I'm so sorry for your loss.

******TW - grieving a loss during a major life event*******
I lost my grandmother a few months before my wedding and was devastated.  I had never pictured that day without her involved.  We took time after the ceremony to visit her and my grandfather's grave and introduce ourselves as a married couple. That sort of ritual isn't for everybody, but there's no way I could have made it through the day without doing so.

  • @mollyandD I'm so sorry to read about your grandmother. Hugs to you and your family. I understand the pain of not being able to introduce your children to them. Know that all those skills your grandmother taught you though will be passed on when you have your kids. They will know how wonderful she was in that way.

@Mlight28  the doctor considers any day of spotting as day 1? I've never heard that before. Even before I started ttc my doctor told me first day of blood (fresh not old) is first day of period/cycle. I mean some cycles I spot at like 6-8 dpo.  Ask if you can also do one a few days after?

  • @MollyandD – So sorry for your losses.  It’s certainly never easy to go through something like that and that’s why the support of TB is so amazing to have!  On the flip side, that is very exciting that SO and you are almost ready to start trying!  If you have a BBT thermometer already, I’d recommend that you start temping now.  That way in a couple months when you’re ready to start trying, you already have a good idea of what your body does and what day you normally ovulate!  I would be really beneficial for you to start now. It certainly couldn’t hurt.  GL and again, I’m very sorry for your losses.

WAYDTGKU: BDED...except DH is sick now.  Ugh!  Hopefully he can get over it soon.

R/R/CS: I stayed home from work yesterday.  Still have a cough, but had to go in today because of some deadlines.  I work in local government and quit my job in another department and transferred to my current department because my old job sucked.  I have gone back twice already to help (I've only been gone 3 months) and now have to go back a third time to completely run payroll because the person doing it is (unexpectedly) out for two weeks.  DH also works for a different department so his paycheck comes from here too.  I want us to get paid, so I feel like I'm obligated to help out.  I quit because the management over there was horrible and it obviously hasn't gotten any better since they haven't replaced me 3 months later and still haven't trained anyone else to be the backup to payroll.  The job ended up making my depression and anxiety exponentially worse in the short two years I worked there.  Thankfully, my current boss is super understanding and basically awesome.  He told them that he needs me to be in the office so I would have to set up to do all the payroll work remotely.  It worked!  I still have to do that horrible job, just won't have to be around the horrible people.  *sigh* ok...rant over.  I'm hoping to take a break this afternoon and reply to people, but for now I have to post and run.  :(

GTKY: What is your go-to date with your SO?  Watching tv while we cuddle in bed.  Sounds lame, but it's something we used to do every night when we were dating/engaged.  After we went through our rough patch last year, we decided to start doing it again.  It helped us reconnect.

@houseofsetters, my DH completed his SA yesterday.  I'm pretty sure he felt really awkward about the entire thing.  We live within half an hour of the clinic though, so he was able to do it at home, and then I dropped off the sample for him at the clinic.  I was at the clinic for all of about five minutes from the time I checked in.

R/R/CS: Since I was an idiot and didn't know bjs were bad for baby-making, I told DH no more in fertile window.
I'm proactive, I pick up preseed to help out. That stuff was not very helpful. *tmi warning* it was super sticky and we couldn't change positions without having to apply more. Maybe I'm using it wrong, I don't know, but I don't know if we'll be using it again.

GTKY: What is your go-to date with your date night?
We usually go to the movies. We have a theater by us that is $5 dollar tickets with a free popcorn. Dinner of popcorn, and dessert is candy (we bring our own, I know, cheapskates). We try to go to the movies that have been out a while so no one is there and we can lounge and talk.

  • @MrsDho11 Thank you for the hugs, I'm definitely frustrated about the test timing.
I actually just called them to make sure I needed to come tomorrow even though I'm fairly sure I haven't ovulated yet. She put me on hold, asked the doc and came back and said that yes, he wants to see CD21 labs no matter what because if you haven't ovulated by then, we want to know that.
Ugh... CD21 is not listed as a "have to ovulate before" date anywhere. Bodies are different, doc!
To be fair, this is still with my OB... The nearest RE is about 2 hours away, and I'll be looking at those options after these initial tests.
I do think it might be part of my problem though, and I'm probably just defensive about it. I have a 28-30 day cycle usually and O around CD18-20. We will see.

I feel like they aren't getting a chance to see that my ovaries are actually working... My cycles are regular and ovulation happens every month (confirmed with temping). I thought I was going to swear off OPKs this cycle after they confused me so much last cycle, but I bought a pack a couple of days ago. Getting darker, but still negative. GTKY: What is your go-to date with your SO? Hm! I don't really know. We enjoy making dinner and watching a movie or Netflix together at home. We also enjoy going out to dinner and a movie. When it comes to "dates" we may actually really use double dates as our go-to out and about thing. We don't go on just us dates that often.
