Week/Size: 37, still the size of a baby...or family size of potato chips!
Symptoms: Same pelvic pressure/pain, insomnia, BH, all those annoying "get this baby out of me" things...
Rants/Raves/Stories: Had a prenatal massage yesterday...can I just have one ALL the time please? I also keep getting a lot of people surprised when I tell them I'm 9 months and basically due any time...pretty sure I look big enough for that, not sure I really WANT to look smaller...and also, the "I've Given Birth" button finally showed up on my android app...
Upcoming Appointments: Week 37 checkup today if my midwife isn't delivering a baby! I have to call before I go in.
Questions: Anyone else feel like LOs movements amped up? I thought it was supposed to be the opposite with the whole running out of room thing...
GTKY: Bring partially Irish I normally make bangers and mash, but I don't have the energy this year. So DH is getting a jump start on things and smoking a brisket. He spent the night on the couch (yay need to myself!) to start trending the smoker overnight. I may still try to make the mash...but we also already have premade in the fridge...plus DD will be in green. I currently have no green that fits...

There are days when my boy does really strong and forceful movements when awake. Yesterday was one of such days... He was probably doing donkey kicks!
Week/size: 37 - winter Mellon or bunch of chard. Cheers for term day!!!!!
Symptoms: Shortness of breath, some days more than others. And I seem to have developed a mild lactose intolerance...
Rants/Raves/Stories: Last Friday baby dropped, and I could eat and breathe like a champ until Monday! Then yesterday he came back up and just sitting after breakfast was enough to get me breathless... Let's see what today brings. Also , hospital bag is packed, waterproof mattress protector has been placed and car seat has been installed and checked! We're ready!
Upcoming Appointments: next Monday march 21.
Questions: none
GTKY: Any plans for St Pattys Day? Yes! 7-course dinner with husband at one of our favorite restaurants, since March 17 is also our 9th wedding anniversary and 13th dating anniversary!
Week/size: 37 weeks- a winter melon.. Or you know, newborn sized.
Symptoms: I have elephant feet. And they hurt when I push on the tops of them. Soooooo swollen.
Rants/Raves/Stories: We scheduled my c-section yesterday, because baby is a cozy little breech monkey. People have been saying I should go see a chiropractor, but I'm not a fan of the local one (too holistic/eastern 'medicine' for me. I know they're not all like that, but this one is).
Upcoming Appointments: Next Monday.. And Tuesday - they can never schedule my doc and my NST on the same day... Le sigh.
Questions:
GTKY: Any plans for St Pattys Day? Part of me wants to stop and get a corned beef.. Part of me thinks that sounds like too much work. We'll see...
Symptoms: the feet swelling is fun, I look like a hobbit, minus the hair.
Rants/Raves/Stories: Getting up almost every night at 3 am and not being able to fall back asleep is seriously taking a toll. Been up since 3am this morning and I'm at work and the exhaustion is already starting to set in.
Upcoming Appointments: 34 weeks today.
Questions: Nope
GTKY: Any plans for St Pattys Day? absolutely nothin....
Symptoms: overall for this far in I'm feeling pretty good. Lots of peeing and starting to feel increasing pressure on my pelvis and less on my lungs. I also commonly feel like my pelvis is being ripped in two when I wake up in the morning - I guess a good sign baby is dropping?? And occasional bh.
Rants/Raves/Stories: celebrated DHs birthday last night at Cheesecake Factory, mmmm! Nothing like a good dinner you don't have to make yourself.
Upcoming Appointments: just had one yesterday and another next Tuesday. All looks well and baby seems to be right on track.
Questions: who's all getting checked for dilation and efacement? They won't check me until my DD unless I really want them to ahead of time.
GTKY: Any plans for St Pattys Day? No I've never really been that into st. Pattys day. I have red hair so feel I'm themed all year round
Symptoms: I'm down with a bad cold, so the usual sinus and sore throat. pregnancy-wise, lots of pressure downstairs, diarrhoea when I'm tired and over-doing it, very sensitive downstairs in general. Had a few contractions which eased up now. drinking fluids like a thirst camel at least 3 liters a day.
Rants/Raves/Stories: hubby is in the home stretch of his busiest work period for the year. looking forward so much to having him around more from 1st of april. Hopefully get to squeeze in more romantic quality time before darling arrives!!
Upcoming appointments: Having a full check up tomorrow. Hope she's doing ok in there despite me being under the weather.
Questions: who's being checked for dilation and effacement? I've been checked twice. Once internally at 34 weeks because it's standard for the doctor I was seeing (he requires it). second time because I was having stomach pains and contractions which have since eased up. results were good/normal.
@olivemomma Internal checks started for me last week at 36 weeks. They'll check weekly if I want them to. I'm debating if I'll ask her to check today. I was 1cm and effacement had started last week, I have a hunch not.much has changed. I both want to confirm that or be wrong lol. And yes, as @Goldsgirl9 said it was a bit painful. I don't remember them being painful the first time around until labor (cervix checks were MISERABLE once I was in active labor...SO not how TV depicts it).
@imrachellea - I remember them being pretty painful which is why I'm hesitant to have them check if it's not their policy! Although I would like to know. With DD 1 I went from 0-10 though in 24 hours so I know it doesn't necessarily mean much. Don't you just wish there was an accurate way to determine these things?!
Week/size: 34 weeks, butternut squash or cantaloupe
Symptoms: The usual, and I've discovered lightening crotch and wish I hadn't
Rants/Raves/Stories: Typically, my feet swell less while wearing my wedges (it's either those or my Chacos at all times). Yesterday I wore them, was at school for 12 hours, on my feet for the last 3 non-stop. Bad idea. My feet still hurt today. But at least my legs looked good through the day (that's what I am telling myself at least).
Upcoming Appointments: Next Tuesday, just a normal check
Questions: Opinions needed....if you were in my shoes, would you rather have the baby 2 weeks early (creeping BP caused induction, NOT elective) and have to take LO out and about with you or hope LO waits to come a week late? I've got a bagillion things going on with my class and our other 2 kids the week LO is due, and I have been trying to sweet talk her into staying put for an extra week, but now I am wondering which would be less stressful. I know it's crazy, and I can't control much of it. Just trying to mentally prepare for things.
GTKY: Any plans for St Pattys Day? Well, my class will have a rainbow lunch tomorrow, so they are all pumped about cooking. I found out about 10 years ago that I was conceived on St. Pattys day (thanks to my aunt thinking I was my mom answering the phone and announcing that). Other than that, I am ZERO Irish but do enjoy a good beer...except this year. Maybe I will convince Hubz to do corned beef. I don't eat red meat, but I will chow down on that every now and then.
Symptoms: My hands get SO NUMB at night, peeing all the time, prodromal labor contractions for a lot of the day... super fun stuff. Rants/Raves/Stories: I get to have a baby on MONDAY!
Upcoming Appointments: NST on Friday, induction Monday
Questions: I've never had a planned induction... how would/did you prepare differently? I'm planning on having my labor hair done. (all those cute braided styles that I'll actually have time to do now @imrachellea !!!) & bringing donuts and fruit for the nurses. What else should I be thinking about?
GTKY: Any plans for St Pattys Day? None, I actually forgot it was coming up.
3 miscarriages - 1 DS (6) - 1 DD (3) - #3 due March 30!
@olivemomma internal checks start next week for me and I am not looking forward to it. I remember it being painful.
How is it painful?
In my experience it was a TON of pressure and caused cramping. Kind of like a Pap smear but much more intense and not as speedy. It's a very 'personal' check of what's going on.

