Careful What You Wish For...

With our 1st I experienced mild lightheadedness from the very beginning, in fact it was my first clue that I may be KU.  I tested early and found out that I was!  What I wonderful feeling...soon after I began to get the tingly/sore feeling in my breast and began to feel very tired All Of The Time!  I was fortunate to not really get any morning sickness and when I did it was super mild and didn't last long at all and that made me happy; after all I had sore breast and felt exhausted so I "felt" pregnant.  I remember reading a few post on my BMB at the time with people saying they had zero symptoms and were worried because of it and I recall myself thinking "lucky you"...

Well fast forward to present day and we are now expecting #2 and the only symptom I have is some mild cramping and now I'm the one that can't help but feel a little worried.  I didn't get it then but I do now and so the saying holds true...be careful what you wish for.  I'm sure everything is fine and I realize every pregnancy is different but I guess now I am wishing I did have a little reminder that the baby is there.  I didn't mind the small symptoms I had with our first and I wouldn't mind them now either...just to have something you know?

I may regret saying all of this in a few weeks lol but for now it's how I'm feeling.  Anyone else in my boat?

Re: Careful What You Wish For...

  • You are not alone in this!  I'm going through the exact same thing.  Just keep reminding yourself exactly what you said above: that every pregnancy is different and try to stay positive!  Maybe we will be eating our words in a couple weeks!   ;)

  • I feel just shitty enough. I would like to stay at this level, but I'm worried for the next couple weeks! Lol

  • I'm with @talkthewholetime; I feel just shitty enough to know I'm pregnant but not shitty enough to be miserable.  I'd be perfectly fine with staying this way for the rest of first tri :) My nausea seems to be getting worse this week...so I think full on MS is in my near future.  That's okay though, I will gladly take all the symptoms.

I have been pregnant 3 times.  1 ended in miscarriage and the other 2 in my daughters. TBH, the symptoms were much stronger in my miscarriage pregnancy than in my other 2. So for me symptoms had nothing to do with viability.

That being said,  I'm still happy to be feeling symptoms right now.  :-)

  • I understand that! I've been a little bit nauseous until yesterday, which of course has be all kind of nervous. It so much more comforting when you can actually feel the baby moving inside your belly!

  • @mollysm I know every pregnancy is different, but I was unbelievably sick day in and day out last time and that ended in a mc. This time I have barely any symptoms so far. It makes me nervous to not "feel" anything but sort of relieving that Im not the only one in this situation!

Confession: I tested again last night just to reassure myself.
  • I'm exactly here right now. I thought things would ramp up at 6 weeks, but so far ... nothing new. Just something else to worry about before the first appointment next week!
  • @honeybeewebb2424  - I'm planning on testing again today too :-)

  • I was feeling the same way. Today I'm super nauseous. I wish I was still feeling as good. As I was yesterday.
  • @honeybeewebb2424 LOL if that's a confession, I should fess up. I have tested every day except one.

  • So happy Im not the only one! My H comes home to find a new one on the bathroom counter every couple days. I just need the reminder because for some reason it still hasn't fully hit me yet!
  • I have moments of feeling very good and moments of pure exhaustion and cramping. I am also trying not to worry about the next 8 weeks but it's tough. Trying to focus on what we can control!
  • I'm with you!  If I didn't have a positive pregnancy test to show for it, I wouldn't believe I'm KU right now.  I had no morning sickness or real symptoms whatsoever with my first either, and remember thinking "well, if we ever have another one clearly I'm going to be miserable next time."  Not the case - I feel great, perhaps just a little more tired than usual.  Like to the point where I'm almost annoyed by it.  Luckily with my first having no symptoms was not any indication that anything was amiss.  I think that's the reason I'm not as worried this time around.  Still very anxious to hear the HB though!

  • @citygirl17 I'm glad it wasn't an indicator of anything with your first, you're very fortunate twice then.  Thanks for chiming in, it helps to read these because that's all I have at the moment...a positive test.

  • I feel like I totally jinxed myself. Up until today I had been feeling hardly any symptoms at all. Anything I was experiencing was so minimal, which kind of worried me because I didn't feel pregnant. Well you're right, be careful what you wish for! I woke up early this morning feeling SO nauseous I can't believe I haven't actually gotten sick. The smell of everything in my house is killing me. Trying to force myself to eat crackers but nothing seems to make this nausea go away.
  • Chiming in - me too!   Other than maybe some cravings for spicy food and a little bit of crankiness, I have no symptoms.  Now that I'm over 6 weeks, I have a little bit of the "heavy uterus" sensation.  But that could be in my head.  This is Baby #3 and all 3 have been this way.  The fatigue set in with my first two around 7-8 weeks I think, so maybe that is coming.
