    How many weeks today?
    14

How big is baby (fruit size or other)?
    Lemon

    Rants/ Raves/ Symptoms?
Had horrible LLQ pain for a few days last week. I think it was a combination of a few things. I had been fighting a sinus infection that I was sure I'd get over on my own but once my tear duct got infected I realized it was worse than I thought so I started Amox and that didn't really touch it so I switched over to a Z pack. It started working really well and caused some crazy strong sneezes. Like yelling at the top of your lungs sneezes where my voice was hoarse after. And I was peeing a little when I sneezed so I was trying to clench as best as possible. Well the sneezing and the clenching combined with a combo of diarrhea and constipation from the antibiotics probably just had everything sore in that area. I dont think it was RLP because it wasn't related to when I moved. It was a constant aching. Finally easing up.

hubby has Shingles on his face of all places so he's not up to much of anything. I think we would usually meet for a drink otherwise. I'm sending our 2.5 to school wearing green every day this week in celebration. Next year I might do St. Patrick's Day pictures with at least the baby, maybe both of them because I got the cutest 6 month old photos and St. Patrick's photo of my first. I'd like to repeat that. :-)

How big is baby (fruit size or other)? A mango

Rants/ Raves/ Symptoms? Still almost daily cramping, but I went to the doctor last week and got an exam + surprise ultrasound and everything checked out. We found out we're having a little boy and we're both getting really excited!! I've also felt a lot more energetic the past week, although daylight savings kicked my butt this morning!

Questions? In regards to baby clothing, will baby need long sleeves/pants in newborn size? I live in the mid-Atlantic region, so August is generally pretty warm. I wasn't sure if I should be getting mostly short sleeve things or if the baby will need lots of long sleeves and pants? Any input is appreciated!! We've been going to yard sales and have a local consignment sale coming up this weekend!

GTKY: With St. Patrick's day coming up, are you doing anything to celebrate? What would you like to do when it's baby's first St. Patrick's Day next year? We don't usually do anything to celebrate St. Patrick's day other than wear green. Sometimes we get a drink. It is one of my best friend's birthday and we used to always celebrate but now that I don't live with/near her, it's basically another day. I'm not sure if we'll do any traditions with the baby or not!

I wouldn't stock up on many NB clothes at all. A few sleepers and onesies. Most babies either never fit into them at all or outgrow them very fast. My son only wore NB for 2-3 weeks. Focus on 0-3 and 3-6m stuff.

How big is baby (fruit size or other)? Mango

Rants/ Raves/ Symptoms?  I am finally feeling/looking pregnant, which I am absolutely thrilled about!!  Had some unpleasant cramping this weekend and some other aches, but nothing too bad yet.  Side sleeping sucks (belly sleeper here).  Our 20 week ultrasound is next Tuesday and I just want it to be here!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am overwhelmed by the baby registry thing.

    Questions?

GTKY: With St. Patrick's day coming up, are you doing anything to celebrate? What would you like to do when it's baby's first St. Patrick's Day next year?  Not likely...the hubby will be at work (he is a firefighter so he works a 24 hour shift)...probably just relaxing!  Not sure what we'll do next year with the little one.

    Questions?

GTKY: With St. Patrick's day coming up, are you doing anything to celebrate? What would you like to do when it's baby's first St. Patrick's Day next year? I'll probably just cook some corned beef for dinner. We've never really done anything huge. Not sure if we'll start any new traditions with the baby next year or not.

Rants/ Raves/ Symptoms? my last pregnancy I had really bad hemmorids. I thought I might not get them this time, but today I am so constipated, I just know that the roids will be following... time to go buy some prunes.
Also just got my u/s scheduled and bummed that the only day they have available is April 7 which is 3.5 weeks from now... boo.

How big is baby? Sweet potato

Rants/Raves/Symptoms: I've developed sciatica, which is really painful! And my hips are in so much pain when I try to sleep since I can no longer lay on my back. I'm also feeling more dizzy than usual. But I can definitely feel baby moving now! That's been a huge relief to me.

    Questions?

