BP question.

in April 2016 Moms
hi ladies. Tuesday at my OB appointment, they found protein in my urine with a blood pressure reading of 152/80. Ive been tracking my blood pressure at home for the past few days and all have been around the same, Until this morning, I got a reading of 165/105. I'm just wondering what would be considered high enough that I need to seek medical help over? Hope everyone is enjoying their Friday.

    If it were me I'd check again after letting a little time pass and call if it's still high.

    I wouldn't wait long to re-check - sit or lay down for 30 minutes and check again, or call them and ask what they think you should do. Typically a reading is considered high at the doctor's office if it is over 140.

    The low number should not be that high.  Get in and get seen ASAP! Sounds like the beginning of preeclampsia. Be safe!

    I'm currently struggling with the high BPs. I would take it again after resting for a little while.

    Lay on your left side and test again. If it's still high, then call or just go in.

    3 miscarriages - 1 DS (6) - 1 DD (3)  - #3 due March 30!

    My doctor said anything over 140/90 is high if it is not a one-off. Like other PPs have mentioned, test again after resting.

    Like @redselig said, my doctor wants me to go in if it is 140/90 for two readings, 15 mins apart.

    Ditto the 140/90. My doc said not to test BP unless you've been at rest for 15 minutes. Try laying down for a bit and if it doesn't go down, call or go in.

    Just saw this... I would not sit and observe a BP like that... You need to be seen.
