Week/Fruit: 33/durian fruit? Or ferret according to Ovia!
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Hip pain has been killing me. I wake up in the middle of the night almost in tears because of it. Raves are, of course, feeling him move all the time and seeing my stomach going all over the place.
Upcoming Appointments: Next Tuesday for a regular check up. We have our second child birth class this Saturday.
Questions for the group: Any tips for relieving hip pain?
GTKY: Are you practicing any comfort techniques for labor at home with your partner? We have only learned breathing techniques so far in class, so we have tried that a couple of times. I think we will definitely practice the other things we learn in class until we find some that feel right.
Week/Fruit: 33/Durian fruit. Or Ferret. Neither of which makes me warm and fuzzy when I think about it living in or exiting my uterus.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Sleeplessness. I'm so tired but I can't sleep for more than a couple of hours without getting so uncomfortable I wake up, and then I can't go back to sleep. On that note, another symptom I have is the strong urge to hit the people who say "that's just the baby getting you ready to be up all night!!" whenever they ask me what's wrong and I say I'm tired. Also having lots of hip pain. @sarawifenow I wish I had some tips for you (and me).
Upcoming Appointments: This Thursday the 17th for my routine bi-weekly appointment. We also have our breastfeeding class tomorrow night which I'm really looking forward to. I'm hoping I feel more confident about my ability after the class.
Questions for the group: Anyone else notice their heart racing at times for no reason? I used to be on a medication for rapid heart rate, and I'm wondering if it's a flare in my condition or a normal part of pregnancy. Planning to bring it up with my doctor on Thursday.
GTKY: Are you practicing any comfort techniques for labor at home with your partner? Nope. We are still woefully unprepared.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: This past weekend was actually surprisingly rough. I was fine Saturday, then Sunday felt wicked nauseated and slightly dizzy all morning at church. I was ok during supper with my family then went to BJ's to get my son the rest of his big boy bed so he wasn't sleeping on a mattress on the floor anymore. We did a fair amount of walking around, but I have been so active, I didn't think anything of it. Then, we got home and were planning on going out for dinner since I had no desire to cook. I was helping my son on the potty before we left and felt super dizzy, sat down on the bathroom floor and thankfully was able to crawl to the big toilet before vomiting. MH freaked out and started cleaning up toys in the playroom randomly while completely avoiding eye contact with me and mumbling about having to whip something up for dinner. I insisted that we could go out for dinner still, but every time I stood up, I felt dizzy again. I flopped on the couch and fell asleep at 6:00pm while my son and MH had cereal and watched a Curious George DVD. I ended up waking up and stumbling upstairs to bed at 10pm, but MH was in my son's bed, snoring away. I left him there and had the whole bed to myself. I still feel wicked off, but no nausea or dizziness so that's definitely a positive.
Upcoming Appointments: I probably should've called my OB yesterday, but I figured I was just tired. I do have a routine appointment tomorrow so again I feel weird calling today just to report that I feel tired, which I know is completely normal. I can make it to tomorrow so I think I am fine.
Questions for the group: Is anyone else feeling completely thrown by DST this year? It has never been a big issue before, but now is really kicking my butt!
GTKY: Are you practicing any comfort techniques for labor at home with your partner? I think MH might have PTSD from my previous birth experience as evidenced by his bizarre behavior when I felt a little sick this weekend. Honestly, if anyone needs comfort and calming techniques, it is him!
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: The sciatic nerve pain was intense last week, but yesterday was the first day without it in awhile. Still feeling pretty worn out after walking long distances. We went to the mall & Costco yesterday and I was pooped afterwards! Other than that I doing well.
Upcoming Appointments: Today at noon! Hoping nothing out of the ordinary happens.
Questions for the group: @sarawifenow - yoga ball exercises might help. @Aquinna82 - this happened to me at the end of my last pregnancy and my doctor told me it was normal. Definitely bring it up to your OB! GTKY: Are you practicing any comfort techniques for labor at home with your partner? Last pregnancy, we took Lamase classes which I highly recommend. We haven't talked about it yet this pregnancy, but I think he is pretty confident going into L&D with me.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Raves: Baby moving! Had my 3D/4D US yesterday. That was amazing.
Symptoms: I've had a slight headache every day for the past 3-4 days. It goes away but it's usually there in the morning. Yesterday it went away but came back at night.
Upcoming Appointments: Next Monday.
Questions for the group: None
GTKY: Are you practicing any comfort techniques for labor at home with your partner? We are taking Lamaze classes. Other than that, we aren't really doing anything.
Me: 31
DH: 29, SA - Great

