GTKY: What big project would you like tackle next in your home or yard? I would love to have a nicer outdoor living area. Right now we have a few cheap pieces of patio furniture (they do the trick) but it looks pretty piece meal.
@cdnrunning I'm with you on the rant (#1). Who the hell came up with DST?! And, awesome news from your U/S!
How far along are you? 25 + 1
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: My decent sleep from Friday night was just a tease. Last night was brutal. I'm so tired & so sore. I'm very happy that I don't have to spend today prepping for work this week, though! Symptoms wise, it's all the usual. Heartburn (ugh), sore/achey, bloated & gassy.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? I'm going to wash what I have of his clothing today, then work on organizing his closet & dresser a bit.
GTKY: What big project would you like tackle next in your home or yard? We're re-doing our laundry room in 2 weeks, over Easter weekend. It's not the biggest room, so we'll be adding some cupboards, shelving, a counter above the washer & dryer, & hopefully a rod to hang clothes to dry in an attempt to maximize space. H also wants to do a backsplash in the kitchen before baby.
Rant: my kids are determined to get up at 5am every single day.
Rave: I scheduled a prenatal chiropractor appointment in a couple weeks, and I'm really hoping it will help with my back problems
im trying to line up people to watch my kids for delivery, but apparently half the people I know are going to be out of town in June. I'm hoping to pick up new bottles this week and maybe start packing mine and the kids bags. We are also arguing endlessly about names, but can't decide at all.
GTKY: this winter out front steps cracked a little (cement steps) so we need to address that first. Also the fence in the back yard is leaning and we need to get a new post and correct it. I'm hoping we can do both of these before baby girl arrives.
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Symptom is I can't sleep!! And then am tired all day Rave is it's Sunday and I have no plans other than lunch with the ILs
What are you doing to prepare for baby? I'm going to start my birth plan today. Basically no to everything haha.
Questions? What does the OB/midwife do vs pediatrician? Who does the vitamin K shot? Eye ointment? Did the pediatrician see baby while still in the hospital? The hospital I'm giving birth at will not be associated with our pediatrician so I'm confused by a lot. And like... How do we add the baby to my husband's insurance before he/she is born? Or do we not have to? So many unknowns! I asked my midwife some ?s but didn't really receive any more clarification.
GTKY: What big project would you like tackle next in your home or yard? We are getting a fence installed on April 4th and 5th and I can't wait (pending HOA approval which is taking foreeever). Our backyard as is isn't very private. We can only do 4 ft due to HOA rules, but better than no fence! I also want to plan some evergreen trees against the fence on the street side for more privacy.

Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Rant: daylight saving, this is the worst part of spring, but then comes the flowers and birds, so I'll get over it. Rave: woke up to a dance party this morning! Hi baby! Symptoms: I was having this weird left thigh pain, almost felt like I had done the splits (I assure you, that did not happen). Took some Tylenol last night and it seems to be better this morning. Yay!
What are you doing to prepare for baby? I have my church baby shower today, very excited and grateful! I need to go buy some cute thank you cards!
Questions?
GTKY: What big project would you like tackle next in your home or yard? I have very little that I want to accomplish before the baby comes, because I'm a realist. There's a baseboard project a year and a half in the works and we have 1 room and a hallway left to do. I'd really like to be able to park in my garage again. Sigh.
@DeePaddy24 the laundry room is on my list too! For us, it also serves as the entry from the garage and space is very limited. I've been "pinteresting" for inspiration @AmberLiz99 I look at our fence (some parts are very new, others - not so much) and just pray the fence fairy will miraculously make it all better lol
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Rave: went to a pig roast at my in-law's yesterday. It was delicious, and we all went home with a gallon bag of leftover pork. Win.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Nursery paint today or tomorrow Assemble crib Organize stuff
GTKY: What big project would you like tackle next in your home or yard? Home: After finishing our kitchen reno, we need a new HVAC unit. We won't be doing that install, so the "project" will just be making a phone call and writing a check
Yard: Landscape the backyard. Add grass to some areas, and meadow a shady area with wildflowers where there's no prayer of grass ever.
