Sunday... BUM DAY

Anybody else using today as a bum/rest day?

What's your favorite thing to do to unwind or relax?

What is one thing you can't live without at this point in pregnancy?

  • I've been cleaning for 6 hours straight, so not exactly a bum day. But I'm loving every minute! I'm obsessed with everything smelling clean and I basically bought Walmart out of anything "linen" scent. I feel like hardcore nesting. Baths are my current favorite activity to unwind! I'm in love with my tub! At this point I can't live without my prenatal massages every week. Ahhhh the relaxation!!

    3 miscarriages - 1 DS (6) - 1 DD (3)  - #3 due March 30!

  • I drove across town for my favorite cheap Chinese takeout and now H, DS, and I are lounging and watching old Goosebumps reruns on Netflix. I want to be lazy all day but there is something that does not smell right in my entry room and it must be eliminated ASAP. I need to pick a scent and put it in every room in this house again. H wants to have guys over to watch the beginning of the NCAA tournament next week, but not in a smelly house! Noooope!

Oh and my favorite thing to do to relax would be a long hot bath if DS didn't insist on coming in to bug me literally every 5 minutes. I also just like coming home after work and taking a few minutes to stretch out and close my eyes.

I can't do without this recliner that my ILs brought over to our house. That, and good ice water. Lots and lots of ice water.
  • Every day is bum day for me currently as I am about done with everything baby. Did my online grocery shopping for the next two weeks and made yummy spaghetti with meatballs. I am in so much pain when I walk so I've been in bed most of the time watching random stuff on Netflix. I can't wait for baby to be here. Just sent DH out for some Lays salty chips as I am suddenly craving them a lot.

  • I've spent the day running errands and de-cluttering my house. DH got a death glare when he said something about not needing to finish today. Considering my house was clean yesterday, it looks like a disaster zone today so I'm about ready for a mental breakdown...
  • Oh yes, Bum day it is. I have only accomplished taking a nap, meeting my mom for lunch and a shoe carnival BOGO date. Yay for new tennis shoes! But it has been partially successful, I did out a load of laundry into the wash!
  • I lock the door when I shower, otherwise my lovely DD (who is 2) would never leave the door shut! @cmjenkies
  • I WANT it to be a lazy bum day but I can't sit and do nothing for an entire day, never have been able too, even with this uncomfortable bump getting in the way. I'm exactly where @K&Elizabeth is. I am so ready to have him but the other part of me wants him to hold off. We still aren't done doing everything and so we've been doing as much as possible over weekends. But we also want to relax and enjoy the nicer weather, spend time with DS. It's a hard balance with just two days to do it all! I currently can't live without my hot baths. Oh they are my lifesaver at the end of the day....!

  • There is so much I should be doing right now: studying for finals, writing thank you cards, cleaning and organizing...but I have even more stuff to do in video games and it's more fun....
  • I'm waiting on SOMEONE to not be lazy so we can go grocery shopping... Because I can't go by myself anymore. >.> Seriously. We're out of water now.

But Sunday's are like most days for me. I get up, eat, either lay back down in bed, or sit in the recliner and crochet or watch movies, then repeat until I get fiancé from work. Then go to bed. Wash, rinse, repeat, every day.
  • I love to curl up on the couch and watch a movie with the family.  Unfortunately because school seems to be never ending. I am in fact curled up on the couch but with a laptop writing a paper :(
  • I lock the door when I shower, otherwise my lovely DD (who is 2) would never leave the door shut! @cmjenkies
I wish I could but we're home alone most evenings (DH works swing swift). Even though he's 5, if he really needs me I don't want to lock him out. Now if DH was home, it'd be a whole other ballgame, haha.
  • I've had a serious case of the lazies lately, but made blueberry chocolate chip pancakes for the kids this morning, took the fam to church, got to take a solo trip to the library to pick out some new picture books and another Ramona book for DD1, reorganized my upright freezer, and made dinner. Good thing the kids are extra tired today because with the time change, they're going to bed an hour early. Not much relaxing/unwinding going on here, but hoping to get in for a massage in the next couple weeks.

Omg, your life sounds like bliss :)
  • Um...with a two year old who has suddenly decided naps are for the birds, not a lot of bumming going on. I was finally able to convince her to take a nap, and then proceeded to get stuck under her for 2.5 hours in her bed (at least it's a comfy queen!) and every time I tried to move away to stretch a little she snuggled in even more. It was really sweet but I got bored haha. So I also ended up cleaning after, wiped down my whole patio, I don't think Florida has ever had this much pollen around...! Gross!

  • We kinda had a bum day. We went on a mini vacation and drove back home this afternoon. Unfortunately DD got sick over the weekend so she has been pretty miserable. We all had about a 5 hour nap once we got home and DD has been a cuddle bug since we woke up so we did Bum it for half the day at least :)

  • I napped in our old queen bed (that we picked out, but got replaced with a less comfy hand-me-down king) for ALL of DD's nap today plus like half an hour - so like 3/3.5 hours. We did lots of cleaning/projects yesterday and I overdid it so I barely slept from back pain last night. I live for DD's (and my) nap time and the post bedtime hot bath.

I'm with @k&elizabeth on the done with pregnancy but not ready for a newborn front, but am really close to hitting "I'm done and I'll even take the newborn stage". Especially if it means being done with this 1-2 contractions an hour for weeks crap. ;)

  • @imrachellea I know what you mean.  My car is completely covered in pollen!  It looks so dirty, and I just washed it.

Guess that's just a SF issue atm. We haven't gotten it yet. (North Central area)
  • Today was spent watching a crazy toddler, running errands, and sewing. No bum day for me! Probably won't happen until after we get everything unpacked.

Nope, its a south GA issue too. My black car is bright green at the moment. It looks awful, I'm hoping it rains tonight so my car can get a semi washing while I'm parked at work. I hate pollen!!
  • I definitely bum on Sundays. Although its not exactly relaxing, because everything hurts and I have a hard time getting comfortable on the couch. Im in the camp of get this baby out of me asap!!! I Bought 4 bottles of wine on Saturday to use as "light at the end of the tunnel" motivation for when I'm feeling extra achey or congested. I just look at those bottles in the wine track and tell myself I'm almost to the finish line! Ha!

I was just saying today that I need to do this!
  • Everyday is bum day for me. Although I do give myself a couple of small tasks everyday so I don't feel like a total bum.

My favourite thing is when SO is being a bum with me. We like to sleep in, cuddle, ponder the food delivery menu, listen to music and watch random stuff. All this lying down or semi-reclined.

I can't live without my maternity pillow. I wouldn't be able to sleep without it. I also can't live without SO. I feel so vulnerable these days and he always does his best to take care of me.

  • I guess I should have clarified, I also only lock the door when DH is home. I also try to sneeze in a shower during nap for in the morning while she is still sleeping. @cmjenkies