Paint something adorable on that beautiful belly and do some photos!
Baby #5 here... same OB each time... and maybe he's just extra gentle but internal checks have never been an issue for me.... honestly. Like I didn't even feel it Monday... so everyone is different...

I haven't had any checks yet and I do not think it is in the doctor's plan to do it... My understanding is that it doesn't change management... I will have the dreaded Group B strep swabs at my next appt. though. Ugh.

My Dr let me swab myself. It's super easy and doesn't hurt one bit.

I hate the cervix check. LO doesn't like them either, possibly because they have been poking her head since she is pressed right there. I have had two. I was 1cm 2 weeks ago and slightly less than 2cm yesterday. But DR said I have thinned out a lot between the two checks. They think since she is super active and keeps putting her hands to her face she is making me thin faster than normal.
The he strep swab was nothing at all.
@imrachellea my LO has upped her shenanigans as well. DH loves it and she responds to his rubbing of her feet that she loves to stick out my side. I am so glad my docs consider me full term today. I know it doesn't mean anything about her arrival, but I feel more relaxed about if she decides it's time to show her face my vagina on the other hand does not like all this pressure.
You can pass on cervix checks if you want to.... they generally don't mean much anyway. I had my first one today and it was more uncomfortable than I remember, but not that horrible. She said I'm maaaybe a fingertip (36 weeks +1). Better than last time, when I was 100% closed up past my due date.
