Hey Ladies- I am new here :)

Good afternoon ladies!

I am brand new here and figured I would introduce myself. I am a 30 yo , DH has unexplained infertility due to sperm motility issues- DH is about to be 44.

Currently: IVF+ICSI.

Why? Dr says that IUI is not appropriate/won't work for us given the motility /low count.


I have had 2 failed Fresh Cycles, and go back to my dr today to discuss the results of my hysteroscopy. I was taking estrace 4x day, however uterine lining was not increasing past 6mm, Dr wants me to try IM estrogen. Today we discuss that. I am not happy to be here, however who is? BUT- I do like everybody's stories, and encouragement. I know how frustrating this entire process is, and boy have we had ups, and downs in the past year. From terrible dr, to new dr, to issues we didn't know we had, to delayed, or cancelled cycles. Overall, this entire process is stressful, discouraging, and tiring. I am glad to hear everybody's stories, and if you are new here like me, come on introduce yourself :)


I hope to keep everybody updated with my progress.

    Two cancelled IUIs in Aug and Sept '15 due to low motility/count
    IVF round 1: January 2016
    ER: February 17, 2016; 9 retrieved, 7 mature, 7 fertilized
    Day 5 Blastocysts: 5 BB, 1 AB, all normal from PGS
    FET date: May 11, '16; transferred 1 AB embryo
    First beta: May 23, '16: 998!!  Second: May 25, '16: 1648
    EDD: January 27, 2017

    Hi, I'm pretty new too. I have found the stories here very valuable and the idea that other's are going through the same is comforting (even though it sucks.) I'm 40, heathly just old :( and just married actually. DH has cyst blocking his tubes and low motility so we are moving straight to IVF. I'll start my first round of stims hopefully at the end of April with a ER and transfer hopefully the 2nd week of April. I'm already anxious.

    IVF #1 scheduled May 2016 - 375/525 follistim, 75 menopur - cancelled cycle Day 6
    IVF #2 scheduled July 2016 - new protocol, switcharoo...IUI June 2016 - BFN
    IVF#3 scheduled August 2016 - estrogen & testosterone primed for 3 wks - ganirelix 7 days leading up to stim - 500 follistim, 75 menopur, 150 clomid , no follicle growth on day 6, stopped injectibles. Scanned day 9 just to check, some growth, 3 days 200 mg clomid, day 12 more growth, 100 follistim, 75 menopur, start ganirelix on day 13, ER = 0 eggs, ovulated to soon ( :( )
    IVF#4 scheduled Sept 2016 - Microdose Flare protocol, cancelled stim day 6 converted to IUI (one dominant follicle)  :(  IUI cancelled ovulated too soon again. Taking a mental health break.
    IVF#5 December 2016 - New protocol, same results. My adventure is over.

    Hey @KirstenCas,  welcome too :):) sending all good vibes and lots of embryos that are great for transfer!  We are in the same boat.  Expect we went right to ivf w icsi. See you around here

    Clomid round #4 of 150 mg followed by
    First Ovidrel trigger shot February 10, 2016
    First IUI February 12, 2016 Negative
    Started Letrozole 5mg round #1 February 23
    Began additional Letrozole 5mg + Dexamethasone 1 mg March 8
    Ovidrel trigger shot March 16
    IUI #2 March 18 with progesterone suppositories beginning March 19
    Positive HPT April 2 Praise God!!! :)
    Estimated Due Date: December 8

    @dadezbombz welcome! I'm currently here mid-stims & awaiting ER on our first attempt. DH and I also went right to IVF/ICSI due to low sperm/motility. Such a low sperm count that they didn't show on SA's and had to surgically extract them. Hope your stay isnt too much longer!

    A big welcome to you! Hoping IVF with ICSI is just the ticket. It's a tough process, but I'm sure you're woman enough to handle it ;) Hope your stay with us is short but sweet. Welcome :)

    Diagnosis: Endometriosis

    • 2012 - 3 Rounds clomid - all BFN
    • 2013 - 1 Fresh IVF with 2 day 3 embryos - BFN
    • 2014 - 1 Frozen IVF with 2 day 5 embryos - BFN
    • Took a long break, continuing trying naturally
    • Feb 2016 - Biopsy = Endo, DH sperm improved from 1% to 6% morphology
    • March 2016 - Fresh IVF cycle with acupuncture & intralipids: 20 eggs retrieved (17 mature), 7 ICSI'd fertilized, 9 naturally fertilized. 16 total embryos!
    • April 8th - 2 embryos (1ICSI and 1 Natural) transferred. (7 blastocysts frozen), April 18th - Beta = BFN
    • Sept 23rd - Lupron Depot Injection for Endo control
    • Nov 15th 2016 - Started daily Lupron Injections for upcoming FET
    • Nov 22 - Baseline US/BW - Intralipid Infusion - Start Meds for FET with immune protocol
    • Dec 16th FET transfer of 3 embryos (1 - AA, 2 - BB)

    • Dec 22nd - first ever bfp (very faint lines FRER & cheapie)
    • Dec 27th Beta = 192, Dec 29th Beta = 379

    Hi ladies thank you all so much.  Dr a0t went well yesterday.  Took my be, and are going ti notify me today about my protocol. Dr says IM estrogen + viagra....

    That sounds fun ! lol. I thank all of you for your support

    Welcome!  We also have a motility issue.  After 2 failed IUI cycles we are moving on to IVF + ICSI.  Best of luck to you!  Hopefully we will connect throughout this journey over in the IVF threads!
