Wedding Rings

Hello ladies :)

So I'm almost 3 weeks postpartum (will be on Tuesday) and almost all, if not all, of my swelling has gone down. I've lost about 30 pounds of the 40 I gained, and generally am feeling well. My wedding rings and another ring I always wear on my right hand STILL won't fit!!! Basically my question is anyone else? Is it too soon to think about getting them resized? When, if ever, will my fingers go back to normal?? I'm so OCD and not wearing my rings these past 3 months has been killing me!

I forced mine on a couple of days after returning home from the hospital. I swelled really badly towards the end of pregnancy and while in the hospital after my c section. While I feel like my swelling is gone, my rings used to fit slightly loose and now I doubt I could pull them off if I tried. I figure my body still has a ways to go before returning to normal so I'm thinking my fingers (and yours) will eventually be back to where they once were. I'm banking on the idea that they won't get any bigger than they are now. Let us hope! The weird thing is that my feet and legs are already thinner than they were pre-pregnancy so I'm not sure why my hands haven't followed suit.

  • I am 5 weeks PP and my rings still don't fit. I've lost most of my baby weight and my feet and akles aren't swollen anymore, just my hands. I really want to wear my rings too, I really like them.
    I am 27, DH is 26.

I haven't actually tried to put mine on, so used to not wearing them now! Think finger swelling takes a bit longer, one of my friends got hers resized.
  • I hadnt been able to wear mine since about month six of Pregnancy but at 4 weeks postpartum I was finally able to put them back on
  • I shoved mine on at 1.5w PP (in the morning, when there was no swelling), but I wouldn't be able to get them off if I tried. I think it was about 6w PP before they fit last time.

  • Ok thanks everyone! I'm going to hold off getting them resized just yet. I tried to shove them on yesterday and got my band stuck right below my knuckle. Getting it off wasn't fun! Haha!
  • Glad I'm not the only one with rings not fitting.
  • It's normal to still have swelling in your fingers. With DD1 I wore my rings up to delivery. I lost all the weight pretty much immediately but my rings didn't fit for like a month. Same this time. I can get them on but it's a bit tight. Don't resize them, just wait it out.

  • I'm 6.5 weeks postpartum and mine still don't fit. I've lost all of the 35lbs I gained plus another 5ish pounds. I actually just dropped them off to get resized and have the prongs repaired on the center stone. I just went up a half a size because it was pretty fitted before and I like my rings a little bit loose on my finger. Not to where they are sliding off obviously, but I don't like them too tight.
