I identify with so much of this, though I count our blessings that our RE's office has been very respectful of our relationship (wonder if legal marriage had an impact on that).
Me- 39 (turning 40 in April), TTC for the first time ever (since Jan 2015), low ovarian reserve
Married 3/14/14 to my wonderful wife, but her sperm count is rather low
TTC with frozen donor sperm and science
7 IUIs, 7 BFNs. 2 IVF attempts, both cancelled and converted to IUI, both BFNs. Decided that my tired old ovaries are ready to retire. Next step- reciprocal IVF, using my wife's eggs, my uterus! fresh 5 day transfer (2 embryos) 4/17/17- BFP! Identical twins "due" 1/2/17 (but anticipated arrival sometime December)
@KLake42- I think a large chunk of my overreaction to this article was based on just how awesome our entire RE's office has been. It probably doesn't hurt that it's an office of nothing but women either but still, they made a note in our file at the original appt that my wife would like to attend as many appts as possible and what her scheduled days off are. They diligently work with me to schedule things around her work. Obviously that can't happen all the time, but making the effort is so much more than I hear about with others horror stories!!
