Lower Abdominal/Pelvic Discomfort

Hi ladies! This may seem dumb, but how do you know what is bloating and what could be signs of something else, like a cyst? I have faith everything will happen at the right time, but I would be so disappointed if I were to have a cyst and have to wait it out. I have been having discomfort in my left pelvic region near the top of my pelvic bone off and on all day today. It seems to get momentarily better with bowel movements and burping, but it comes back. I do have a history of colon surgery and am on letrozole and dexamethason, so I am praying it is just side effects of those and not anything more serious. Thoughts? Thanks in advance!

Re: Lower Abdominal/Pelvic Discomfort

  • Ah unfortunately it's so hard to read symptoms . Before I have been CERTAIN I have had a cyst due to abdominal pain and it ended up being nothing . When I did have a pretty large cyst I felt nothing at all . Go figure . I think it would be best to see your doctor bc that's the only way of really knowing . Sorry I'm not much help just wanted to share my personal experience .

  • @bbkidz With all the meds, my stomach got pretty grouchy. TMI, but I would get really bad painful cramps, and then have a BM and be fine. Some cysts you will have no symptoms at all, but if it was a hemorrhagic cyst, you would be in serious "I need to go to the hospital" pain. I ended up with a small cyst on my ovary, but it was non-producing and I was able to continue. So some of your discomfort could be from a cyst being in just the right spot that you can feel it, but it won't delay you. When they do your u/s they'll be able to see if you have a cyst and based on your bloodwork, know if it will be a problem.
FX that it is just a minor side effect of the meds!

  • I have some monster cysts due to endometriosis that never go away. 1inch on my right ovary and a 2 inch on my left. The couple times they cause me pain are typically during my period (feels basically like cramps) sometimes during intercourse, and during ultrasounds. During ivf  I get some shooting pains from them (our just my ovaries lol). I figure that is them growing and shrinking due meds
