I'm due on March 20 with my second child. With my first I went to the hospital three days before I had him because I had steady contractions I was sent home. Three hours later (the next morning) I had some discharge. It wasn't a huge gush it was just once I went to the bathroom. I thought it was my mucus plug and wasn't concerned at all. He next day I had a dr appointment and then did sonogram because I was past my due date and informed me there was little fluid around the baby and I needed to be induced.
Well this time around, yesterday I had a small gush of fluid while going pee and when I wiped there was discharge on the toilet paper. It was clear and sticky. So I immediately called the doctor and they said to come in to be checked. Of course it was already too late in the afternoon and I had to go to the hospital. They determined that my water didn't break was only 2cm dilated (does that even count lol) and they did a sono to check the fluids around the baby and they were fine so I was sent home.
Now this morning I'm having more discharge. The same consistency as yesterday. Clear, sticky like no smell. I have it when I go to the bathroom. Just wondering what your opinions are? I know I should just call the doctor but I feel dumb and paranoid. Wondering if it could be the lube from them checking my cervix repeatedly last night?
any quick responses are appreciated!! Thank you
Re: Opinions needed please
She also told me that my fluid level is on the lower side (she wants me to be above 10 but I am more like a 7/8 right now). She told me to drink a lot of liquid and just keep drinking.
Hope it helps! I am seeing my OB every week now so I feel quite ok and if anything, she can check it out right away. OBs are used to dealing with questions from preggos so dont feel bad calling them.
Also a random fyi- the amniotic fluid test can be 'inconclusive' I went in because I thought my water might be leaking and the test came back green, yellow is negative and blue is positive. Fortunately I was at 5cm and in labor so it really didn't matter.
