What a lazy butt!

My DD has torticollis so it's really important that we squeeze in as much tummy time as possible. Her neck muscles do seem very weak and I had slacked off with tummy time in the beginning because we had to stay at my MIL's house where her dogs just peed all over the floor and then our room had tile in it  so there really wasn't anywhere to do it.

Now, I'm trying to play catch up and every time I put DD on her tummy she just lays there. She doesn't want to attempt to push herself up. She's just content laying on her tummy on any hard surface. She'll cry if it's soft, like a bed. Any suggestions on how to get this lazy baby to start doing some tummy time???? She is 10 weeks tomorrow and cannot roll over yet. I am just feeling a little concerned about DD.

My DD is 13 weeks and can't roll over yet,  either, but has greatly improved her tummy time. I wear her a ton, and I was persistent in doing tummy time on the Boppy. At first she hated it,  but one day she picked up her head. It was probably two weeks ago. After that,  she gained strength really quickly and now is a tummy time champ on the floor without the Boppy. Her head control is a billion times better. She even smiled yesterday during tummy time! I think she'll roll any day now -- she's got the motions down, just needs to push harder.  So, try not to worry. It can be hard when you look at other people who have rolling babies,  but yours will get there! I think it takes some babies four months.
  • Loading the player...
  • Definitely having DS elevated helped, we have this mini boppy thing with a mirror on one side so he can see himself when he's using it. It helped his tummy time enjoyment immensely. He's 11 wks and almost rolling over, but not quite there yet.
  • Elevate on a pillow and put lots of toys/mirror infront of her. My DD hates TT. Sometimes I'll lay her on me and we'll do airplane.
  • Airplane and elevating her are our go to maneuvers! But it's important to do the flat on the floor too so they can get their little arms involved too :) don't worry about the rolling...that's not expected until 4-5 months and you'll see belly to back before you see back to belly (usually) don't forget lots of praise and kisses when they do something well
