Back Pain (loss mentioned)

Hi ladies!

So I'm a little worried, i havent spoken about my loss yet but this is my second pregnancy, i lost my first in October. I was sad but excited to know i was fertile and this is a journey I could undertake. Fast forward to now and I'm so excited to bepregnant again! Thank you universe!!

My question is, is anyone experiencing back pain above your hips and slight stomach pains?

Today I have and it worries me as I had these pains when I was experiencing my loss. Except then they were accompanied by bleeding and no more pregnancy symptoms.

This time, I have symptoms as well as the pain and it's accompanied by the need to go to the toilet (number two). Can anyone relate? I just want to know I'm not alone.

Im 6 weeks today, grow little lovebug grow xx

  • I forgot to say thankfully no blood this time either.

  • I have had cramping on and off with this pregnancy, and some back pain.  I'm only 4w 2d though, so I have no idea how things are going in there.

I did have cramping with my pregnancies with both of my daughters, and everything was just fine.  Doctor told me it was from normal growing of the uterus.  I can't remember back pain, but it definitely could have been part of things.

I also had major constipation with my pregnancies, which also caused pain.  My first midwife suggested buying bran (I got it at whole foods) and sprinkling it into food.  That definitely helped!

  • Sorry for your loss @SunshineJar.

I've had some pretty decent back pain in the last week (spent a day with heat on my lower back) and lots of stretching/crampy feelings in my uterus. My Ovia app reassured me that back pain and cramps are normal in the first tri as long as there's no bleeding!

Im actually really happy you posted this. I have had small stomach cramps on and off the last week or so which totally freak me out but it sounds like a lot of us are in that boat. However, the last few days I have been getting some lower back pains here and there. Today I actually had pretty strong back and stomach pains and it instantly threw me back to when I miscarried, but thankfully they were no where near intense or even excruciating enough to make my inner hypochondriac call the dr. This may be a weird comparison, but at times it feels almost as if I desperately need to use the bathroom or have a crazy upset stomach.. if that makes sense? No bleeding here either and Ive just been doing my best to keep myself sane, tell myself its just an upset stomach or stretching to make room, and remain positive!
  • @honeybeewebb2424 I'm exactly sith you!! The needing the toilet, i keep trying to go just to see if that is what I need. It's throwing me back to my miscarriage too and I've cried by eyes out. My usually supportive man just told me he doesn't want to know as he doesn't want to worry too so I've been quite upset about the whole thing!
  • @SunshineJar I had an episode of severe cramping/needing to have a BM the other day, so awful I was curled up in the fetal position writhing for a good ten minutes. Had some red blood after and everything...apparently it was nothing/the SCH repositioning itself and bleeding out a bit. Try not to stress! Drink some coffee/eat some prunes/take a stool softener and drink water like it's your job!

  • I'm sorry for your loss @SunshineJar.

I've had on and off cramping/stretching/tugging as well as lower back pain, no bleeding. I think some of it might have been constipation or gas pains, but there was definitely some stretching going on too.
  • @sunshinejar I typically share everything with my H, like things most normal people don't! But I have been doing my best to try to keep anything that could remotely be linked to possible bad news away from him because I don't want him to worry at all. This morning I was concerned and broke down and told him and I could tell he was just so worried but tried to remain positive for me. One day at a time!

@talkthewholetime Just laughed at the truth of your reply!

I have been an emotional train wreck lately and normally NEVER cry.. but have been crying at the dumbest things. Currently tearing up at the fact that I am just so happy that we are all in the same boat and that there is SO much support on this board. We have such a great group of ladies! Creepy internet hugs. We got this mommas!
  • Big hugs! It's so hard doing this again after a loss. I think some back pain it totally normal. And the having to go is too. Pregnancy is a giant mind f****. Hang in there!
  • Thanks everyone, you made me feel soooo much better. This morning my back hurts a lot less and still no blood so I'm happy. I think I freaked out but it was probably a mix of needing to go to the toilet alot, sitting down all day and general stretchy feels, i just panicked. Honestly 12 weeks cant come quick enough.

Your support means the world, hugs everyone hugs!!
