R/R/CS: So this is life post whole30. I write this as I'm drinking a GLORIOUS latte with milk, REAL MILK Y'ALL! NOT COCONUT MILK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Let's just all say Hallelujah to that. @winnie81; asked about it yesterday & so many of you have been offering amazing support these last 30 days I figured I'd post a bit about how I feel about the whole thing. So let me start by saying I agree that the whole30 can change your life in 30 days IF your diet consists of a lot of prepared items, boxed items, processed foods, JUNK, etc. DH & I DO NOT & have not eaten that way in a long time. We buy organic when possible, eat relatively clean & buy 80% produce during our weekly grocery trips. I cannot remember the last time I bought something in a box. For these reasons, I don't think the whole30 was "life changing" for me or DH. Was it good to take a break from drinking (alcohol) for 30 days? Yes, probably so. But am I never going to enjoy a glass of wine, dairy or grains again, that's a big negative. Everything in moderation. It did teach me how to work outside the box for recipes, including using Almond Flour instead of bread crumbs or panko, helped me discover Cacao Nibs (NOMZ!) and reminded me of my love for all things coconut. I missed Asian food (not the MSG) but making it @ home and using Soy Sauce. I was not going to buy Coconut Aminos just for 30 days when I knew I'd go back to Soy on Day 31. It also taught me I can survive without sugar. I have always leaned towards salt, so while chocolate & candy wasn't a big deal for me the last 30 days, it was hard to get used to no sugar in my coffee or watching for sugar in random things you would not expect to find sugar in. I learned how to make my own mayo! HOW COOL IS THAT?! I'm never going back to store bought mayo. EVER. If you'd like the recipe (so easy!) let me know and I'll post it! I discovered La Croix (I know... I'm late to the La Croix party lol) I only had 1 headache (impressive for me) and that was a fluke due to only getting 4 hours of sleep one night. I NEVER once felt bloated. The 1st half of my whole30 was spent @ home while I was still waiting to start my new job. This made it VERY EASY to stay compliant & be in control. Whole30 in the real world IS HARD. My coworkers are constantly eating & I could never participate (until today!!) and social engagements are REALLY HARD. We only had 2 during the last 30 days and I couldn't eat or drink ANYTHING either time, it really makes you not want to be there. Partnered with the fact I'm a natural introvert so yea ... fun times indeed. I suppose I could have made my own appetizer, but I didn't. If I ate this way full time I would have. Whole30 is made for people who LOVE to menu plan (me!!!) and have time & enjoy meal prep. YOU HAVE to set aside an hour or two on the weekend to get yourself ready for each week. I'd make a dozen hard boiled eggs, a tray of roasted root vegetables, a tray of mini (compliant) turkey meatballs, and ensure we had plenty of fruit & veggies to snack on. I would also plan all 3 meals for both DH & I and snacks. Without this, IDK if we would have been successful, because the lazy factor would have set in. In the end, would I do the whole30 again? I'm not sure, I don't think so, not a full 30 days at least. I think it works best in January when everyone around you is working on "being healthy" as well. Perhaps I'd try a whole7, or something along those lines to reset after a holiday or trip. If you'd like to ask me anything more or specifics please let me know- happy to provide additional information & recipes!
GTKY: I would say most of my life in one form or another it would be having an artistic nature. Whether that was in the classroom growing up, dance team in high school, appreciating it now in not only museums but the beauty in the world around us (which can be hard to see these days eh?!)----- or now in my most favorite form, the art of cooking
ME: 31 | DH: 31
Married: April 2015
TTC (BBT & FF) #1: April 2015 (Off BC: January 2015)
R/R/CS I tested yesterday and got a faint FRER line, but waited for the digi confirmation this morning to confirm!!!! I'm scared to death after going through the MC in November/December, but I've decided this baby deserves my love and excitement no matter if she stays 2 days or 9 months.
I just want to thank you all for your support and charting knowledge! I ovulated super late this cycle and this board got me through my anxiety!
Take care everyone and hope to see you in November/ First Tri boards soon!!!
Morning! It's a beautiful Wednesday here, hope it's just as nice where you are! And it stops raining buckets for all you ladies living in those areas!
