Pregnant after a Loss

What are you drinking?

I've mostly been drinking Gatorade and ginger ale, but they aren't quenching my thirst. The thought of drinking water turns my stomach though. Maybe I'll get some fresh lemons to put in my water.

Re: What are you drinking?

  • I'm a huge water person like a gallon a day water person. I'm not a fan of our tap water though so we use a filtered water pitcher don't know if that would help you at all. My friend used to hate the taste of water too and did lemon in it and eventually she didn't need the lemon.
  • I normally love water, it's all I usually drink. It just makes me nauseous when I'm pregnant. I'm definitely going to try putting lemon in it.

  • lemon water is all I drink
  • When I was in the nausea stage I drank lemon water, very icy cold water, watered down lemonade, peppermint tea, ginger tea with lemon, and ginger ale. It varied depending on what sounded okay at the moment.

  • I second the icy water, lemon water and watered down lemonade. The thought of plain water at a normal temp makes me BLEGH right now, but the aforementioned definitely help! I've also just been chewing on ice chips.

  • LaCroix. I can't get enough of it. With my loss, I drank the fake beer and wine at social events and it blah, what I really want is a flavored LaCroix when I'm pretending to drink. I'm trying to stay away from anything with sugar in it. Also, raspberry leaf tea which is supposedly the best tea to drink while pregnant.
  • I wish my answer could be a beer because I realllly want a beer. But I try to drink a lot of water, sprite, milk, on, etc. I feel like water makes my heartburn worse which sucks because I have it in my mind that I need a lot of water so I feel bad if I don't drink much.

I survived on sprite for a short period of time when i could barely manage to get a bottle of water up to my mouth without gagging. I def tried to drink water but for awhile there i really struggled. I usually don't drink many sodas so I wasn't thrilled about it but i had to do something. I can't remember if i tried lemon water.
  • I wanted to add that if you have a really bad taste in your mouth, icebreakers mints help. If you can get rid of the bad taste, your drink might taste better. Peppermint tea was also helpful with the bad taste. (All the tooth brushing in the world couldn't stop it.)

  • I've been making an effort to drink more water. Peppermint tea has been good too. Flavored sparking water when I get sick of tap water.

  • @CarrieandRoy I had that nasty metallic taste with my first pregnancy. So far I don't have it yet this time. I kept peppermints with me all the time!

  • Water and tea (chai, lemon ginger). Some days I'm thirsty all day, and others less so. Pregnancy is weird.

Ice chips are so delightful but let me tell ya
... I bruised a tooth and tooth ligament chewing this this week and it's utter he'll.
Like HELL.... try not to ;)