Diagnosis: Hypothalamic Amenorrhea
Treatment: Clomid: 50mg, 100mg, 150mg - not successful and not monitored
@laurenmdrn16 DST is hitting me really hard this year. I am so exhausted that I keep dozing at my desk. Also, I hope you're feeling better! It might be that you just overdid it this weekend. Definitely bring it up to the Dr tomorrow!
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Felt babygirls hiccup for the first time last night.. I made me tear up a little; I told SO I was sad because it made me feel bad she had the hiccups. It didn't understand why it made me sad. I had to explain that I don't like when I get the hiccups so she probably doesn't like having hiccups either. Lol, I was having mixed emotions about her hiccups last night.
Upcoming Appointments: Next Thursday... we are down to our every 2 weeks appointments. Just normal OB checkup.
Questions for the group: None.
GTKY: Are you practicing any comfort techniques for labor at home with your partner? Nope... we are just going to wing it
Week/Fruit: 33/ cauliflower blossom? That seems small
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: still in the hospital in bed rest, not sure how long that will be. Their movements and what not in general are just way more uncomfortable now for me.
At most only 3 weeks until we meet them though!!
Upcoming Appointments: well if we go home, our next one is Thursday. Otherwise we see the doctor daily here
Questions for the group: none
GTKY: Are you practicing any comfort techniques for labor at home with your partner? not reallly. He tries to help me breathe through contractions and generally support me through some of the pains. But nothing specific
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Am I bad person if I say that feeling his movements is a rant and a rave? I love knowing he's moving around in there but sometimes, now that he's running out of space, the movements are jarring and can be very uncomfortable bordering on painful. Other rant: I had a stomach bug or else I ate something bad this weekend and spent all of Saturday sick as a dog. While H was away on business. Sucked.
Upcoming Appointments: Friday for a routine appt.
Questions for the group: For STMs who have taken Lamaze, did you find it actually helped you while in labor?
GTKY: Are you practicing any comfort techniques for labor at home with your partner? At our birth class they showed us some stretches, breathing techniques and massage. TBH, I didn't find it that helpful and doubt I'm going to be glad I did the class once the time comes. I'm actually starting to hope my water breaks so they admit me ASAP.
Week/Fruit: 30/Cucumber (tomorrow)
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Rant - had some bright red bleeding for a few days so I had to go in to be monitored. They showed I was contracting so they gave me steroids for baby's lungs, and said my outer cervix was at 1cm, but inner was closed (didn't know they measured two different places?). Was put on modified bed rest until my appt tomorrow for further review.
Rave - because I wasn't having contractions yesterday, I was able to come to work (desk job) and sit on my ball. I need to be out of the house - kudos to everyone who has to go through bed rest at all - you mamas are strong.
Symptoms - spotting, achey (my vag hurts), and now my butt is achey with those shots!
Upcoming Appointments: Tomorrow for U/S and 30 week check up.
Questions for the group: How soon does the inner cervix follow the outer cervix in terms of opening? Never realized they measured in two places so I'm curious now.
GTKY: Are you practicing any comfort techniques for labor at home with your partner? I haven't been.... but I'm about to go read everyone's answers to steal some!
@Aquinna82 - Questions for the group: Anyone else notice their heart racing at times for no reason? I used to be on a medication for rapid heart rate, and I'm wondering if it's a flare in my condition or a normal part of pregnancy. Planning to bring it up with my doctor on Thursday.
^^I had this issue ALOT in the second trimester - I have a heart condition too so I was freaking out, but my doctor said heart palpitations are fairly common in pregnancy, and as long as I rested and it went away after a few minutes, I was fine.
Definitely let your doctor know, but mine is nearly gone now. You are farther along than me so maybe if you take on more blood at those weeks, it comes back?

