Pregnant after a Loss

I guess I should grow a pair and do an intro :)

Hello all! I experienced a loss at around 7 weeks on Christmas. I got a BFP 10 days ago, so I am around 5 weeks. I have refused to change over my Bump profile or do anything pregnancy related because I'm convinced I am going to jinx it somehow.  I guess I'm trying to protect myself by not getting too attached to this pregnancy.  I just got my second beta test done, and so far my numbers have doubled nicely, so I decided to take that as a sign that I should suck it up and say hello.

  • Thanks @Books4me23! I got my BFP on Tuesday so I'm still very early and peeing on all the sticks. I posted on the November intro board, the PGAL thread, and the 35+ thread.
  • I've been posting in November. It seems a bit disorganized, but it's still early.

  • @BooksForMe23, things are chugging along. Time is going so slowly, and I just want to fast forward to my first ultrasound. Thank goodness it's in a week and a half.

I have posted a bit on the November BMB. The PGAL thread is full of supportive women, so that's where I usually stay. I'll occasionally post in some of the nonPG related threads, but I'm finding that reading about all these other women who have morning sickness at 4 weeks is just fueling my anxiety. So I stick around here and in that PGAL thread.
  • @RiverSong15The anxiety is tough! I was so tired Tuesday and yesterday I was feeling all the symptoms (tired, hungry, cramping) and then all of a sudden at 8 pm last night I wasn't exhausted any more. So of course I had to take another test this morning when I got up to pee and it took an hour before it was slightly darker than yesterday's test sitting in the drawer. So in that hour, I had all the bad thoughts. I can't remember how I felt at this stage the last time because of course I was naive about the possibility of MC, so I didn't freak out nearly as much about the symptoms coming and going.

Sigh. I need to give up my POAS addiction.

  • Congratulations on your pregnancy!!

  • Congratulations! I waited until 5 weeks to join my bmb and change my Bump status, too. I did join PGAL before that, though. If you're gonna be anxious and paranoid, you might as well share it with people who understand. :)

  • @CarrieandRoy So very true!  I loved the TTCAL board, and I'm excited to be on this one.

@RiverSong15  You'll have to let us know how your ultrasound goes!  I don't have mine scheduled yet, but hopefully they call me soon to schedule it.  I was/am very crazy about the lack of pregnancy symptoms too!  I didn't have any symptoms last time (and clearly that didn't work out well), and so far I don't have much of anything this time either.

@chloe97  I'm with you on the POAS obsession.  The only thing that has been reining in me in is the fact that my doctor agreed to do weekly beta level tests.  So far I've convinced myself that that's good enough (at least this week).