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Rant: Ordered an obus forme back rest from Amazon that massages and even though I put brand new batteries in it, it doesn't work I didn't really care if it massaged, but now that I know it's an option, I'm sad that it doesn't work. Considering sending it back if there isn't too much hassle involved. Rave: Amazing comfortable sleep last night! I have no idea where it came from because my sleep on Friday night was total garbage. Symptoms: Feeling large and round! Also, sadly, constipation. I was going to try a laxative/stool softener but I can't eat gluten and all of those products have pictures of wheat on them... I think @mkemommy and @Sgoldberg247 are gluten-free too? Any suggestions for a product or food to help?
What are you doing to prepare for baby? DH suggested working on the baby's room yesterday so we rearranged the furniture, set up the diaper genie and the aquarium mobile thingy, and put some things away in the drawers. We also looked at recliners and think we have found "the one"!!! So fun and exciting.
Questions? Can't think of any...
GTKY: What big project would you like tackle next in your home or yard? I don't really have any large projects in mind. We thought about landscaping the front of our townhouse but feel like it's not worth the money considering this likely won't be our "forever home." At the moment I would be VERY happy to have all of the little projects done instead!
*I didn't participate in time, but I was reading through the Saturday check-in and was very disappointed to see that the first three people named for their terrible music were all Canadian artists! Then I realized that I don't really like any of them either and have decided to toss in Avril Lavigne's name into the mix for good measure.
@samsonator the meds for baby are usually standard orders and administered by the nurses per hospital protocol. Our pediatrician will see the baby 2 days after birth, then schedule routine well visits from there. Your baby has 31 days to go on the insurance (at least with my policy), so your role is to notify them of birth and info (name, date, height, weight, etc.)
@candicek15 isn't amazing how those little projects add up? My H has a bad habit of purchasing everything needed for said project but then never starts them. Sometimes I wonder if he just likes collecting home depot shopping bags with "stuff" in them......
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Rant: today has been a good day so far Rave: I love spring, I live about an mile from an Audubon society, so I get a ton of birds, which I love, and this morning, I have even more of a variety than usual. My cough seems to be letting up, might go for a hike in a little bit Symptoms: usual, heartburn, gas and baby has been extra active this weekend. He woke me up kicking up a storm and is still very active What are you doing to prepare for baby? Adding stuff to my registry
Questions?
GTKY: What big project would you like tackle next in your home or yard? Where to start? We really want to do an addition on our our to make our kitchen and bedroom bigger, but I'd be happy to just get some landscaping done. My yard looks good, but it's huge and I can add a lot of stuff to it, gardens, patio, fountain, ect
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Rant: H has been farting up a storm and it's probably the worst smell to Come out of his butt yet.... And it's not even 8am!! Also, DST sucks ass. Symptoms: fracking heartburn is awful today. Didn't sleep pretty much at all because of it and now I'm all sorts of annoyed with the world. Pass the coffee.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? H needs to buy a shed so we can move some things out of the nursery. We have a queen size bed, fairly new, in there right now, and we don't want to donate or sell it because it's seriously only like 2 years old.
Questions?
GTKY: What big project would you like tackle next in your home or yard? We need to replace the carpet in the living room. The cat decided to be an asshole while we were on our honeymoon and peed in the corner next to our sofa. We didn't catch it until right around Christmas, and by then he had already completely ruined the baseboards and some of the subfloor needed to be replaced. Unfortunately the original carpet we chose was discontinued, and we just haven't gone to pick out a new one.
@samsonator – most insurance companies give you between 30
and 60 days after the baby is born (mine is 60) to get them covered under your policy. Before
that, their coverage is just applied to your policy.
How far along are you? 27w6d
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Rant - the bump website is running incredibly slowly on my computer and it is driving me insane. Also my dog has the shits this morning, looks like I'll be getting pumpkin at the store later. Rave - Major progress is being made in my "stock the freezer with post-baby meals" mission.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? Making a bunch of frozen meals, paint shows up tomorrow so putting primer on next week, thats about it
GTKY: What big project would you like tackle next in your home or yard? Ugh so many things. Our dining room window has a huge crack in it and needs to be replaced, my husband kicked in our door to the garage when he locked himself out of the house and now it has a hole in it, we have a bunch of downed trees that need to be chopped up since we had crazy winds this year. All jobs for H and he is too busy to do any of them. boo.
