I am all maternity clothes at work now. I was doing the hair tie through the button hole for a while but that even gets uncomfortable. I cannot wait until I can wear dresses and skirts. Right now it is way too cold where I live.
@mouse1029 i have definitely done this. I ended up sitting at my desk with my pants unbuttoned. I tried the hairband thing and ended up with it digging in. I just made the switch to maternity pants. The butt is a little saggy by the end of the day, but better than being uncomfortable.
I made that mistake last week too - even with the hair tie trick I was miserable! So I went home, ordered a few pairs of maternity pants online... And now I'm walking around hiking them up because I'm not quite big enough yet!
I've been wearing leggings a lot too, but floaty dresses have been a good compromise for the in-between phase. Old Navy actually has some cute, inexpensive non-maternity ones that should be wearable for at least a few months (and again after baby arrives) if that's an option!
This is exactly where I'm at. I can still button all my pants, it just gets uncomfortable. I use a hair tie or a rubber band and it makes it sooo much better. I'm being stubborn about getting maternity clothes and I have no idea why. Leggings and dresses should get me through a few more weeks I think.
I've been wearing maternity pants since around 9 weeks. I have a couple of black maternity pants and switch between them at work - and no one seems to notice or care! I got my first pair off of Kohl's website and love them a lot! Before I was used to sitting at my work and having my pants with the button open and wearing a shirt to cover it up..
I made the switch to maternity pants last week... likes others they are baggy in the butt but wayyy better than the discomfort I was feeling by the end of every day! Now to find more maternity pants that aren't $50 each...
I'm between clothes right now and I hate it! I've pulled out my maternity clothes though and I'm just going to start wearing them since I have them from my first pregnancy.
I've been wearing maternity pants for at least 3-4 weeks now, and I'm starting to wear maternity tops more now. The pants were just way too uncomfortable before I switched.
Right now it totally depends on the cut of the pants for me. Hip huggers? I don't even need to adjust them. Natural waist dress pants? (which... is my usual work go-to) hahahaha.
Shirts are more of a problem than pants for my right now - normal shirts are either too short, or too tight (or both) and maternity shirts give me an extra little "poof" in the belly since they are still too big.
We don't have any maternity stores, or stores that carry maternity near us, so I've been buying everything off line. Swap.com, and thredup.com.
(No... we don't have a target. Last state in the country, but nope, no target. There is even a little disclaimer at the bottom of the store locator "We currently do not have any stores in VT." It used to be us and Hawaii, but Hawaii got one last year.)
A lot of the clothes I got are still too big. I found some great maternity jeans that fit well but I can't wear those to work. Definitely looking forward to dress weather!

I hear ya @mouse1029 ! I had to wear a pair of dress pants yesterday that were fine two weeks before, but when I went to put them on I was like 2 inches from closing them and they weren't some that I could do the hair tie trick with! I started wearing maternity pants last week. I ordered a pair of dark skinny jeans and dark boot cut jeans from motherhood maternity on clearance and they fit great! I ordered the full panel and I'm not quite comfortable with that yet, so I tend to roll it down like I would with my yoga pants (which I wear most days)! I tried some from Kohls, but they were way to short on me and way to bunchy in the back and front. I might order another pair from M.M. now that I know how they fit!
I've been lucky to get away with yoga pants since 12 weeks. I loaned my maternity clothes to a friend and just got then back. Yesterday I wore jeans for the first time in almost a month (and they were maternity jeans). Today I even stole DHs sweatshirt to be comfortable.
I'm almost at 17 weeks and have been doing the hair tie trick for the past week. I figure another week or so and I'm going to need to venture into maternity wear!
I'm wearing maternity dresses, wrap dresses I already had, or stretchy skirts and tops. If it's cold I throw on fleece leggings and boots with a cardigan. My office is always warm though so I'm lucky that way and live in a fairly mild climate compared to many places.
So, I'm obsessed with maternity pants. I was popping out of my pants before I even got pregnant, so there wasn't too much wiggle room for an expanding belly. I think they are so comfortable! Just like leggings but look like jeans. My favorite pair so far is by Jessica Simpson. I'd recommend checking them out!

I've been in maternity clothes for a couple weeks now. So much more comfortable and they make me look more pregnant than my regular clothes, which just make me look fat now.
Tip: a belly band is great for keeping maternity pants up that are still a little too big.
I am in between my regular pants and maternity. As soon as I sit down, it is way uncomfortable though. Today I undid my jeans (just the button) when I was driving to the store. Well that must have enabled my zipper to come all the way open...so I hop out and am in the parking lot walking into the store when I get a crazy look from the guy approaching me, he even does a double take with a shocked look on his face. I then realized my shirt had ridden up, pants were fully undone, and he could see my underwear...entirely. I will be making the switch to maternity tomorrow.
For a few weeks I have been using "bella band" and just been leaving all my pants unbuttoned and unzipped completely. The band covers everything and is amazing! However, I think i'll have to make the switch to maternity clothes soon too. But really, check out getting a bella band if you aren't wanting to fork money over yet (I sure don't!)
This happened to me a few weeks ago. By the end of the day I was sooo uncomfortable, that's when I made the switch. I personally like full-panel maternity pants, I think most people don't, and most of mine are from my last pregnancy, so they're stretched out, but it's so much more comfortable. Yeah, they're a little big, but meh it's fine. I don't really like the hair tie trick, or any of those bellyband-type contraptions I tried last time, I still feel like I'm walking around with my pants unbuttoned, and if your shirt comes up by accident and reveals that, not cute and not cool. That said, some ladies recommended getting dresses, which, um, yes! However, I would recommend getting nursing dresses so you can wear them now and then again after baby is born. I didn't realize that I would need nursing clothes until I was a few weeks into nursing, and the pull-down/pull-up methods with my regular clothes just weren't cutting it.
I also did the band love it!!! The problem is have is yoga pants I have sooooo much from vs that the band on them are too tight -_- I'm 15 week now trying to stretch out the uses but it's getting pretty close to go shopping.....
