health Insurance question

in January 2016 Moms

I missed the 30 day deadline to add my baby to my health insurance thorugh work. Does anybody know what I can do to get him added? or what do I do now? I live in Illinois. Baby is 8 weeks today. Open enrollment is not until November.

    I'd talk with your HR department. Usually you can only make changes to your insurance if there's a "life change" i.e. Birth, death, marriage, divorce, etc. if it is outside of the open enrollment period. Your best bet would be to call HR and plead your case. Otherwise you could privately purchase his own insurance policy, or go uninsured.
