Craziest things you've done this far

Im bored at work, so, what's the craziest thing you've done sleep deprived this far in the journey of new baby?

Mine happened last night, I woke myself up talking about Ainsley until I realized I was rubbing my SO's arm kissing it thinking it was her.... I was so embarrassed, thankfully he sleeps heavy! Although there has been times I thought I fell asleep w her in bed with me and woke up panicking thinking I was smothering her.

The craziest thing I've done had nothing to do with sleep deprication. DS used to have the worst diarrhea and not always with a diaper on. A couple times he pooped while I was changing him and it would just shoot out in a solid stream. There was this instinct to catch it. A couple times with a diaper, once my bare hand. Not pretty at all....
No there really is an instinct to catch. I've done this before. I also put my hand over Olive's bum while I'm getting her new diaper out. Sure, crap on my hand, just don't ruin that Aden and Anais change pad cover. That thing is actually worth something.
I was thinking "I am not cleaning another wall". First time it happened while hubby was changing him and it hit the wall four feet away. We were still finding and cleaning poop for weeks.

ETA DS has some of the Aden and Anais burp bibs I started washing with the cloth diapers. Doesn't matter how ketchup stained he gets them they come out looking brand stinking new. I just do a cold speed wash followed by a long hot wash.
  • I couldn't find the shredded cheese anywhere for my tacos the other day. I just decided that it must be gone. Found it a few days later in the kichen cabinet...

  • I almost used desitin as toothpaste.

I happened to glance down just in time.

I still have no idea why the desitin was in the bathroom to begin with.
  • Story for my SO, we got baby out of the tub - our routine is while he's lotioning her down and getting her dressed I'm making her bottle... So.. They were on the couch he was feeding her and I heard him say "oh great!" And just kinda looked down to his lap... Gray sweats and moisture shows big time... He forgot to put her diaper on her... Smh.

Kissed somebody i shouldn't have. It's a long story. It happened fast. I'm super-ashamed. And I feel like i can only partially blame hormones.

It was one of those situations where a friend zoomed in to give me a friendly kiss on the cheek and i misunderstood and frenched him good. He was kind of surprised and said "Actually, yeah we can do that too."

    I wanted to vanish.

I realize you are looking for stories of SLEEP DEPRIVATION but to be quite honest, I think not sleeping well has made me completely insane and prone to doing even stupider things than i did when i was pregnant.
Omg I done this with my co-worker the other day!!
I don't know hormones are everywhere

Also convinced that it was Halloween soon and that's why LO was being fussy with left boob.
It was the middle of the night and I've done night time feeds with LO every day since he was born because SO "doesn't hear him"

I put Preparation H on my toorhbrush. Caught it before it went in my mouth.

I put vaginal itch cream on my toothbrush once (pre-pregnancy after a yeast infection) and did not catch it until after it was in my mouth. Worth taste ever!

I've pumped in a public bathroom. You hear lots of interesting thing if you stay in a stall for 20 min.

I frequently fall asleep feeding LO at night sitting in a chair (dreaming and everything).

I also almost used toothpaste as shampoo once.
  • Not exactly crazy, but I was unloading the dishwasher after washing our Tupperware set. We keep all storage containers above the fridge, they have never been kept anywhere else. I leave the kitchen to give Henry his pacifier, come back and see a bunch of lids on the counter. I looked all over in total confusion wondering where the hell the containers went, gave up and proceeded to put away the rest of the dishes.
I then open the fridge to grab the water pitcher and what do you know? Every Tupperware container I "lost" was in there.  I don't even remember taking them out of the dishwasher.

  • I have from Day 6 woken with a start and immediatley check the ground on the floor next to me  believing that I had fallen asleep breastfeeding and Odie dropped out of my arms. hahahaha

Also, my husband will walk into the bedroom to bed, and I will sit up and ask him baby related questions while still very obviously asleep. Me and sleep deprivation do not get along well.

  • @Mhg54 I actually did that last week. I turned it on and wondered why my leg felt wet haha. Dumbest thing I've done yet.
  • My baby has never once been in my bed and I still wake up every night in a cold sweat thinking I am smothering him.
  • I almost put formula in my coffee... The container was sitting right next to the sugar and I  just about put a nice scoop of enfamil right in my fresh cup of raspberry flavored coffee... Sleep deprived at its finest!

I do this often.  Or if I have to get up to feed her,  I forget that I put her back in her crib.

DH doesn't understand the concept of onesies. Every single time he changes her he snaps the onesie on the outside of her pants, it's hilarious. It's not due to sleep deprivation because he definitely sleeps. *insert angry emoji*

I'm guilty of putting on a few backwards diapers in the middle of the night lol.

Maybe he's just trying to make her look like a superhero?