@Huskerfanz we desperately need to do that too. Where do you even start with that? Are you planning on doing it yourself?
I got a quote from a basement/waterproofing guy when we had some water in our basement. But he said it's just mostly labor with digging so we could do it ourselves, too. H has done some research and I think wants to attempt doing it. We had the locator guys out this weekend looking at where the utility lines are in our yard.
DS 9/2/13 was a BFP from an IUI! Triplets due 6/29/16 also from an IUI!
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: I have so many chores to do today but all I want to do is sit on the couch. Starting to be unable to sleep through the night again due to needing to pee. I had a good run while it lasted.
What are you doing to prepare for baby? After my inlaws leave next weekend I'm setting up our temp nursery (we're moving a few months post baby, so no real nursery) so the dog can start getting used to it and I can start figuring out where everything will go.
Questions?
GTKY: What big project would you like tackle next in your home or yard? I've been working on the yard for when we sell our house. The only big fix I need to look into is the sag in our hardwood floors. I've ignored it too long but I really don't want to deal with it.

@shannonrnbsn enjoy your shower!!! Exciting @AmberLiz99 I started chiropractic last week with massage (which insurance is covering! Woo hoo!) and I have already seen a huge improvement already with my back pain. DST = is after totally messing with my toddlers napping today. I'm tired zzzzzz Damn You!
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Feeling good. Got some more maternity clothes in the mail on Friday, so I've been wearing those. Feeling like I'm getting bigger every day. Baby is kicking a lot, so that's good.
What are you doing to prepare for baby?
Hopefully will paint the nursery the first weekend of April. Signed up for both the infant care class and childbirth class for April.
Questions? How can you tell the difference between the baby kicking or if he has hiccups?
GTKY: What big project would you like tackle next in your home or yard? So are yard looks like crap because my dog and our friends dog used it as a race track back at the end of January after the snow melted and it was warm. So it's a big dirt pit in spots. We might just get a landscaper to take care of it. We also have some downed trees due to the storm in early February.
Evenutally, I want to convert our fireplace to gas. We really don't use it, but I think I would in the winter if it was just a switch we could turn on.
@samsonator you can call your insurance company or ask your husband do ask his HR department. We have our insurance through me, and we have to add the baby withing 30 days of his birth. Its the same as any life event. I think certain nursery charges are covered under the mother, but if you baby needs to have Nicu care or something that isn't routine, you need to make sure they are covered by the insurance, otherwise you'll get a bill.
GTKY: We're moving about two months after baby is born. (I know! ) So we're not going to do much to our home, but we did buy new dressers in order for baby to have his own, and we bought our son a bunk bed so he can have his own bed and stop co-sleeping. We loved co-sleeping but don't see how it'll work with a new baby.
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Rant/Symptoms - Everything hurts. I can't sleep because I'm in pain. My crotch feels punched/bruised 100% of the time. So that's fun.
For some reason only half of my reply posted. (Or else my phone is acting up?) Rave - I think my morning sickness is finally going away!
Getting ready for baby by nesting majorly! Getting our 2 year old's room ready as they will be sharing a room. Looking for bargains on baby stuff too - buying little girl's clothing has been fun!
Project- We are turning our attic into a playroom! Looking forward to having the toys in a special room instead of all over my livingroom!
@candicek15 call Amazon & tell them it doesn't work, they'll likely send you a new one & not make you return the other (or ask them to send a prepaid box if they do request it) generally their customer service is on point so it's worth the try!
@jbailey213 at some point in the next year we'll finish up our family room/play room. I also hope it becomes the place where she keeps her toys and play things. I would really like to keep the adult living room an adult living room - as much as possible. I hope this isn't too unrealistic.
Rant/Rave/Symptoms: Rant: Flu has officially hit our house! I have been off work since Wednesday and in bed for the last 4 days. I have to return to work tomorrow but I still feel terrible. Rave: Our crib arrived!!!!
What are you doing to prepare for baby? We are hoping to set up the crib this week (see above flu).
