Why do people schedule therapy appts and then no show? Seriously, you get a reminder in advance, how hard is it to cancel...thanks dude for making me get up for nothing after not sleeping well.
My boss is still expecting me to come to work (I am a nanny). His kids both have fevers of over 101. Just goes to show how much they really only care about themselves.
I'm struggling with DST too. DD also woke up randomly at 2am asking to read her big sister book. Thankfully she went right back to bed after I put the covers on. I still woke up a couple more times and then snoozed 3 times this morning. zzzzz...

This bothers me also. DH and I use sick time whenever possible when DD is sick. Mind you, we are fortunate and both get paid sick days, but there's no way DD wants to go to daycare when she's feeling like sh*t either. Our daycare provider (I love her to death) actually tells most parents just to send the kids when they're sick which drives me insane. I take a day off work to look after my babe and keep yours from getting sick, yet when yours is sick you send them and DD winds up sick again, us taking time off work and it's just a vicious cycle. I am all for keeping your kids home when they are sick to stop the spread of infection. I know not everyone has paid sick days, but it's only fair. Potentially a UO. And in your case, you don't need to get whatever they have when you're pregnant, by the end of the week you will probably be sick and unable to look after their kids. All of which could have been prevented in the first place if they just looked after their own sick littles.
DH woke me up around 5 (if we hadn't sprung ahead, it would have been 4) because he couldn't find his keys. Needless to say he took my car, and I spent 45 minutes tearing apart the house.
While I was ripping things apart, I decided to throw a load of laundry in the washer. Went downstairs later only to find the laundry room flooded. Apparently MIL left a rubber glove in the sink where the washer drains and it got stuck.
Finally, the internet connection here at home has been ridiculously spotty.
At this point, I'm ready to crawl back into bed and try again tomorrow.
ETA-- found the keys in a shoe. DD is rather sneaky!
Everything work related. One of our other receptionists just quit so now we are down to 2, including me. This girl worked the 2 evenings a week I was not able to, and now I have to pick up an extra shift every week even though it's outside of my availability. She also had taken my shifts the week we're moving so I could pack and help out, and now I have to work instead of move, which I am super upset about. Not that DH isn't capable of handling it by himself, but I still wanted to be there. I guess I should be thankful for the extra money and the fact that I even have a job, but I can't feel like that right now because hormones.
DST is kicking my ass. My alarm went off late (totally my fault), so I was late to work and all of my students are crabby and tired and cranky. The combination of spring fever and DST is making them all terrible terrible monsters. Thank goodness spring break is coming up and I get a week of mental silence.
@born2run911 as a teacher of small children, I appreciate that. I know that not everyone has the ability to stay home when their kid is sick but sending kids to school sick makes it terrible for everyone. It makes the illness spread further/stay in the classroom longer and it makes the teachers sick. And since teachers likely can't take off extended periods of time because they keep getting the same cold over and over and over again it all just stays in the classroom for months. This are getting better now as we inch towards spring, but I can't tell you how many times I've been sick this winter.
My three boys locked themselves in the bathroom today and then managed to break the knob off. Scared me shitless, I managed to burn breakfast while trying to get them out and now I have to go get a new doorknob.
My oldest has a cough and just got done with a 2 day fever. My youngest has been dealing with the cough and fever just started today. I have been dealing with the cough for a few days and my middle kid just started with it today. It has been one sickness after the other since Aug. I'm so over sick kids.
My H is OOT and is waiting on a ship to come in. He just posted a pic on FB of him about to take a nap on the beach. If he weren't so far away I would probably drive out there just to stomp on his balls.

My MIL and I did not get along for a really long time but in the last few years we have been getting along great. So much so that I'm agreeing to having the baby shower at her house. My friend that is planning the shower thinks this is great and is glad we're getting along. But of course, I have that ONE friend who always has something negative to say, you know the wet blanket of the bunch. And she was like, mmmmm you sure about that? And for whatever reason that's making me mad and I want to tell her to STFU and mind her own goddamn business.
@born2run911I feel the same way about keeping kids home. I have the option to bring DD with me, and if she has so much as the sniffles, she stays home with her dad. And they are suppose to tell me when their kids are sick, so I can make other arrangements for DD...so she doesn't get it. I would say about 90% of the time, they don't say anything until I get to work. When I got to work today, I was told that they both no longer had a temp, and weren't coughing or anything. About 30min after I got here, one was clearly hacking, and his temp was already starting to go back up. I guess their temp was 101 last night, and then the boy woke up with a 102 temp, and it "miraculously" went down to normal temp four hours later. Yeah, I call bullsh*t on that one! More like someone doesn't want to take time off to take care of the kids. The crappy part, is they get like 5 weeks of paid time off a year (each of the parents), and they MAYBE take one 2 week vacation a year. So it isn't like they don't have the ability to take time off. I get ZERO paid time off, for anything....so its so annoying.
Everything @elenabrent said...c'mon spring break!!!
Also, I think I've reached the point of not being able to bend over to paint my toenails without being uncomfortable...and that makes me feel fat and annoyed. I'm glad I picked a color that will stand the test of time into summer! Haha
Report cards are due tomorrow!! Least favorite part of teaching! Assessing my poor kindergarten kiddos takes so long and then it takes forever for me to enter all of it into the computer! @born2run911 totally understand your fustration with the sick kids. As a teacher just like @elenabrent said one of my biggest pet peeves is when parents send their kids to school sick, which then infects the rest of us!! So frustrating, plus the poor kids can't focus when they are sick anyway.

