Stroller Poll

edited March 2016 in June 2016 Moms
I know strollers have been talked about in excess lately but I'm truly unable to make a decision and overwhelmed by choices when reading through past threads. That being said, between these three options (links provided in order of poll options)...I'd absolutely LOVE and appreciate anyone that could share their in-site as to why/why not they would recommend one of these over another. I've narrowed down my choices to these three for specific wants/needs and financial restraints as well. Thank you in advance! My poor husband is so sick of my indecisiveness with the stroller issue lately. Lol

Re: Stroller Poll

  • I voted for the Britax. After the research I had done, that's the travel system we went with. Obviously baby isn't here yet, but I love it. I've gotten great reviews from other friends who use it, as well. :)

We got the BOB motion (not the jogger) which is supposed to be similar to the britax. I also got the Britax BSafe 35 elite and I like it so far. It clips in and out of the stroller pretty easily. Also, britax and BOB are owned by the same company, so besides material quality they should have similar features.

That's what is on our registry right now actually..I just am bummed that you have to buy the organizational part (part that has cup holders since it doesn't come with parental or child cup holders) separately AND you have to buy the child tray separately as well. I know those shouldn't be make or break reasons though. Hubby doesn't like the Graco Lite because he says it's made out of cheap material lol. Because essentially that one would have everything we would want and also include the cup holders/child tray.

  • Have you physically tried out all these models? If you can go to the store and see them, I would highly recommend it. Make sure the carseat portion fits well in your car (stores will generally let you take a carseat floor model out to your vehicle to test fit before you buy), try collapsing it yourself to make sure it's not super awkward, give it a little push around and see how it handles. Ultimately try not to stress too much over the decision...in all likelihood any of these three would make you perfectly happy

The Britax looks the most lightweight and simple to me and I like the wheel configuration of it better than on the Graco Modes Click Connect. That other Graco (the cheapest option) looks like a great stroller too though and I don't know that I personally would pay that much more to get the Britax.

True, but those make great shower gifts! :)
And, going off what @Emztron500 said, it's really lightweight & easy to collapse & open back up. Definitely make sure you try them all out in store!

    Great suggestions! Thank you!

We were able to try both Graco options in store but not the Britax because I guess Babies R Us doesn't carry it in store? Or at least doesn't at our location. We really want one with three wheel movability so the bigger Graco (last option) had lots of awesome options but seemed bulky and heavy. But I can't seem to please my husband because on the flip side...the Graco lite version IS three wheeled and has all those great "extras" but he says feels cheap and would fall apart? lol. So we landed on registering for the Britax...but I'm pretty bummed at the lack of child tray/cup holders for both child and parent honestly lol.

This. Times a zillion. I decided not to vote, because of this exact thing. We looked into the britax and all the gracos, but went with the Chico bravo travel system. I REALLY like that the stroller is beyond easy to collapse and that I can do it myself. It easily fits in my car and my moms Honda Fit, which was important because she will have baby girl during some afternoons.

The Graco lite is a decent stroller. It looks/feels like it's made of cheap material, but in reality it can withstand quite a bit. But between the three, I would pick the britax if I didn't already have the chico

  • I would try not to get so hung up on the fact that the Britax doesn't come with the tray and cup holders. In reality these are not necessities and just nice conveniences to have. If that is the only downside you see to this stroller, to me that is not reason enough not to buy it. I highly recommend trying it out in the store. We compared it to the Graco models and it just had the best mobility, was easy to collapse and extremely light. If you have a Buy Buy Baby near you, they carry the Britax. Good luck! :)

Yeah, I completely agree. I wish it didn't bother me so much. Lol. I'm happy to hear that we originally made a good choice based on my research...I just need to stick to it.

And I'm SO jealous of anyone that has a Buy Buy Baby near them! The closest one to us is about an hour and a half away I believe.

  • Sorry, can't really help (I'm obsessed with the Vista). But I think you're right to trust your research and go with your first choice. You can always order cup holder/tray accessories after if you do miss them. That my plan. :)
  • I'm not an expert, but I personally did not care for a Graco brand car seats when I looked at them at BRU. They seemed wiggly. I have heard good things about Britax. We ended up doing a Chicco travel system (haven't used is yet though as baby isn't here).

  • We got the Chicco Bravo as well and I love it (haven't actually used it. But I push it around the house. Stupid dog won't stay put in it though....) We got a Bravo that comes with both parents tray and child tray since those are pretty big needs in my book and one of the biggest complaints about a lot of strollers right now, especially ones that don't come with child trays. Eventually we will get a BOB for our excursions on trails, jogging, etc.

Is the Chico Bravo three wheeled? Also, I would assume it's a click and connect system as well? Maybe I should look into that one too lol. Too many choices!!!!