@hellogoodbye2@aliciaD39 Thanks!! That's good to know...I was getting nervous because I know the particular medication I was on was not safe for pregnancy. I weaned off of it in order to get pregnant and I haven't had any issues until 2 weeks ago when it started racing periodically without stimulation.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Acid reflux, exhaustion, still can't breath! I think baby boy had another growth spurt though, because I can feel a difference in movement strength.
Upcoming Appointments: Tomorrow, normal OB.
Questions for the group: Not at the moment
GTKY: Are you practicing any comfort techniques for labor at home with your partner? Not yet.. I'll be looking for ideas on this thread, though!
@Aquinna82 I've had intermittent heart racing/palpitations throughout pregnancy. I have them off and on when I'm not pregnant, but they're usually worse when I am. My doctor didn't seem overly concerned about it, it since you were on medication prior to getting KU, I think it's definitely worth bringing up!
@laurenmdrn16 Yes, DST hit me hard. It actually had he opposite affect on me. I went to bed an hour earlier than normal?! I think it might just be another wave of 3rd tri exhaustion honestly. And my nausea, which finally went away around 26 weeks, has made a sudden reappearance. Ugh!

Yea the couple times it happened to me I wasn't doing anything. My heart raced and I felt dizzy. I closed my eyes and breathed through it. It's scary, but my doc assured that it was normal especially in late pregnancy. I hope you don't have to experience that again!
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Once again feel like I can't complain too much because it's been a breeze until now, however, little one seems to still be turning and I'm getting a lot of upper rib thumping. My DH has told me to stop making painful faces because it makes him nervous. K.
On a good note - we've secured our in-home care! She's amazing and a street away from us (who could've ever planned for that..!). Now we just need a peditrician....
Upcoming Appointments: On bi-weekly appointments - last appt OB said she was head down but I feel she's horizontal today.
Questions for the group: None that I can think of currently.
GTKY: Are you practicing any comfort techniques for labor at home with your partner? No... Should I?? We have been so lax it's unreal. I am so Type A and don't even know how to handle my lack of freak-out-ness! We took a baby care class but decided to skip the birthing class due to a lot of people saying you typically throw what you've learned out the door and it doesn't go as expected. Trying to not get my hopes up for one form of delivery over the other since I ultimately have no say - baby does!

We opted to take the newborn care class, the breastfeeding class and the infant CPR class. Skipping the childbirth class for the same reason you said...although, it's offered as an online class too and I think about signing up for that occasionally.

We were opposite, we skipped breastfeeding and newborn care class but took the birthing class. I've been a nanny for years so I'm less concerned about newborn care, and I had heard the breastfeeding one isn't good so I didn't bother. I almost skipped birth class but I'm so glad we went. We obviously don't know what's going to happen birth wise, but I think it helped me and SO have a better understanding of what he does that's helpful vs not. Since then I've had lots of contractions and have been in the hospital, but he's way better at knowing what to do without me asking. So while I've already forgotten some of the breathing techniques and he may not remember the massage exactly, we work better as a team. If that makes sense. Not saying it's for everyone, but we are glad we took it. Also he knows how to read a contraction monitor now which he is jazzed about
GTKY: Are you practicing any comfort techniques for labor at home with your partner? My comfort techniques are staying positive that both DH and I will be well into our mat/pat leave when I go into labor (lol), remembering there isn't a lot of planning I can do when it comes to my water breaking, and I think just having a hold of since we've done it before we can do it again.

Questions for the group: Any tips for relieving hip pain?
I've noticed when I have slight support with a pillow wedged under my belly while I lay on my side as well as laying slightly elevated it has helped with the pressure.

I've never had prior problems (not even with my first pg) but have with this pg. They've tried to put me on meds for it but I'm not comfortable with taking them. My pulse is anywhere from 111-114 with PVCs. We're thinking it will go away with birth. I've started breathing techniques to get them to quit.