*Question in R/R/CS**
Month/Cycle: 6/3
CD/DPO: 76/45 (ha)
Timing: -1, O
Testing Plans: Zilch
R/R/CS: Okay so, tomorrow is my OB appointment. YAY. I took the day off because I also have a dentist appointment and I'm going to get new glasses. Three birds, one stone! Question. I've seen a lot of back and forth about Wondfo's. I'm hoping the OB will give me something to kick start my cycle, and in turn, I will eventually be needing OPK's again. I was using the cheapest drug store brands I could find. Which seemed to work well for me, as I did turn one positive on CD 30. Though now I'm seconding guessing if it was really a positive or not, due to what cycle day I'm on. Anyway, I'm curious to know if Wondfo's expire? From my impression you can get a ton of them for cheap on Amazon. The ones from the drug store always had an expiration date. I didn't think much of it, until I took two tests two days in a row last week (missed POAS I guess lol) and they didn't even turn the control line. So the expiration date definitely meant something. If the Wondfo's do expire, I don't really see a point in buying a crazy big amount if their just going to expire before I can get to them.
GTKY: What is your greatest talent? Talent? Just getting out of bed at 4:50 every weekday and putting my bra on correctly is a talent at this point. Other than that, I can roll my tongue like a wave, front to back? Wow, sad life huh?
Testing Plans: Sometime between tomorrow (10 DPO) and Saturday (12 DPO)
R/R/CS: So my temp went wayyyyy up yesterday (a whole .5 degrees from where it was previously) normally I'd have chocked it up to temping way early, but it was even higher this morning. Not sure what it means, but it's making the BSCs set in real good and my SS has reached an all time high, which is why I'm not entirely sure my patience will wait til Saturday to test. Also I ate 4 slices of toast for breakfast the last three days and was still ravenously hungry after so clearly I'm totes KTFU, right guys? Right GUYS? Remember that time I said I was cool as a cucumber? It clearly didn't last. *breathes deeply*
GTKY: What is your greatest talent? I think just being crafty. I'm a decent knitter
@thefarmerswife0411 I admire you for doing the whole30, honestly I wish I had that kind of self control, but I definitely don't!
Testing Plans: Trying to hold out for 12dpo but will probably cave at 9 or 10
R/R/CS: I just really want to fast forward time. Can it be next week already please? I'm having a horrible time concentrating at work when all I can think of is I want to POAS!
GTKY: What is your greatest talent? Hmm video games. Yes I will consider video games a talent.
R/R/CS: I've been allowing myself to half-believe that my nausea and fatigue and heartburn I've been experiencing over the last few days were early symptoms, even though I know intellectually that if I were pregnant enough for symptoms, I'd be pregnant enough to turn a test. I'm still halfheartedly blaming the Wondfos for being cheap, and wishing I hand't let those FRERs burn a hole in my pocket last cycle. But nope, I am not KU, I just caught a regulation stomach bug, complete with associated aches and pains and fever and vomiting. So that's fun. I'm home today, which I do NOT have time for. Tomorrow, the kids have a half day and we have parent-teacher conferences in the afternoon, so I kind of have to go to school. But today, I will lay in bed and be pathetic. I cried when my husband left this morning. Because pathetic. And this afternoon, my mom is going to come over so I don't have to roll around moaning by myself.
Also AF is due just about any second, so that's A+ much happy so wow.
GTKY: What is your greatest talent? Currently, rolling around in my bed and moaning. Usually, I am bomb at organizing humans to do things the way I want them (students, the musicians I used to represent, wedding guests, etc.). And also sarcasm (unrelated).
@Chloe97 - congrats! H&H9 to you! (ETA- congrast @ChelleCPA as well! H&H9!)
Month/Cycle: 6/5
CD/DPO: 25/3
Timing: -2, -1, O
Testing Plans: well, see, I've got a bunch of Wondfos... So I'm going to pretend I'll have enough self control to wait until 12DPO to start testing, but...
R/R/CS: Woohoo CH! Illness and sleeping poorly made some of the temps individually unreliable, but forest not trees has given me CH I'm comfortable agreeing with.
Also, this is the first cycle that the timing analyzer has given us a score of "high" for timing! Which is awesome, but also means I'm allowing my hopes to get way too high. I keep trying to stop myself, and I can't. Sigh. I hate that I'm setting myself up for soul crushing disappointment.
