No morning sickness still losing weight

i have had no morning sickness at all and I am 11 and a half weeks but I have lost 8 pounds. Could it be from changing my diet or should I tell my dr?

Re: No morning sickness still losing weight

  • Well , if you changed your diet there's your answer.
Id tell your doctor but the response you get depends on how healthy your pre pregnancy weight was and what your new diet consists of.

  • Talk to your doctor about if weight loss is healthy for you and your pregnancy. It's such a case by case thing that talking to your health provider is the best and healthiest option.
  • I lost 8lbs too! Finally gained 4lbs back at 13wks
  • Talk with you doctor.  It seems like weight is extremely case-by-case and different doctors have different recommendations.  For example a friend of mine is currently pregnant but seeing a different OB than me.  We started out at similar weights, her doctor said a gain of 20-25 pounds, mine said 30-35.

  • I'm down 4 at 10 weeks, but I'm pretty sure it's because of diet (i.e. no alcohol or fast food, try to stick to non-processed healthy foods). How much have you changed your diet? It would be worth bringing it up with your doctor so they can tell you if it's ok for your situation.
  • ive lost ten pounds from morning sickness....if your dropping weight for no reason, contact dr.
  • it could be from the diet change, but it's always best to tell your doctor about things you're unsure about.
  • I lost about 7lbs in the first trimester and I had only gotten sick about 4 times. This is obviously not the reason I lost weight. I attribute it to feeling queasy at times and maybe not eating as much. I also had an aversion to sweets and wasn't snacking like I would before. My doctor never brought up my weight loss at my appointments. But if you have changed your diet, that could be the reason? Have you cut out sodas because of caffeine? Been drinking more water? Those could possibly relate too. I wouldn't be concerned.
