STMs: How are your older kids interacting with baby?

Hey all!  Soon to be STM here and it's so fun to sit down with DD and talk about how life will be with the baby.  She's only two, but she seems to be having a lot of fun with it too!  We're reading books, and learning to treat our babydolls gently and nicely.  She's even started patting and kissing my tummy, saying "Hello, baby!"  and "I love you, baby!"

Am I the only one who thinks having their kids interact with their bump is the cutest thing ever?!  I am actually melting of the adorableness over here.  What's the cutest thing your older kids have done to prepare for baby?

    DS (2 1/2) has kissed my belly a few times but that's about it.  When you ask him where the baby is he usually lifts up his own shirt and says the bay is in HIS belly.

    Mine are not at all. They were super excited for a few weeks when we first told them we were pregnant. Now it is just there really. They make sure to be more careful with me when we are playing and help carry things more often but that is all more about me. Our six year old ds tells everyone that we are having another baby but other than that, I think they are just waiting for the baby to be born.

    My 6 year old runs to kiss my belly immediately after kinderarten every day. It's so sweet. And she talks to him. My 4.5 year old really doesn't care much though he's fascinated by my belly.

    My 11 year old doesn't interact with the belly, but does talk about the baby a lot. My 6 year old however, hugs my belly, and talks to baby, saying things like "I love you baby" and "I'm going to teach you how to play video games!"  It's really cute. DS1 was a lot like that when I was pregnant with DS2 too, but he is in his own world now that he's a 5th grader!

    DS1 was 3 at the time when I was pregnant with DS2 and he was interested but then again not really. He was there for when baby was born and he loved his baby brother. Although he did have to adjust to it. He will soon be 5 in August and he loves his brother but he still has his moments of eh I rather play by myself or Oli stop crying lol. Now with this LO DS1 kisses, rubs my belly but still has better things to do lol. DS2 who just turned 1 today doesn't have a clue lol.

    my stepson and nephews always hug me and kiss my belly think its the cutest thing ever :smile:

    my 8 and 5 year old are always kissing and rubbing my belly. I will soon try to get them to read stories to their brother so he can learn their voices. :). 

    I was thinking of taking my boys with me for the anatomy scan. Has anyone else done this? Did their children enjoy it? Or will I regret it with kids climbing things or complaining about such a long wait, etc...

    @searchingforameaning I take my 2 year old to every single doctor's appointment.  DH will be coming to help during the anatomy scan, but the only time we've ever had issue is when they take my blood.  (Bless her tiny heart!)  But she does really well with ultrasounds.

    @searchingforameaning I take my kids to the ultrasounds and they are fine. They are 11 and 6 and love to see the baby. DH is there with us also to keep them company.

    My son is 5 and has informed us that it's his baby. He is so protective of my belly and has yelled at his father if he hits a bump on the road while driving. 
    He found an old musical seahorse of his and put it to my belly, then put his head against it. 
    He loves listening to the heartbeat on our Doppler and we read up each week on the baby's size. 
    We are bringing him to the anatomy scan next week.

    DS is convinced that the LO is a boy, and is now determined to name his "brother" DowhatIsay for the first name. We'll find out in 4 more days of he's guessed correctly.

    DD is so excited about her little sister. She talks, sings, kisses and hugs my belly. Whenever I come to her classroom all of her friends ask if there is really a baby in there. So I guess she talks about it a lot at school. 
    She has been to all of my doctors appointments so far. She loves it when we can see the baby on the big screen ( I think it makes it more real)  She is going with DH and I the day after Easter for the anatomy scan. We are all excited to see baby girl agian.