  • We have a Bugaboo Chameleon stroller and it is like driving butter. I LOVE it. My super frugal (CHEAP) MIL raves about it, that its a Cadillac. It really is great. We live in the gritty SouthWest and walk a lot- so it's been awesomely great.

Having a second baby now, with a nearly 2 year old- I'm considering the Baby Jogger City Select that can be a double stroller. Mostly, I think we will make due with the single stroller for the first few months.

As for car seats- I NEVER used a system with the baby in the car seat as both a car seat and a stroller seat- but I can recommend both of the convertible car seats we have: the Britax Boulevard Click-Tight and the Maxi Cosi Vello 65 are both fantastic and super comfortable.

Buying an infant car seat this time- I will go for a Maxi-Cosi. Great car seats.
  • Of those options I would choose the Britax simply because I really don't like the Gracco infant seats--I feel like their head/body support isn't very good--and I know you can use rolled up receiving blankets, I just prefer to not need the extra step.
We have a Chicco Keyfit that we used last time and bought an older model City Mini and you can get an adapter for it to make it one you can click the car seat into.  I LOVE that stroller and actually got a barely used one off craigslist for a great price as well as getting the adapter for the infant seat there.  If used isn't your thing the new model comes out this month, so you might be able to find last years model on a good sale or clearance.
Oh, and it is a 3 wheel stroller very similar to the Britax.

  • Can't speak from personal experience- but my SIL and cousin both rave about the Britax travel system. It's super leightweight and can be folded up with one hand is the biggest plus according to them.

Ugh, I hear you. We can't really afford it either. I was planning on buying used or hoarding coupons, but the in laws offered it as their baby gift and we did not say no! MIL has magical coupon powers so I'm assuming she'll get a good deal. We will also buy the bassinet stand and make it do double duty the first few months.

I'm so glad to hear my comments helped during that. Hope your swelling hasn't been as bad lately too. I'm ok but not feeling well (exhausted, short of breath, loads of BH). Waiting for my OB to call me back and tell me it's all normal so I can cry about it over a root beer float. Thanks for asking. :) Also, noticed / thought you looked great in your last bump pic!

That's a great idea! Utilizing it for both purposes, that is. And I wouldn't say no to that being a baby gift either! Great choice in laws! :)

Aw I'm sorry you haven't been feeling well! I haven't had BH yet (that I know of), but my doc keeps asking if I have. I guess I would know when I do eventually have them? Lol. Swelling is still pretty horrible...but my doctor seems less than concerned since my BP is great and I passed my GTT. And your comments DEFINITELY helped during that time. Your screen name has always been a familiar and friendly one to me ever since :)

Awww thank you! I feel like I'm finally growing into the bump and actually looking pregnant and not just fat lol

Yes, I really wanted a rocking bassinet (we won't have the crib until month 3), but realized I could put the bassinet on the rocking chair and presto! One baby item down. I also like that BBB has the vista and you can use bed bath and beyond coupons/cards for it.

So glad the BP is good! I know you were worried. And your def rocking that baby bump! Woohoo!
  • I have the b-safe and liked it for DD. We have the b-ready stroller and loved it too. We've rented the b-agile while traveling and were amazed - it's so light and easy to fold and wonderful. Now that we're having our second, I'm eyeing up the b-agile double. I know the b-ready converts to a double, but it'll be heavy logistically challenging. Sooo... I vote b-agile
  • I have the britax b agile travel system that I honestly LOVE! It drives well, it's light, folds up easily, and is all around awesome! My DH loves it too. And it's easy for the grandparents to figure out. It truly is a great stroller! You won't be disappointed!

  • We actually got the Graco modes in downton. I love the flexibility of the system and how the toddler portion can come off and also lay back. Very light, easy to manage and a lovely neutral color.

The Bravo is 4-wheels. It is a click/connect system, and super easy to fold. The Cortina (the original one I was looking at) comes with both the kids tray and the adult (adult try is built-in on both the Cortina and the Bravo), while the Bravo you have to order the kids tray separately, but its pretty cheap, like $30). The Bravo set we got does NOT have the kids tray, but some might have it included.

  • I got the Bravo Elite I think because I really liked the charcoal grey color and matching infant carrier. I also liked the high ratings of the Chicco car seats. Registered for a Chicco NextZip as well. I wish they made car seats in adult sizes. Those things look comfy!
  • We are looking at the britax 35 elite because of the extra head protection. But I am 5' 10" and my husband is 6'1"  so the britax stroller is too short for us. We are looking into the city elite by baby jogger.  It has adjustable handle for height and has a kit to make make it compatible with almost any car seat.
