cancel otherwise) and then went to the dr the next month after taking the cycle off from all meds (GOSH I FELT AMAZING!!) and found out I didn't have mature follies and the dr decided the only thing that might have caused no mature follies that time was not having my Met mixed with Fermera/Leterzole. This cycle I did all of it plus some and had a 27 folli!!! So I might hate the Met but it sure seems worth it!
