NBR question healthcare professionals come in!!

So my sons on spring break and my mom is supposed to watch him tomorrow while I work. She has a spot underneath her nose and went to dr yesterday and they said it was staph. She got an antibiotic yesterday so will be on it about 36 hrs before she's watches him. She says she will keep it covered and not kiss him(she's a nurse). I really need to go into tomorrow as I have my yearly evaluation scheduled in the morning. Would you call off work or do you think being on antibiotic and keeping it covered is efficient?
Anyone feel free to comment thanks ladies!

  • If you are worried about it I would just call your pediatrician and ask.

  • I think it really is fine. I'm a nurse like your mom, so we should have about the same amount of knowledge

They generally say after 24 hours on antibiotics you're not contagious. Just tell her not to get to close to his face or share drinks/utensils.

She could also use a topical antibiotic like bacitracin or neosporan.
