1st Trimester

Aches and pains & symptoms!

Okay, so for some reason I keep worrying myself about having an ectopic pregnancy. I have bad anxiety so sometimes I have chills, I have checked and I don't ever have a fever. I lay on the couch all day and never do anything because I'm SO tired. I had cramping when I first found out I was pregnant, after about week 6 hit, I don't really have them anymore. My medicaid just went through so im going to call in the morning! But anyway, I was just sitting here and I just had a really severe cramp that almost took my breathe away. My question is not if I'm having an ectopic pregnancy, but if any of you ladies have experienced this from maybe being dehydrated or anything? This is the first time but I'm afraid I'm not drinking enough water or something. Sorry this post is so eclectic and sorry it'll take up space but I need to know what you ladies do for cramps/anything helps! Plus a piece of mind until the morning.
XOXOXOXOXOXO to all you mommies <3

Re: Aches and pains & symptoms!

  • I am not sure what to are asking. Aches, pains, cramps are very normal. Some women don't have them though, that is normal too.

For all three of my pregnancies, I would have 'flu like' aches and what not for about a week.

If you are unsure or having anxiety of what is normal, I suggest buying a pregnancy book. Any decent one will have a 'normal' section and 'not really normal, call your Dr'. Even the front page if The Bump has some great resources from experts for each stage of pregnancy.
    Thank God for Raid.

  • I've been having bad cramps too at 5 weeks. They come and go. Some may have been gas or a bad reaction to some ranch dressing now that I look back but the others were definitely cramps! I've looked all over since it freaked me out too but it seems pretty common, especially early in and as long as there isn't blood or other more serious symptoms. The only way to really know about ectopic I would think would be from the doc unless something much more serious happens in the meantime. I've read that there is often pain in the shoulder area where it meets the arm or the neck too with an ectopic. I would say try not to worry until you see the doc which I'm assuming would be soon (my first appointment is at 8 weeks) and mention this to them so they can test you if they think its necessary!

  • Also, I read somewhere that pumpkin can help with cramping and its funny because I have been craving a pumpkin pie so bad recently. Not sure if its true or not though lol!