Yes! This. I was in the bathtub the other night trying to shave my legs, and it was not a pleasant experience. I can't bend that way anymore.
Went for our A/S today. Babies looked great and everything is normal for twins. But I've gained 20 lbs since early January. Granted, I lost so much weight from being so miserably sick with HG that I was in the hospital when that weight was taken, but it still doesn't make me feel like less of a whale.
I teach at a community college, and had just agreed to take on an extra class (fast track). I found out today it is highschool students. I am not equipped to teach highschool! ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
Wtf Facebook "friends". Stop adding me to groups for your makeup/scentsy/clothing/ItWorks bullshit. I know you sell it. It's all your Facebook is about. If I need/want it, I'll come to you. Why doesn't Facebook give you the option to approve group adds anymore? It's really obnoxious to not know you've been added to a marketing group and then get a ton of notifications for it. Ugh!

YES! And to my one "Facebook friend" who quit her engineering job for a more a "stable" position with origami owl...*sigh*
I set up experiments at a high school. There are 3 of us- a girl, a guy and I. So the girl is my really good friend, and is having a tough time with depression atm so had today off as a mental health day. I have been vomiting non-stop since lunch yesterday so called in sick as well, and then emailed the guy to say I was sick. He replied saying that the other girl and I were just lazy and making him do all the work (which he does none of btw). Anyway he made me feel guilty so I came in. I am miserable. I get here and hes like 'o you shouldn't have come in. It doesn't matter because I'm going out snorkelling all day' (we do a subject called marine science where they go snorkelling once a week and they usually take one of us to help watch the kids). I assumed that since he would have been the only one here, he wouldn't have gone, but no he was planning on leaving the lab empty all day. So I'm pissed about that.
Then one of the teachers came in and asked where her experiment was. She had booked it, but put the wrong date in which we hadn't picked up on so it's not set up and she doesn't have a lab. Anyway she's pissed and acting like it's our fault. She had done the same thing for next period so I've managed to organise a last minute swap so she can do it then, but she's still pissed that we didn't pick up on her mistake.
I finally sort that out, then another teacher comes in asking where his room swap is. He had asked for one last week, and guy had said 'yeah all good we will do it' then never organised it. So I get to pick up his mess, trying to organise moving classes around the school at the last minute. I'm waiting for the deputy to call and get mad at me for being so unorganised.
Annnddd a spider just ran across the floor under my desk and there's no one here to kill it for me. So I am afraid to put my feet on the ground in case it runs up my leg.
ETA: another teacher just came in and said I have to organise the 'birthday list'. Usually it gets organised at the start of the year when everyone's birthdays are and a person to bring a cake in for them. It never happened and we've missed 3 birthdays already. So now I have to organise it which I am super doper excited about.
Daylight saving time and I puked this morning for the first time in three weeks...happy Monday...(and I'll add to being in the report card club this week... )
I can't believe this needs to be said again but folks, it's cool to be proud of your baby. It's a whole other thing when you post their genitalia on a public forum. Sheesh.
Sensitive coworkers are my bitchfest. There has been work drama going down around me for the past few weeks, and I've done my best to not get sucked into it, but I felt like our project coordinator was getting totally unfairly railroaded and now I'm just a ball of rage. Apparently her tone in emails, which come across to me as brief, professional, albiet in shorthand, come across as 'rude', 'attacking', and 'micromanaging' to the new study staff. One got her little feelers hurt and brought it up to our primary investigator, which caused a work meeting where we all figured out our 'personality colors' so we could figure out how to work as a team. Then the two 'emotional blues' on the team had the audacity to say they 'need more help' completing their tasks. Now, I make it a point to ask each coworker, every goddamned day, 'Is there anything I can do for you today that would make your day easier?' If you say 'No', then you don't get to complain that you need help.
And yes, wimpy whiners, I do know how much it sucks to get daily emails from the project coordinator checking on my progress. Want to know how I managed it? I became proactive in reporting to her what tasks I intended to complete that day, what potential issues I had circumvented, and how successful I was in completing my tasks. Because she's my f***ing boss, and it's MY JOB to adapt to how she runs things, not her job to worry about putting enough 'pleases, thank you's, and words of praise in her emails to me.
P.s., you're all older than me, so none of you have the 'sensitive millenial with the participation trophy' excuse.
Edit, because blind rage and exhaustion screwed my grammar.
