Question...

I had my follow up appointment last night after MMC, Doc said everything looks good, had a negative PT...and said to wait 2 cycles before trying again...my question is he didn't say if we can start BD as of yesterday? I really don't want to call the office to ask that and I'm pretty sure everything should be good to go since he said everything looks good, I healed well after D&C, but DH really wants me to run it past him...I feel like just telling him they said it's ok to get it on and just move forward in our lives. What do you ladies think? Should I call or do you think everything is ok to BD again? TIA

Well, I can't say for sure in your case, but I have had two D&Cs and after my follow up appointments for both of those, we were cleared to have sex again. (Four weeks total of waiting--sheesh). I hope that helps! If you don't want to call, does the nurse have an email address? I email a lot.

I was told nothing in n vagina for 2 weeks post d&c no tampons for a month. I know everybody is different and every Dr has different standards. I would think that you're ok if feel up to it!

I was told to wait 6 weeks to heal. But I was still getting a positive PT at my follow up appointment.

I heard the same thing that @jenmlangtake2 did. At my post op visit two weeks after my d&c my doctor gave us the all clear to have sex again.

My RE said BDing (and tampons) were ok when I had my 2-week post-op appointment, although my hcg is still elevated and I probably still have retained material (but cervix is closed). I would just call your doctor for the peace of mind for you and your DH (or your DH can call). We just came out and asked the RE, no shame in it...he told us that maybe it could even help move things along, which was more than I wanted to hear from someone trying to help us conceive, but it was clearly not an uncomfortable topic.

I don't have much more to add than PP. I was also told nothing in the vagina for 2 weeks/until follow up after the d&c. I actually had my follow-up sooner than that because we were going on a cruise. He checked me and everything looked good, no bleeding. I asked whether we could BD during the cruise since it was our vacay. He said it was OK as long as we had protection, he didn't want us getting pregnant until one cycle had passed.

It doesn't hurt to call and ask, every situation could be different. You can always leave the message with the nurse and they can call you back with the answer. They are used to all kinds of questions and this one is a legitimate one in our situations.

My doctor didn't explicitly say "you can have sex" but she did say "if a penis is anywhere near you, it needs to have a condom on it!" Haha.

I would assume that you are safe to have relations. If you feel more comfortable, you should definitely call.

I was told 2 weeks of "pelvic rest" and had sex as soon as it was up with no complications.

The nurse I saw at the early pregnancy clinic said to wait until I stopped bleeding. Unfortunately, even with a clear ultrasound and betas at zero, I didn't stop completely bleeding until after my first period. So, we didn't have intercourse until last night, which makes it a reallllllly lonnnnnng time.