GTKY: St. Patrick's Day is a HUGE deal where I live and since I work for the local paper I have to work. No one is ever allowed that day off. I never look forward to it but it is fun listening to the police scanner all night and hearing how many people jump in the river, get arrested for public urination or sex in public. There's always something interesting. Next year I hope to live and work in another place so I won't have to think about it.

@mamarusaw yes! Unfortunately I am experiencing a huge increase in discharge. I had to break down and get some liners because there's so much. I was really worried about it too and still worry sometimes. But I was told it was normal as well.
  • How many weeks today? 20 weeks!

How big is baby (fruit size or other)? Bump says Banana :)

Rants/ Raves/ Symptoms? Feeling really emotional! DD seems so big (she's 2.5 yo) and it's breaking my heart. I feel like I need time to stand still for a little bit once this sweet boy arrives.

    Questions? Not right this second

GTKY: With St. Patrick's day coming up, are you doing anything to celebrate? What would you like to do when it's baby's first St. Patrick's Day next year? We celebrate my in-laws anniversary on St Pattys day, it will always be that way

I agree. I brought my first home Aug 30th, 2013 and we love to keep out air conditioning really cold in the summer. I had the baby in fleece footie pjs most of the time that first month until we could turn off the AC. Tiny little babies are so floppy and don't wear pants and shirts that well so for the dozen or less newborn outfits I'd stick to one piece sleep n play or footie pjs. Maybe a couple onesies with matching pants. Then about the same for 0-3 and 3 month. Otherwise aim for 6 month and 9 month clothing. He'll be in it before you know it!!

  • @jacmkelley I agree! My 2.5 yr old just got his first big boy bike. Slow down kid! I know I'll appreciate his independence at 3 yrs old when the baby arrives but man I miss some of the cute baby stuff he did. I remind myself I get to experience it all over again with this baby boy. :-)

How big is baby (fruit size or other)? Video Game Controller

Rants/ Raves/ Symptoms? Lots of RLP from constant sneezing (thank you allergies). Oh and my favorite part of pregnancy: breast pain. It seems to be worse and earlier this time than it was last time. Plus I'm leaking... So there is that. Oh boobs... I can't wait until you are just normal and mine again. Positive thing: my anatomy scan is next week and we can finally figure out pink or blue!!! I seriously can't wait any longer.

GTKY: With St. Patrick's day coming up, are you doing anything to celebrate? What would you like to do when it's baby's first St. Patrick's Day next year?

We don't usually do anything crazy. My ILs make corned beef and cabbage and we usually go over to their house for dinner. it's not a big holiday for us so we probably won't add any traditions in once new baby is here.

On a somewhat side note, have you seen those leprechaun traditions people do for kids? Like green pee in the toilet? lol

  • @court5608 DD was born in October but I live in Arizona and it's still really hot here around that time. We put her to sleep in long sleeved onesies because she would scratch the crap out of her face at night. The long sleeved onesies have built in gloves. I guess you could get by with just regular onesies and mittens too. Regarding sizes, it totally depends on your child. I think picking up two of those carters 5-packs of onesies are nice to start. You don't really need a bunch of cutest outfits when they are in the newborn stage because you'll most likely just be at home battling blowouts.

  • @cepricco I feel you! My OB told me to sleep in whatever position is comfortable so I'm still doing a belly-ish/side sleep until this bump tells me otherwise. During my last pregnancy, I used to sleep on this huge pregnancy pillow in a v shape so I could strategically place the bump in the gap and still somewhat belly sleep into my third trimester. Maybe it's time to break it out again.

  • @justaudrey Thanks for the advice! I know sizing will depend all on how big little one is, I was more wondering about the short vs. long sleeves so that is helpful! Thank you! :)
  • @JournoGrl23 I literally freaked out Nd thought I was leaking amniotic fluid it was so much. Dr rushed me in immediately and goes "yeah that's all just discharge". He tested & did an internal check. We also got to have another ultrasound and see baby so I won't complain about that
  • @mamarusaw I'm glad they checked you and it's just discharge! That's a relief to know. I had a freak out yesterday because my discharge increased and was watery and clear and odorless. I called my OB in a panic thinking it was amniotic fluid. Since I wasn't in any pain other than normal RLP, they weren't concerned. I still wish they would have checked, though.

That's exciting you got an extra ultrasound out of it!
