Hi this is my first pregnancy and i got told today that therebis low amniotic fluid . and of course i googled it and got scared so has this happened to anyone else and everything be fine im going crazy
Google is your worst enemy. Have you talked to your OB? They should be able to calm your fears.
I've heard of it before, though never experienced it. I think it's something they'll keep an eye on. Try not to worry too much. I know that's hard but it won't help.
If your OB told you that you have low fluid levels I'm sure they must've given you information on what that means and a plan of action, no? What did the Dr say? I know that fluid levels can fluctuate depending on hydration status if that helps at all. Hope you got some answers from your OB. GL.
I don't have experience with this personally, but my best friend was told this while she was pregnant and was instructed to drink more water and they kept an eye on it. She and her baby boy turned out completely fine!
I feel if your OB found it to be a major concern they would provide you with a plan of action to resolve it. Other than that, perhaps keep yourself more hydrated as I know that affects the amniotic levels as you need to keep hydrated as the fluid is replenished like every couple of hours I believe, but I'm not sure on the exact timeframe of it. Call your OB if you're concerned and they should be able to calm your fears.
I was admitted to the hospital with DS1 after I had low fluid at 36 weeks. It was a hydration issue and I just had an IV for 24 hours. Is yours amniotic fluid? I was told I was going to be induced early if it was amniotic and I was actually leaking.
My sister in law was diagnosed as having low amniotic fluid levels later on in her pregnancy. She was monitored weekly for her levels (for safety purposes) and ended up delivering her baby approximately 3 weeks early (which could or could not have been coincidence).
My anatomy scan said I had low fluid with DD, but I wasn't told until my next appointment. My OB did another u/s at my next appointment and said that there was plenty of fluid.
I agree with PP. if your doctor was the one to mention it s/he would have given you more information on it.
