Rant. So I finally had my 12 week scan. I begged to have a blood draw for the AFP, beta whatever, and PPA something. No. I had to get the fricken finger stick. I hate that. For that much blood just draw half a vial. Sheesh. My finger still hurts and my whole fingernail is bruised. Yuck. Then the MFM doc came in an hour late, turning our 2 hour appt into a 3 hour (but she was covering for a doc unexpectedly out and she gave us an ultrasound picture frame as a thank you for waiting, which was nice but I feel like all of the ultrasound pics were really blurry or at odd angles so I may just wait for the 20 week) and she harped on my due date. WTF? I conceived with the help of a fertility treatment center. As in, daily or every other day bloodwork and ultrasound to watch as my body geared for ovulation and then to confirm I actually ovulated. So what's the problem? Oh yea, I grow big baby BOYS who always measure way ahead of their due date. They thought I would ovulate that Saturday or Sunday, Dec 19-20 but no, my ovary took the weekend off and BAM, first thing Monday morning on Dec 21st the pain started up again full force. Ultrasound that morning confirmed I hadn't yet ovulated and I would have to return Wed. Pain finally stopped Monday night, did it Tuesday morning, HPT was neg 03Jan16 (12-13 dpo) and pos 04Jan16 (13-14 dpo). It doesn't get any clearer than that. So I stated my case and she went on and on about my LMP and that last graduation ultrasound at the fertility clinic at 8 weeks saying due date was 09Sep16 instead of my suggested 12Sep16. Nope, and nope. Baby was growing more than expected every week and they were always surprised. And at the 12 week they were seeing 08Sep16. Unfortunately my fertility clinic opted to only send the last visit, not weeks 5-7 also which some of them stated like 11-12 Sep. Ugh. So she harped on dates and said its unreliable to go by ovulation because you can ovulate 2-3 days on either side of that and she was trying to justify LMP (again so wrong). There was no winning with her. So now we wait for her to get in contact the fertility clinic.

So ever since I was a little girl I've dreamt of being pregnant, in labor, pushing out a baby. And in random places- my cousins childhood home in the pool in his backyard, while driving, in the shower, anywhere and rarely a hospital. It usually correlated With my stomach hurting due to diarrhea or period cramps. But they were always so real. Like screaming at the doctors that I wanted the epidural but being told it was too late and the head was already out. With my first I wanted an unmedicated, natural birthing center delivery. I got a planned c section. And the dreams have continued but now instead of being traumatic and crazy pain, I just know I'm in labor, it's hurts a bit, I push through it and baby is in my arms. So easy. I'm usually all proud of myself like "wow, I could do that real easy" when in reality I'll never get to Experience actually giving birth. Weird that I would dream it so much for my whole life..

How many weeks today? 18, time is going by fast!

Rants/ Raves/ Symptoms? I had some annoying cramping last week and ended up calling the doctor a few times. They aren't sure what the reason was, but said as long as there is no bleeding that it doesn't seem to be anything to worry about. The one day it lasted for 8 hours straight! I've tried upping my water intake. I'm thinking it's just lots of growing/stretching, but it was really freaking me out.

Now waiting on feeling baby! I felt something this weekend a few times but I'm not 100% convinced it was baby.

GTKY: Do you ever dream of labor or delivery? Are there recurrent themes? Hmm... I had one or two dreams and I am pretty positive they were very far from reality. The only live birth I have witnessed was one of my clients (I'm a social worker) and it was her 9th baby, so her labor was pretty short. I have been reading stories and trying to brace myself for a terrible labor just in case haha.

Rants/ Raves/ Symptoms? Achey in my abdomen today. So excited to be almost half way there!

GTKY: Do you ever dream of labor or delivery? Are there recurrent themes? No dreams of labor or delivery. Not dreaming very vividly right now, which I'm ok with. We just moved so I feel like I'm really tired and just sleeping hard.

How big is baby? An onion!

Rants/Rave/Symptoms: I, like PPs, have had some cramping and pain in my lower abdomen. I think it's just growing pains too because I've been drinking a lot of water. But it is scary! Other than that I've felt good for the most part. My nausea has gotten a lot better. I took my OB's suggestion and weened off the medication and just started eating more and drinking more water. It's helped a lot. I also suck on pepper mints if I get hit with a random wave.

GTKY: I haven't dreamed of labor yet but I have been dreaming of having the actual child. It's always a girl and she looks like me (which is unrealistic because the baby will look exactly like DH just like all babies in that family do) and she's a toddler instead of a baby. They're very vivid and make me happy. Makes me curious if I may be carrying a girl. Will be interesting to find out.

Like other PP I have been having Round Ligament Pain in addition to random cramping. I had cramping for about two days and then I woke up and my bump had literally grown 3x as big overnight!

DH has dreamed of me giving birth but I haven't yet!

Rants/ Raves/ Symptoms? I'm starting to definitely show (3rd child). I can't wait until my next appointment at 16week, just to hear little peanut's heartbeat and get the anatomy scan scheduled!

GTKY: Do you ever dream of labor or delivery? Are there recurrent themes? I just had a dream last night about delivering (vaginally - although all my kids have been c/s) and it was a GIRL! I was very surprised, since I "think" this is a boy... but only time will tell.

Rants/ Raves/ Symptoms? Went to see a surgeon about my gallstones. The dr said I have two options remove now or try to wait after baby is born but rusk infection. If I do surgery now I risk pre term labor losing baby I'm tied I just don't know what to do....

Rant: round ligament pains... ouch! I've had a cold for the last few days and it hurts so bad every time I blow my nose!

Rave: I think I felt one of the babies moving around in there last week, but I haven't felt it again since, so I don't know! I'm ready to feel them kicking around in there!

Symptoms: I'm hungry all the time. All... the... time.

Ok I guess I'm the only weird one that always dreams of labor and delivery regardless of being pregnant. :-/

I guess it was my mind's way of giving me something I would otherwise never have!

Rants/ Raves/ Symptoms? I'm back to being tired and wanting naps this week. I've also been a little more irritable than usual.

Raves (sort of). I've thought I've felt some movement for a little while, but I'm not sure. I'm really gassy this week and I just never know if it's that or the baby.

GTKY: Do you ever dream of labor or delivery? Are there recurrent themes? Not really. I've had a dream of being with the newborn baby, but I don't remember the actual birth.

I had my gallbladder removed 2 weeks ago at 14w. My doctor gave me an u/s before and after the surgery to see baby moving around and check everything out. I took Tylenol the first day or two. I was very sore but after the first 5 days felt almost back to normal. The pain of the surgery was nothing compared to the pain of a gallstone attack, which was absolutely excruciating.

I know now how stressful it can be, worrying about if it's the right thing to do. PM me if you want to chat. GL!
