Infertility

intro/good luck charms :-)

hey gals,
Can I sit here too?  I'm on week 2 of bcp, starting lupron next week with an estimated retrieval date of April 19.  This is my second go round with IVF.

I thought for fun, maybe some of you would like to share what you do for "good luck" whether based in any science or not.  the thing I've come to realize during my last round is there is so little (to nothing) we can control during an IVF cycle, so it makes me feel good when I can DO something.

Here's what I've been up to to gear up and am planning to do post transfer-

3mo before:  Royal jelly, CoQ10, Maca, prenatals

Now that I'm on bcp, I'm stopping the maca (because the whole point of maca is to balance hormones)

Current: limiting alcohol, trying to up my veggie/whole foods intake; limit processed foods (just trying to be healthier, ya know?

During stims: no alocohol, continue healthy eating, walking, lots of water

After transfer:  pineapple core for 7 days.  I also just heard some ladies eat McDonalds french fries (something about the salt??)  but whatever, I'm doing it!  Also hoping to have my acupuncturist come to transfer.

I've also read that some wear green (color of life) on their transfer day; keep the feet warm.  I'll probably try those too...

Wishing everyone sticky beans and easy cycles.  :-)

  • It's okay! In general, I've switched to non toxic beauty products and ... I've kept my Christmas tree up as a sign of hope.

Acupuncture before and after FET and kept my feet warm. (Warm water bottle when being home or asleep).
I avoided pineapple as my Asian friends mother told me I should avoid pineapple and walnuts. So I did.

  • Welcome and good luck I don't seem to have any good luck charms or things I'm going to do. I did buy 7th generation cleaning products and plan to get rid of my old chemicals to family and friends
  • Hi! I'm on my second round, too. The first time we did nothing extra other than continuing prenatals. Well, we did look at the moon phases during that cycle, it was waxing while I was stimming so we hoped it would be a good sign of growth.

This time, I've been taking coQ10, avoiding carbs, and eating whole foods only. And I'm avoiding sugar as much as possible. I'll have to find a good luck charm to take with me. It sounds like a good idea!

  • i'm probably wrong, but think i heard that the salt (from the mcdonald's fries) kind of works the same as gatorade? that lots of sodium in general helps the post-ER "recovery"?

a while ago i saw (either on here or on some blog somewhere) that a girl wore Wonder Woman knee high socks for her ER and transfer...and i loved that idea. So i just ordered a pair of Supergirl knee highs, and they even have little red capes on them!
  • Just started doing essential oils today! Hoping to keep calm and relaxed
