Why do you deserve a Prego Olympic medal

I feel like I deserve some kind of pregnancy Olympic medal for not puking in my car today. I was stuck in 45 minutes of slow moving traffic on the interstate while wanting nothing more but to puke in a clean bathroom. I somehow made it home (and the wave of nausea passed). Go me!

Why do you deserve a Prego Olympic medal?

  • Because I still go out of my way to try to be intimate with SO as closely to our 'normal' frequency as possible regardless of the fact that the majority of the time I really do not feel like it at first and I get motion sickness.

    **note**
He has not been asking me for or pressuring me into sex. I do it just because.

DH texted me a link to an article about Cadbury creme egg McFlurries.  They are only available in Australia.  I did not reach out over the phone lines and strangle him.

Energetic two year old. Husband out of town. I had the flu last week and I'm STILL coughing up a storm. All-day nausea. Exhaustion. Work. And, oh yeah, hiding all of these symptoms at work.

  • Did not vomit on the new employees at their orientation today. Good job me!

  • Also, not bitch slapping people who spell laser with a zed, even though I really really wanted to. Damn those pesky pregnancy cravings!

I am a 6 hour drive away from Montreal.  This plan does not seem entirely unreasonable to me.  Never mind that I've got an appointment with my personal trainer tonight and my first OB/midwife appointment (and thus first OB/midwife weigh-in) on Monday .  .  .

  • I feel like I deserve a prego mommy medal for baking 8 dozen cake balls last night while my almost 8 month old crawled all over and drove me NUTTS lol ... but I got it done!! I have an event planning and dessert display company so I am trying to get all the baking done for a job tomorrow night. Exhausted is not the word for how I feel today.

  • I ran a F@&$!%# half marathon this past Saturday! Not only did it start at the buttcrack of dawn but it was on a trail,  not groomed,  BLM land, in the middle of the damn desert. (I signed up and trained long before I was KTFU).

I did did get a metal, and 3 days worth of body aches.
That's awesome! I have a half on April 24th, pretty excited. I think I should be 16 weeks which is doable.
  • @OrangeEv That's exciting! Please let us know how your half goes!

  • The neighbor kid ran over my 1.5 yr old with his bike last night, and I did not physically harm him.  (My kid bled from his mouth, but was happy and acting fine within 5 minutes).
  • Still dragging my butt out of bed in the mornings to do my 1.5 hour workout everyday!
  • @OrangeEv yeah!!! I'm excited for you. Good luck! It's so satisfying!! And to top it off doing prego!!
  • Working a 12 hours shift in an intensive care unit on the day my morning (all freaking day) sickness was so bad I vomited all day. Couldn't keep water down, and still cared for my critically ill patients.
  • worked 12 hours with a client driving almost 200 miles. so tired.
  • Because today I woke up, made breakfast (without gagging), had coffee (and actually enjoyed it!)---AND put on makeup, and did my hair too!

I've felt so raggedy the past few weeks.... but not today.  Today I feel awesome!
