I personally hate most pinks. All of the pink stuff the girls have came from unsolicited gifts!! We buy a lot of purple and teal stuff (along with non gender specific clothes).
Everywhere it's an addiction ...... Today I was at target and I they had cute "first Easter " onesies the boys had a pretty blue color onsie and the girls onsie was hot pink . Then I went to get her a new blanket . The boy blanket was a nice mint green the girls...hot pink. Needless to say I bought the blue onsie and the green blanket .
I feel ya. My mom sends clothes all the time, saying "I know you don't want pink and frilly, but..." and then DD ends up just wearing it around the house because hey, free clothes.
But I agree with Carter's. And omg Target has some seriously cute summer clothes.
I was sick of pink before I started school. I go to a consignment place to get stuff for Olive. When we buy new, I like Carters. I also buy boy onesies a lot because when a boy onesie says "future space explorer" and a girl onesie says "lil diva!" I buy the boy stuff out of spite. There is no rule girls have to shop in the girls' section.
My inlaws don't get that girls can wear anything other than pink AND buy her five hundred times more than she needs for clothing which is frustrating.
Carter's and some places in the mall is where I shop for DD's clothes. I found 3 dresses with cute designs on them in colors: yellow, coral, and purple all by Carter's.
I actually do love the color pink but I don't think pink looks good on DD! When she cries she gets so red in the face that the pink just makes her look even more red. My favorite color is that minty green and anytime I see that color available for DD to wear I buy it.
I like pink, I just really don't like bright pink on DD. It's okay but not her best color. There are so many other colors I'd rather see on her and those don't seem to be in short supply. Between Carter's, Old Navy, and Target we've done pretty well.
I do get sick of too much of any one color though. I haven't had as much issue with DD but I'm bad about buying too much blue for DS. He just looks so frigging good in it that it's hard to resist.
We were team green so we were gifted a lot of grey and white clothing before she was born. I kind of went on a pink buying spree there for a while, but now I find myself looking at gender neural clothing again. I like the idea that I may be able to use the neutral items again some day. I like Carters too and old navy.
When I finish doing DD's laundry in an hour or so I will take a picture of her closet. Sure we have a lot of pink but we have lots of different colors too. And only about 5 outfits came from the boys' section. Carters, target, gap, babies r us all have some good non pink or pink+other colors clothing options. And there are plenty of boy clothing that doesn't say things like handsome or mamas little boy etc.
I don't mind all the pink, but we have a good variety of other colors for DD. We only have one gender neutral outfit and it was a gift before we found out DD's gender. We shop at Carters, Target and Old Navy.. Lots of purple, yellow, cream, coral and mint green. Carters is my favorite, I could buy it out lol
I LOVE pink, but try to have her wear a variety of colors. As others have said, carter usually has a good variety of colors. Most of her clothes come from there, and she has lots of clothes that aren't pink. I also love putting bows on DD. I think that I love her wearing pink and bows so much since my son wears a lot of camo. I was ready for a girl!
I agree with PP's about Carter's. We have lots of non pink from there. We also shop in the boys section. My husband loves to find cute matching outfits.
Like most of the PPs say, Carter's has some pretty good stuff that's not pink (or at least not HOT pink). I also like Amazon, and if you can afford it, some of the smaller online retailers like Cafe Press (although I am hard-pressed to spend $20 on a onesie...) My LO wears so much blue people just assume she's a boy I am pretty "girly" but am trying hard to not let my preferences dictate all of her clothes. DH has very good taste and we've managed to find some cute clothes with things like puppies and "girl" robots to counter the hot pink phenomenon. I just wish her pirate puppy pj's didn't say "Little Dude". I mean REALLY?

OMG!! The matching plaid...I can't!! Too adorable!!

I think dd looks stunning in purple or blue (bc her eyes are blue)- also she has a fair amount of prints. @kkarik looooove those outfits & how freaking adorable your guy dresses to match- I've never seen that!
If anyone doesn't get the Carter's emails, I just got a 5 pack of short sleeved onesies for $12. They're different colors with white polka dots. One is pink, but the rest are different colors, like orange, yellow, and blue.
I have a little boy and am jealous that it is socially acceptable for you to put them in boys clothes. It doesnt go the other way, and my LO has had multiples of the same outfit in the same size because he needed more clothes but the selection is so small. You can make a boy onesie cute with a frilly skirt but there is no way to make a girl onesie masculine.
I put her in whatever looks cute. We were gifted a lot of pink items,
carters/Oshkosh is a great source. Old Navy is not too bad, too, for on trend non pink baby clothes.
Also, just random thought to the "genderizing" - pink can be worn by anyone. The problem I find is less the color of clothing and rather all the words and phrases.
@LaceyH13 The boy stuff gets better as they get into toddler sizes. Honestly I've put DS in Girl stuff. Sometimes I had an easier time finding pants that fit him that way. He had some with foxes or that were teal.
Not all boy clothes work for girls either. I'm not going to put a "little guy" onesie on DD for example. The boy things that work best are pretty neutral to start with.