Week/Fruit: 31/ Pineapple- although according to latest scans she's measuring at 33, so who knows what fruit she really is lol
Rants: please, please, please munchkin leave my ribs alone! Also, swelling sucks. Raves: As much as she plays in my ribs, I love feeling her move and roll. Symptoms: Swelling, insomnia, and hip pain. Random fatigue has hit and I'm not impressed.
Upcoming Appointments: Friday for 3 D/4D scan.
Questions for the group: None.
GTKY: Are you practicing any comfort techniques for labor at home with your partner?
@Aquinna82 My heart has raced a few times for no reason at all. Dr. said unless it increases I shouldn't be worried.
@sarawifenow Ive been having MH either apply pressure I circular motions or roll a tennis ball on my hip. So far it's been helping enough for me to fall asleep.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: All the symptoms, ever...to include: leg cramps, tiredness, peeing 30 times a day, can't sleep, swelling, pressure, kicking in all the wrong places, etc.
Upcoming Appointments: 3/24
Questions for the group: None
GTKY: Are you practicing any comfort techniques for labor at home with your partner? Negative. I figure if I haven't done anything by now to prepare, it probably won't be too helpful to try and cram it in at the last moment now.
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Mostly raves...I just love feeling her dancing around. Of course, I'm tired and cranky and fed up with heartburn, insomnia, and random third-tri nausea. But overall, I'm feeling pretty good.
Upcoming Appointments: Regular OB appointment next Monday.
Questions for the group: Regarding classes -- we're taking them all. Childbirth class, Baby Basics class, and breastfeeding class. It's not so much that I will remember everything (or anything) when the time comes, but I seriously feel like I don't know anything.
GTKY: Are you practicing any comfort techniques for labor at home with your partner? Nah. We hired a doula for that.
I remember someone saying this a few weeks back... Last night I woke up from dead sleep to running into the bathroom bc I was gagging/about to throw up. WTF causes that?
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Am I bad person if I say that feeling his movements is a rant and a rave?
GTKY: Are you practicing any comfort techniques for labor at home with your partner? At our birth class they showed us some stretches, breathing techniques and massage. No, you're not. lol I keep waiting for it to start hurting, then I think I probably won't enjoy it as much.
We took a Lamaze/birthing class the last two Mondays. I think the breathing techniques are helpful. Most of the birthing positions we went over I already knew. The massage my husband learned how to do, though, will probably come in handy. I am with you though I'm not sure it was really all that helpful. I know a little more now than I did before, so I guess that's good.

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: I'm feeling pretty good, physically! I don't feel achy right now although that may change... Only rant is the full-bladder feeling. I feel like I am about to burst all the time. That and over the weekend I started getting these strange uncomfortable sensations in my cervix area (I think). I was sitting on a panel giving a talk and practically jumping out of my chair. Also: I traveled for work over the weekend and I'm back home and so happy to have that behind me. It was a big presentation and I spent many long hours preparing for it. I'm currently binge-watching Netflix on my couch as I write this!
Upcoming Appointments: Today at 3 p.m. in fact. Routine check up: Pee in a cup, weigh-in, heartbeat check.
Questions for the group: The more I read about perineal massage, the more I think it is the smart thing to do. But I don't know...I feel weird. Anyone doing it?
GTKY: Are you practicing any comfort techniques for labor at home with your partner? I want DH to do the perineal massage. Does that count? He hasn't yet because I haven't really pursued it, but I wonder if I should. I mean, it is supposed to help prevent tearing!
rant/rave/sx: this bundle of joy is getting heavy!!!! My boss has been pretty crapy about my pregnancy but has been really careful about what she actually says so that there isn't any clear dirt on her...
?'s n/a
GTKY: yes Bradleybirth classes and practicing physical, emotional and mental relaxation techniques w/ the husband... I confess we don't do them daily but we get it in a few times a week.
I remember someone saying this a few weeks back... Last night I woke up from dead sleep to running into the bathroom bc I was gagging/about to throw up. WTF causes that?
not a fan.
this happens to me from reflux. that would be my best guess for you too. zantac is my savior.

No, although we probably should.
5.5.16 | 8.14.17 | 1.30.19
Rants/Raves/Symptoms: Mostly raves...I just love feeling her dancing around. Of course, I'm tired and cranky and fed up with heartburn, insomnia, and random third-tri nausea. But overall, I'm feeling pretty good.
Upcoming Appointments: Regular OB appointment next Monday.
Questions for the group: Regarding classes -- we're taking them all.
GTKY: Are you practicing any comfort techniques for labor at home with your partner? Nah. We hired a doula for that.
not a fan.

DS: Born 5-17-16
