I put DD on my chest after her 5 o'clock AM or later feedings so we both get more sleep. If I don't she'll wake up an hour after feeding with projectile acid reflux spit ups and won't go back to sleep!
I bed share so I can just turn sideways and feed Cole so I can get some sleep.
We FINALLY started doing this. Olive sleeps really well still BUT anywhere between 3 and 5 am, she is afraid to go back to sleep. She's had a couple of nightmares I think. She'll yell out. It's sad.
So I bring her into bed with me when she refuses to sleep in the bassinet any longer. Within two seconds, she's out cold. I just strip the bed, get into my robe and slippers (as good as a blanket at this time of year) and snuggle up to her. It started by accident one night when i fell asleep nursing her.
The more I do it and the more i learn about it, the safer it feels. I'm still a bit paranoid about it... I'm afraid of flailing since i'm an athletic sleeper. But it's like magic. When she's in that bed with me, I sleep very still.
I sent the baby with DH to the sitter as usual and took a sick day from work. I was actually sick, but it was just a cold and I could totally have worked. I just wanted to go back to bed.
Last night I slept with headphones in. My mom was staying with me at a hotel with DD. She got up when DD was gassy and took care of her. The headphones helped me now wake up at every.single.noise made.
@taysun I recognized when the nurses were going to come in because every room had the electric sanitizer pump and I would startle awake when I herd it. A couple of them caught me and didn't say a word but I was terrified that my tiger mom night nurse would catch me.
I bed share at least half the time (I get one, hubby gets the other) even though I was completely against bed sharing before they were born.
We also just bought a house and made sure it has an extra bedroom so my dad will let my mom visit from Tennessee more often. She's so happy to take care of them while we sleep!
Last night, I put pillows on the floor next to DD's crib and slept there so that I could put my hand between the bars and pat her belly as needed. She had to sleep pretty close to the bars

I had a tiger mom nurse. Ugh. Henry would only sleep being held in the hospital, so SO would take him to the corner and sleep with him in the chair with his arm propped by blankets and pillows. He had a laptop in front of him and made it look like he was awake. That was literally the only way we got the sleep that we did.

We do exactly the same thing at that time.it works surprisingly well
I have two... Odie was having a hard night, I covered my head with a pillow and pretended to be asleep while he cried so my husband would take care of him and I could get some rest. hahaha
I sent an entire days worth of milk to my MIL's house with the baby, so I could get some rest (and so hubby and I could share a little intimate time, but that's a different story).
I let DH sleep in after the first feed on weekends, then we switch and I climb back into bed after the second. It's a trade off but usually DD sleeps more after feed #2, so I get a bit more sleep... Or so I tell myself.

I just learned that I could do this and I love it. If only I knew this from the get go, my supply would probably be way higher lol
Yeah i finally figured this out too. It's the ony way we can get any rest. I don't bedshare really.. Olive sleeps in a bassinet that is crammed right up against the bed. When she stirs, i just reach in and haul her into bed, feed her and put her back in. Her last feeding of the night, anywhere between 5-7am, she refuses to go back to bed and will only fall back to sleep in our bed. So then i bedshare. I just clear the bed, put my robe and socks on and snuggle her close.
