Different Tests

i shouldn't be worried that one test is significantly lighter than another should I? I have been taking FRERs at home and was just at my Primary Drs office who did a test to confirm. They gave me the test and it was a very faint positive. She is also running a Beta (just cause we were doing BW already and I asked her to) but won't find out that number for a few days. Nothing to be worried about right? Guessing the test they use just has a different sensitivity?

I wouldn't worry about it. FRERs are super sensitive which is probably why they were darker than your PCP's test. Also, I'm not sure what tests your doctor uses, but most use cheapie cassettes or strips similar to Wondfo's which are not as sensitive. The Beta is what matters.

I've had FRERs turn positive at a serum beta of 5.8mIU bulk-buy tests, which a doctor's office would typically use, are 20-25 or higher. My FRERs were pretty clearly positive when I had a beta of 24. So yes, most likely just a different sensitivity.

FRERs are highly sensitive (as little as 6.25mIU/ml), most doctors offices use ones pretty equivalent to wondfos (25mIU/ml). Different tests of the same brand can also have different amounts of dye per test, which is why you won't necessarily get a progression, even from the same brand!

Thanks Ladies, it did look like a cheapie cassette so I'm sure that's it. Plus a BFP is a BFP. Looking forward to hearing what the Beta is. They didn't mention doing another to see if it doubles although being that my mom works there if I asked them they probably would. LoL

I work in a PCP office and the tests we use are crap! They're typically cassette style tests and they have horrible sensitivity. I texted my husband a picture when I finally got a positive on a work test and that's when it hit me that I was for sure pregnant - if it was showing up on that test, it was definitely for real.

It was faint but definetely showed up and I'm only 4 weeks 1 day, well 4+2 now but yesterday was 4+1. So I'll just think of it like you said, it's definetely for real now that it showed up on there test. LoL.
