High-Risk Pregnancy

Selective reduction- please help!!

Has anyone has one on multiples? I am scheduled for tomorrow and really could use some support.

Re: Selective reduction- please help!!

  • I haven't but know of someone who did.  I know it was a very difficult decision but it was what was best for her and her family.  I hope everything goes smoothly tomorrow and sending prayers for peace.

  • @bellaklawvuh and @Sarafuss If you are still following this board.... can I ask at what stage you had the SR done?  Our doctor has told us to prepare for this and it is freaking me out.  We could have a possible 5 babies, however, I'm still pretty early in my 5th week; they will confirm at 6.5 weeks with an ultrasound to look for heartbeats.  I've had two surgeries on my uterus due to other issues (cyst on ovary and fibroid) so I had to do a pre-pregnancy consult with a high risk doctor who said I would be unable to carry 3 babies because my uterus has already been cut (however still a first pregnancy).  They wouldn't really give us any information and just said we needed to wait until 6.5 weeks for the ultrasound.
  • @JWilsonKC I didn't have this done but someone I know did.  She was pregnant with 7 babies and they reduced to twins.  The procedure was done at around 12 weeks I believe.  Good luck to you.
