@kmalls Ew. Toddlers are booger factories. My DS sneezed with an open mouth as he was about to latch on to nurse this morning. It was the strangest sensation ever.

@Paturkey - gross! I didn't breastfeed so I can't totally relate, but boogers on boobs sounds all kinds of weird.
I walked around downtown for about 4 hours today with 3 ladies I barely know in 90 degree heat, to buy shoes and material (for a dress) for my upcoming "wedding party" (we are legally married but never did the party part and everyone has been kinda nagging) I don't even know if people do this sort of thing elsewhere but apparently it's very common in Tanzania. People get married document wise and then wait for money to have the party. Ours is April 2! (aka probably too soon)
@kmolleltz how fun! Well, not the 90 degree heat part, and with women you don't know.... but a party to celebrate your marriage sounds fun. So curious to know what kind of fabric you got for your dress. Is it gonna be a traditional Western white wedding gown, or is it gonna be a traditional Tanzanian dress (and what do those look like)? Growing up we moved around a lot because of my dad's work, we lived in Nigeria for a little bit and while we lived there, I absolutely loved going to the fabric market!
My random is I had no idea how expensive bar stools are. We just finished our basement and I'm looking online for decent bar stools and can't find any I like for less than $90 each (and we need 6).

Ikea. That is where we finally got ours after I was struggling with the same thing!

Ikea is the answer to all earthly problems. I've considering driving 45 minutes to the closest one just to get a frozen yogurt cone.

We have one 15 minutes from us. At least 50% of all our get-togethers with friends who live within a 30 minute-2 hour driving range of us consist of us meeting them at Ikea and eating Swedish meatballs after they have picked out their furniture.

@JamieK1882 I actually hate it also, both the store and the furniture. I will say, however, the bar stools we got aren't that terrible and under $80 a piece which I was struggling to find anywhere else!

We actually have an ton of fabrics here from Nigeria and Ghana as well as Tanzanian fabrics. I didn't get a picture of what I got before the tailor picked it up at the crack of dawn this morning but a picture will come when the dress is finished! She plans to get it done in 3-4 days so hopefully that works out. It's a more western design but its gold not white. Though with Tanzanian accents. You'll just have to take my word and wait for a picture sometime later, maybe in a week, haha. (and @jamieK1882 too)
another random : every time I see the "moms of multiples weekly check in" for some reason my brain reads "moms of multiple wives"... the first time I was like meh but now it's happened multiple times and I'm like, what the heck brain!?
Please don't think ill of me but I need a break from my FI's children, I feel like a terrible human saying that but I can't tell anyone else really. I love them as much as I do him but he has four and they were raised way different than mine were and I'm just stressed out. They haven't gone to their "Mom" in a month now and are supposed to go this weekend but she always flakes out. My two are pretty much mini-me's and it was just the three of us for such a long time that we just kind of mesh together very easily and quietly. His are really high maintenance, require tons and tons of homework help, tons of correcting on everything, need constant supervision and I'm just spent. I can't tell him that because it would hurt his feelings but lately I just want to go outside and let out a huge scream.
I'm so super stressed right now with work. I'm speaking at two conferences in April and my slides are almost due and I'm nowhere near ready. To top it off, last Sat my mom fell and hurt her knee and had to use crutches. Yesterday she fell on the crutches and broke her shoulder. So today she is having shoulder surgery. I want to be at the hospital as much as I can, but I'm struggling with balancing that, DD and DH, work, and nonstop all-day nausea and exhaustion.
@ladyshark311@JamieK1882 - I think you both need to take up, like, boxing or something and just punch the crap out of a sparring partner. Get some of that frustration out!
Seriously though, pregnancy is HARD. I feel like it just compounds every situation and makes things seem unbearable at times. I'm going through a bunch of stuff right now that even in the best of times would be hard to deal with, but adding in the first trimester makes me want to get in bed and sleep for 12 days. The good news is we'll get through it. The stress and frustration will either fade or we'll handle it. I'm not minimizing any situation AT ALL, but there will be a light at the end of the tunnel eventually!
@kmalls You are absolutely correct and it made me think actually, once I don't feel like total crap I need to get a hobby that's just one of my own that gets me out of the house! It's so very true, everything just seems so exacerbated right now but it will for sure get better. It has really helped me immensely though to be on this board with everyone!
Picking up an antibiotic yesterday, the pharmacist starts
warning me that the antibiotic can lessen the effects of birth control pills. I
looked at her like she was crazy and told her I’m pregnant. DH and I got a good laugh out of it though.
I made homemade tortilla chips yesterday and today I made salsa and then mixed it with cheese sauce and left over taco meat and thats what i'm eating for dinner. And it's delicious except that I made the salsa way too spicy. Hah.
@kmolleltz As I read this, I am eating "taco dip" for dinner with tortilla chips. Leftover taco meat mixed with sour cream, salsa, & cheese. My husband loves it & I do have to admit it's delicious! And kudos to you for the homemade salsa & chips!
I totally got lost in some Bump catfish stories yesterday, and now I'm suspicious of everything ever... I mean, I knew they were out there but July 14... come on now...
@alysie89 it's when someone makes up an entire identity online. Normally it's relatively innocent, and the person is just lonely and looking for attention. Sometimes it can get out of hand. Pictures can be stolen, money can be stolen... there's a whole tv show on MTV about it. In July 14 bmb, a regular poster befriended everyone for more than 9 months before people figured it out. Other bmb's have had people make up identify and then hit them up with a sad story, start a gofundme account and steal their money... it gets crazy! Moral of the story... you never know. Be careful what you post. And don't give money to anyone you don't personally know.
Oh geeze. Thanks for filling me in! I was a July 14 mom but got too busy to get on the bump. I think I may have to go try to find it just for curiosity sake.
I believe 1st tri/Nov 16 has one of thoseright now. I got lost reading it all this morning.
Re: Weekly Randoms **3/14**

DH keeps texting me random names to look up.
Speaking of names, my random thought is that I have like 8 names picked out for a girl.... and only 1 for a boy. Must come up with more boy names.
@kmolletz yes post a pic please!
