Co-sleeping?

Baby has been sleeping in the same bed with hubby and I since she was two months (don't judge me). She was very congested at the time and wasn't able to fall asleep on her own so I brought her to the bed and would hold her as we slept. She is now 5 months and still sleeping with mommy. The bright side of this is that as soon as we turn the lights off she knows it's bedtime and usually falls asleep within 5-10 minutes unless she's fighting her sleep...then she cries her little lungs. So anywho, any co-sleepers out there?

Re: Co-sleeping?

  • Me.... swore i would never do it but my daughter wouldn't sleep any other way. She's a 5 months and still sleeping with us... hopefully by 6 months we're going to start trying to move to her crib. On one hand i cant wait to have my bed back on ghe the other hand i love snuggling up with her every night.

  • I love snuggling in bed with LO. We cosleep from about 5-7 in the morning until 8, when I get up (LO wakes up around that time and has trouble falling asleep in crib again).

I'm a firm believer in doing whatever it takes to get and keep LO asleep, so don't feel bad about cosleeping - whatever works for you!
  • We have been co sleeping since birth. We have a crib attached to my side of the bed. Baby slept in there for a week or so then we moved him in with us into our bed. We love sleeping with him and don't see why he should be by himself. He loves bedtime with us, it's obvious from how he behaves. We go to bed, he 'chats' for a while before I give him his night boob and within minutes he falls asleep. The past week I have been putting him back in his bed attached to ours. He is so cute, wiggling his way as close to me as possible. This morning I found him with his legs and arm hanging over onto my bed! I will keep him in our room/bed for as long as possible. Whatever makes him happy :-)
  • Yep! My LO sleeps about the first 3 hours in her crib and then she's in bed with us! Someday I'll have space again, but I'm enjoying the snuggles
  • @FatPony we do the same thing. Lo sleeps the majority of the night in her crib but when she wakes up at 4 i bring her to my bed so we can both get another 2 hours of sleep
  • Baby doesn't even know what a crib is. She's always slept in her bassinet because its nice and flat and I was able to have her right next to the bed when she slept. We use her crib as storage because she has so much stuff I don't know where else to put it!

Haha, same here! His crib is loaded with clothes and toys!
  • @AiramJ oh goodness! x) Thank God I'm not the only one haha

Lol! Us too! Her bouncer and extra blankets are in it. It's so cute too. We painted it purple! I think we are going to try naps in it soon.... Maybe....
  • we have coslept since birth as well! being a ftm and obviously super worried about all the horror stories out there (never good to read too much on the internet) hubby, baby and I all slept so much better. the past 2 weeks our LO has been sleeping majority of the night in his crib. I miss the all night snuggles but I do enjoy being able to roll around in my bed without worry. some nights he only lasts a few hours and I'm still totally okay with that.
what ever makes life work for you and your family is what matters! keep it up mommas
  • We have been co-sleeping since birth! We had a little crib in our room but the room sometimes got cold so we decided to put him in bed with us. He's going to be 5 months on the 20th. By 6 months tho his grandpa is going to make a crib to attach to the bed. We love it tho. It feels so good when he turns either to me or my husband and hugs our faces. I just want to enjoy it as much as possible because once they get big they hate the hugs lol
  • We just stopped co-sleeping. I hired a sleep coach and now we got her to sleep in the crib next to our bed. Im a little sad that she's not in bed with me....but then i realize i can spread out and its pretty nice. Plus she's much more rested since I'm not waking her up every time i need to get up for something. And she's only an arms reach from me!
  • I co sleep in the mornings and her major nap time. I loved naps. My husband was against it at first but realized quickly that she would sleep longer and better. Now he is all for it and tells his mom that its what best for our family. I love the snuggles.
  • @cbolton19 same here! I love the snuggles and when she tries to get closer to me! She is doing this new thing where she starts rolling over on her side and falls asleep but I'm like "get back on that back fool!"

Hah! Love it! I love when she searches for me. It's the best!
  • @queenval27 and @cbolton19, totally agree with both of you! I was terrified of cosleeping when DS was a newborn so we never did it then (he also slept through the night from about 3 weeks-14 weeks). Once he started waking a couple times throughout the night DH and I decided to give cosleeping a try, and I'm loving it! The snuggles are so precious, and I love knowing that when he starts to stir he only wants his momma. It's so sweet how he searches for me and if he doesn't feel me he immediately opens his eyes and looks up for my face. So sweet. I'm a total stickler about the back still! He always rolls into me a little bit when he nurses, so sometimes (most of the time) I'll wait until he falls back asleep and position him back on his back. Lol
  • Omg the searching is the most adorable!! I was nursing my son at 3am. He fell asleep so I put him back in his bed but he woke up and shuffled himself back to me. I have been finding him with his legs in my bed recently!
  • ^love his star bedding :)
  • Thank you ;) I have a unhealthy obsession with stars!
  •  I swore I never would but ended up cosleeping because she had severed reflux and that was the only way I felt safe. Once she got about 3.5 months the reflux got better. Now she's 5 months and won't sleep with us. I sure do miss her snuggling with me some nights!
