If you look through the thread titled "When's your first appointment?", you'll see the range of times people are having appointments. 11 weeks is on the long end of normal, but you should still be able to get in any first tri testing.
If it bothers you, you can try finding a different dr. I've noticed doctors differ a lot on how often they like to see their patients. BUT also check your insurance to see how many ultrasounds they'll pay for.
I just had my initial visit with the history nurse yesterday. My first time seeing the doctor won't be until 11 weeks and I don't get an ultrasound until 20 weeks. I was hoping they would have at least checked my HCG yesterday, but no... I may have had a hormonal breakdown in the car right after because I wanted to get some type of indicator that things were progressing.
I know exactly how you feel! Its crazy to sit and not know anything but sometimes its for the better. Rather than sitting and over analyzing everything. My Dr wont see anyone for their first appt/ultrasound until they have done the (bullshit as I call it) appt with a nurse to go over family history and options etc at 8 wks. Even though I just did this like 6 mos ago. Then they do your first appt at 10 wks. I've contemplated calling a different dr only because I wanted that security or piece of mind too due to my surgery and previous miscarriage and for some reason its asking too much! Ive decided to relax and trust that they think my levels are fine and to not stress myself out over something I really don't have control over anyway.

Ha! My doc recommended waiting until I was at least 8 weeks before even thinking about making an appointment. Luckily for me (or not, as the case might actually be) because I did IVF I get to see my RE every Friday for blood work and an ultrasound until I'm 10 weeks.