GTKY: Problem solving.
Me: 30 DH: 32 ~~ TTC #1: Sep 2015 ~~ BFP: Mar 2016 ~~ Daughter: Nov 2016 TTC #2: April 2018 ~~ BFP: May 2018 ~~ EDD: January 2019
Testing Plans: realistically probably 8 dpo and every day after
R/R/CS: I slept weird on my back last night and now its very stiff in my left side
GTKY: What is your greatest talent?
Hmm... not really sure. I don't really have a talent in the sense I usually think of talents (singing, dancing, etc). I'm good at puzzling through logic problems though. I'm a decent cook now but nothing amazing, though I've mastered the 30 minute weeknight meal, haha.
@thefarmerswife0411 interesting about Whole30.. I'm definitely interested in the homemade mayo recipe! Great job sticking to it and you enjoy that latte!
@mrsdaddario No experience with the wondfos! But, I love the "stacking" appointments thing too!
@MrsDramaK fingers crossed for continued high temps!
@JediAlly85 I always get that crazy feeling at around 5 dpo too.. Good luck holding out!
@lcsrva sorry for the BFN and the stomach bug. Feel better soon!
***lurking from WTO*** Congrats @chloe97! H&H9 to you!
Also, hugs to you @lscrva. It's not pathetic, at all. You invest so much into TTC it's hard not to be disappointed. Sending lots of positive vibes your way. So sorry you're sick and that you're having a rough day.
R/R/CS: My temp was exactly the same as it was yesterday. OF COURSE, someone in a TTC group on FB had the same issue today and posted some screenshots of consistent post-O temps on pregnancy charts. This totally means I'm KTFU, RIGHT?!?!
GTKY: Multi-tasking...I'm like a, self-proclaimed, wizard.
lcsrva I'm sorry you are sick. I am in the same loopy emotional place - it sucks! Hope it passes soon.
Month/Cycle: 1/1
CD/DPO: CD31 / DPO Unknown due to not temping
Timing: ?
Testing Plans: Tested Sat, BFN, Tested Yesterday BFN. Ordered some wandfos on Amazon this morning.
R/R/CS: BSC in full force. Yesterday the interviews were fine but I allowed myself to feel defeated and self-destructive. I went running after work (yay sun) thinking it would expel all the toxic energy but it just left me exhausted. Then I thought if I could turn a test it would put me in a better mood but got a BFN and then was like well it was all water anyway. Shower, DH finds me sprawled in bed in my robe playing candy crush and crying. Today I just feel completely dead. Much less cramping today, temperatures are telling me nothing because I started mid-cycle. I have been on BC for over ten years and think I just need to get used to hormones again because I am being a BIG baby.
GTKY: What is your greatest talent? When I was a kid I was creative and played music, created art, etc. But now as an adult I would say connecting with people. I know that's a lame talent but it helps me a lot.
edit: got my CD# wrong.
Me: 38, DH: 36 Married Jan 2008 DD Baby Bells born Dec 2016 5 lbs, 12 oz, 18" so in love Due with #2 Baby Arya EDD February 2020
R/R/CS: So my cat, who is usually always running away from me (except at feeding time), has been out and hanging out with me all week. This morning, of course, I thought "oh, maybe she knows I'm pregnant!" because obviously cats can tell that starting at 1 DPO.
GTKY: What is your greatest talent? Either my analytical skills or my inability to procrastinate Edited because I missed a comma.
Testing Plans: a couple of days ago I had a squinter and last night a faint line showed on a frer. I confirmed with a digi: 1-2 weeks! I can't believe it's really happening!
R/R/CS: I want to thank everyone for being so wonderful and supportive. I was so clueless 5 months ago about how any of this worked, and y'all have been so helpful. I hope everyone gets their bfp's soon. I'll be lurking to see them!
GTKY: What is your greatest talent? I can kill some accounting!
@chloe97 congratulations! H and h 9 months to you!
Me: 29 & DH: 33 Married: May 2009 ttc #1 since October 2015 BFP: 3/8 - CP
Testing Plans: no more. BFN at 10dpiui and 12dpiui
R/R/CS: Just waiting for AF at this point. DH and I had a really good talk and cry (me, not him) last night and I feel better. We really are so blessed and I am trying to focus on the things we do have and not the things we don't. Some days are just harder than others.. obviously you guys get that.
GTKY: What is your greatest talent? I played the piano pretty seriously growing up.. got a scholarship to play in college. Then got to college and pretty much stopped playing. It was one thing when I was doing it for fun.. it was different when I "had" to do it to keep my scholarship. Now I still play every now and then since I kept the piano and it is taking up space in my living room

