Calling all Tricare Momma's!

I'm looking for more info on Tricare's breast pump coverage, or more specifically their breast milk storage coverage. Their website says they'll cover breast feeding storage bags, but I was wondering if that includes the Kiinde storage bags. It also says they'll cover two breast pump kits. What is considered a breast pump kit? Does anyone know anything about this?

There are a few threads about this on the Military Family board. But to get the most up to date info, especially regarding specific brands you should probably call Tricare. I'm a FTM and haven't gone through this yet, but there was lots on info on the Mil Family board.

Thanks! I tried there first, but there wasn't too much about it. One person was able to get Kiinde storage bags covered, but I'm not entirely sure how.

I would just call them and find out. I am not military, so I don't know your insurance, but my insurance says they cover them on their website but no details. That's on my to do list to call them.

I have Tricare Prime and tried to ask my doctor about what they cover, since he works mainly with military families, and he totally dismissed my questions and told me I'll take care of everything breast pump related at the hospital since it's not like I need it before, which drives me crazy cause I hate not being prepared ahead of time. I'm tempted to just call Tricare for more information, seems like the best route for getting accurate answers.

@Knottie44691675 I believe you can also just buy your pump from an approved location (sometimes it has to be a medical supply store, call tricare) and be reimbursed once your doctor gives you the prescription for it.

I have Tricare. I just got my pump. It came with 2 bottles and breast pads, but no bags.

I got a standard medela double electric breast pump within about 24 of my provider sending our prescription. Very easy process and no out of pocket expense for me! They have upgrade options, I believe it was $100+ for the bigger medela pumps. I called tricare for number to mckesson supplier who works with my local target.

I just started this process with aeroflow and they seem like they have a really personalized customer experience. I'm working with one specific person and she seems really on top of it. You could probably call one of the suppliers and they can tell you if certain brands are covered by insurance.
