DH today. I mentioned I was sad bc I get my glucose test results tomorrow and was worried about what I'm going to have to eat from now on if I fail. So before class tonight we're going to get another burger and fries so I can indulge a little (his suggestion)... and hopefully not have that be my last massively carb laden meal for awhile. Hoping I can convince him to stop for ice cream after class too.
I had a dr's appt today. The dr used the ultrasound machine to check the heartbeat so I got to see my little peanut real quick! She's still breech but looked great. I have plenty of amniotic fluid. I scheduled a growth ultrasound so I get to see her more in depth next week!
1) I passed my glucose test & celebrated with ice cream.
2) The weather this week has been amazing! 72° in Michigan in March is the best!
3) This hilarious moment:
First, a little backstory - I'm a social worker that works with high risk population clients in a drug court program. So all of the clients I work with have severe drug addictions, typically are at or below poverty level, often homeless, haven't completed high school/GED, have a lot of trauma, and have committed criminal offenses and are facing prison time if they don't successfully complete their program.
Anyhow, so I've been co-facilitating a group with another coworker since January where we teach clients coping skills, how to set boundaries, healthy relationships, how to ask for help, etc and today was our last group session so we decided to make it a little celebration with food and play a little "game". The game basically was just slips of paper with a scenario on it and they have to tell how they would safely cope with that situation in a healthy and realistic way. Scenarios included high risk situations including someone offering them drugs/alcohol, finding out their child was being sexually abused, someone saying something offensive to them, finding out their SO was having an affair, etc. I promise the "game" wasn't as horrible as it sounds because it's an all female group and there is always lots of laughter and joking. So we decided that myself and the other co-facilitator would also play and ironically the scenario I pulled was "You pick up someone at a bar who wants to have sex without a condom." And it was the most ironic moment that the only pregnant lady in the room pulled the scenario about sex without a condom that everyone started hysterically laughing and joking about "Well folks, this is what happens when you have sex without a condom." or pregnant ladies in bars picking up someone to hook up with, etc and it took a good five minutes to collect ourselves and answer the question. It was definitely a highlight of my day.
@valerie4786 that is an awesome story and kudos to you. It sounds like a very stressful position, but with things like that, you are really impacting people's lives!
Mine is that my annual raise and bonus amount were communicated today- both DH and I get ours later this week and it was much higher than expected! Perfect timing!
This was definitely a winning Wednesday for me because I was full of energy. I began cleaning the house like never before, and once I started it was hard to stop. I began mopping and I had to smell the lemony smell in the cleaner, washing and drying and prepared a scrumptious meal. I need more days like this. Not only did that happen, I had been in search for some affordable automobile insurance and I purchased some today, not only did I get that but also renters insurance. I'm one bad Momma!!!!!
Winning weds and thurs- this weather!!!! 75 and sunny in March! I could do this all winter long. Gorgeous, only it's too bad I have to be at a desk all day.
I missed Winning Wednesday, but it really was a good day! I felt so crappy and tired on Tuesday, to the point where I was questioning how I'd make it to my last day of work. Then yesterday I woke up in a great mood, full of energy, had a great work day, cleaned the apartment, and DH and I ordered a pizza for supper. Super day.
Yesterday I had two wins: I went so Subway and got a chicken, bacon, ranch sub and TWO cookies. My husband ordered wheels for my car and I LOVE them. He's just waiting for my summer tires to come in to put them on my car. He spoils me.