**Lurking from WTO (again, perhaps a repeat of Monday?!)** @ChelleCPA Congrats!! So happy for you! H&H 9 to you and as a CPA myself, good job with the timing to miss next busy season.
@zoey1019@MrsDramaK@MrsBinPA@SandwichLover@BerkeBaby@leksiL you guys are just the best. Thank you for all your sweet words. I didn't mean to be so whiny earlier... I'm actually okay with the BFN, it's just the illness that's making me a total baby. I mostly got upset because I wanted my husband to stay at home and rub my back, but he had to go to work. And then he looked so sad and told me I looked awful and I just loved his little pouty face so much that it made me cry more.
On another note, so happy for you, @chloe97 and @ChelleCPA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@chloe97 and @ChelleCPACongratulations & best wishes for a H&H 9 @thefarmerswife0411 I'm intrigued by the whole30 but think I should start with the whole2 or 3! @lcsrva I'm so sorry for the BFN and the stomach bug, be kind to yourself today! *Edited to fix spacing issues* Month/Cycle: 4/4 CD/DPO: 17/5 Timing: -4, -3, -2, O Testing Plans: 11 DPO R/R/CS: I know we need the rain and when I can be lazy at home on the couch, I love it BUT when I have to go to work? BOO GTKY: What is your greatest talent? Hmmmm. Probably intuition/reading people or tenacity.
@thefarmerswife0411 I've never heared of whole30 before people on here mentioning it. That was a very informative and truthful description of it which I appreciate. Perhaps something DH and I should try in the future and we are guilty of eating packaged food A LOT. Still slowly getting on the meal planning train though so wouldn't be as successful yet. I want the Mayo recipe! We go through way more than Id like to admit!
@chloe97 Woohoo! Congrats!! H & H 9 months, FX for a sticky baby.
@Mrsdaddarrio Was hoping you'd be posting today so I could wish you good luck tomorrow!!! I want all the details!
@MrsDramaK Fx for when you test that your SS pays off.
@lcsrva Sorry for the BFN and bad day! Feel better soon.
Timing: Bad
Testing: Possibly this weekend or next Wednesday before my appointment if I can hold out.
R/R/CS: I'm feeling weirdly more relaxed the more BFNs I get. Possibly because as the weeks go on and the chances of being KU go down Im realizing Im not some Speshul Snowflake who's pregnant with negative tests and no symptoms and am actually jut NOT pregnant. On the other hand my normally super positive DH is being a big downer. As we were walking around the baby section at Walmart last night, he says very quietly, "We are never going to have a baby are we? I mean, you can't even get your period. We are going to end up like (insert relatives with IF diagnosis and no children after 10 years of trying)." I couldn't even get mad because he sounded so sad saying it so all I could get out was "Ya probably not". Seriously, where is my supportive hubby and seriously uterus-get it together!
GTKY: I really am talentless. I get by with being average to above average in a number of things lol.
Testing Plans: Started today...BFN..of course. But it was fun to tell myself, this is just for comparison for when you REALLY test on Friday!? Right?!
R/R/CS: I just want Friday here!!! Pleasseeeee...the number of BFPs on this board this week are amazing, but I also feel like it means I should get one too! Not much else going on for me...these are the worst last 3-4 days of waiting....
GTKY: What is your greatest talent? Hmm...probably my ability to talk people into a circle. At the end of an argument/conversation with DH he will all of a sudden be agreeing with me and he says he has no idea why, just that he can't keep up with my train of thought and it all sounds right! haha

And also sarcasm (unrelated).*edit because @lcsrva *hugs for you *

@Chloe97 Congrats!!
Congrats @chloe97!

@chloe97 Congrats!
lcsrva I'm sorry you are sick. I am in the same loopy emotional place - it sucks! Hope it passes soon.
Month/Cycle: 1/1

I know that's a lame talent but it helps me a lot.edit: got my CD# wrong.

Now I still play every now and then since I kept the piano and it is taking up space in my living roomMe 35, DH 37

@chloe97 Woohoo! Congrats!! H & H 9 months, FX for a sticky baby.
@Mrsdaddarrio Was hoping you'd be posting today so I could wish you good luck tomorrow!!! I want all the details!
@MrsDramaK Fx for when you test that your SS pays off.
@lcsrva Sorry for the BFN and bad day! Feel better soon.
@SandwichLover Welcome!
Month/Cycle: 4/1
CD/DPO: 73/?
Timing: Bad Testing: Possibly this weekend or next Wednesday before my appointment if I can hold out.

GTKY: What is your greatest talent? Hmm...probably my ability to talk people into a circle.
