I'm just curious for those who have kids what their names are? Have you decided on a name for current baby? If you haven't decided do you have a style?
We haven't decided on a name for this baby yet as we have to see their face before we decide. We don't know if this baby is a boy or girl yet. For a boy I'm leaning towards Shane or Seamus. Girls, I have no idea. Girl names are hard for my husband and I to agree.
I don't know if we have a style but we tend to steer away from unique/creative/made up names.
DDs name is Elizabeth janelle. Janelle is my moms middle name. If we have a boy his name will be Emmett David, david is after both of our grandpas. If we have a girl I like the name Isabella Marie, marie after my grandma but DH and I haven't decided on anything.
DS is Joshua. We have a few name ideas but aren't settled on one. Even with DS we had two possible boy names and no girl names going to the hospital (we were team green). DH came up with a girl name while eating dinner as I was in labor lol
we want to name our baby after some relatives who have passed away (a Jewish tradition) but will also consider a name we just like. Our style is mostly traditional. If it's a popular name then it's because it's been around 100s if not 1000s of years. Though I admit one or two names we've tossed around for this one are more trendy names.
No name yet but a long list of boy and girl options. Hopefully we will find out the sex in a couple weeks so we can begin narrowing down. We have a lot of classic names on the list this time around.
No kids yet. Still undecided, but want to name the baby after one of our grandparents. We have the letters B, G, L, M and T to work with... any suggestions?
My boys are Chase Allen and Karter Jacob. Their middle names are parts of my husband's name. I was hoping for a girl this time to carry on my Grandmother's name, or mine and my mom's middle name, but since we are apparently having another boy, we have decided on the name Colin. My nephew actually gave us that idea! We have no idea on the middle name yet, although DH thinks it would be cool for the baby to have the initials CCR, or CAR, like our oldest... I;ve never been one to think I'll name all my kids with the same letter, or sound (We spelled Karter with a K just to be different) but I find it odd that we are going with a C name again. LOL
DS1 is Nathan Russell (first name is shared with DH and middle name is shared with my grandfather) DS2 is Jared Henry (middle name is shared with DH)
DD's 3&4 will be Evelyn Judy and Lorelei Elizabeth (at least that is what we have decided at this point!) middle names are still up in the air but after my grandmother and my middle name.
Our daughter is Emily Samantha. This one is a boy. DH had a name crush on Adam and I like Seth. We'll probably go with Adam because Emily was my pick for our daughter. Henry is another name that I love, but doesn't work with our last name. We'll most likely use Henry for the middle name, so Adam Henry is the safest bet.
BFP 02/03/12, EDD 10/13/12, Missed m/c 03/15/12 @9w5d (measured 7w1d) They weren't kidding when they said "Beware the Ides of March"
FTM and having a very hard time with boys names. For years I've had girls names I liked. Quinn Diane, or Mia Diane. (Diane is my moms name and she passed away 16 years ago)
names ive tossed around for LO is Liam, Colin, Dylan, and Grayson. Nothing has that "this is it factor" for me.
DD is Charlotte Julianne - I've always loved the name Charlotte, even way before it became popular, and Julianne is the name of my sister who passed away when she was a baby. We just found out that this baby is a boy and we were just casually talking about it and I think we actually settled on the name Nicholas - we didn't mean to decide so quickly, but we were going through possibilities, which are actually sort of limited given the style that we go for, and this one just seemed to "fit" when we said it. My front runner was William, but DH has an uncle William and you can't name people after someone who is still living in his religion - not that he'd be named after him because I just simply like the name, but people would assume. My other front runner is Andrew, but DH's current boss is Andrew, and he just can't get past that, so I totally understand. It could change, but right now Nicholas just feels right as we've been talking more about it and using the name in sentences lol. His middle name is undecided, but it will likely be a family name of some sort or maybe my maiden name, which I'm warming up to the more I think about it.
Clearly, we go for very classic traditional names. I try to think of how it will look on a resume some day. I also like regal names, so my requirement is that there was a Queen/King or Prince/Princess with the name somewhere in history. There aren't many trendy girl names that I like, but there are a lot of trendy boy names, but once they're no longer little boys I just couldn't imagine some of the popular names on grown men.
DH is from Africa, so our kids have african middle names. Liam Mugavu Tristan Kisembo and still working on name for Baby#3... i posted a potential middle name in the name feedback discussion and waiting on feedback.
Married - 4/7/07 Son #1- 2/15/08 Son #2- 8/18/10 Baby 3 due 8/8/16
We are having a girl and we have decided on Lucy Elizabeth. We both fell in love with the name Lucy some time ago. Elizabeth is a family name on DH's side.
DS- Brooks Red DD- Georgia Joy My husband likes the name Dayton for a boy... but he comes from a small town named Dayton (in MN). So not sure if that will fly. No real girl names. We like older southern names it looks like. LOL Nothing too crazy, but still not a lot of people in our area have the same name.

Ds1: Aiden Robert (Aiden I loved, Robert is after my dad). DS2: Charlie Blaine (Charlie was his great grand father's name. And Blaine I thought was different) DD1: Skylar Hope (we both loved the name Skylar and she earned Hope when I had to have an emergency surgery at 27 weeks pregnant, long story but luckily she stayed put). Now this next baby we found out is a girl and we are naming her Gabby Lynne (after her great grandmother and grandmother)
FTM. Found out at 12 weeks this baby is a girl. Her name will be Willa Louise. Willa for my favorite author, Willa Cather, and Louise for my grandma.
Although, hubby has started calling the baby Willa instead of "the baby" or "it" and I've tried it out once or twice. But, every time I say it or hear it out loud, it sounds really weird to me. Like it doesn't taste right, for lack of a better way to put it. We haven't even considered other names, so I'm hoping it's just the newness of actually having a name to go with the baby.

I can relate to what you are saying. We decided on Dorothy May after my husbands grandmother. We shared the news with her and she cried. There is no going back. So now we call her Dorothy and it seems so weird. I think it's bc we found out the sex and settled on a name so much sooner than with our first. After a week it's feel a bit more normal but still sounds funny.
DD is Kayla Adrianna. DH loved Kaylee but that name was taken by my aunt. He fell in love with the name Kayla and I loved Adrianna. We are still undecided on baby girl #2. I really like Piper and Mila.
My son is David James. David is my fathers name, and James is my husbands middle name. We had planned on using DJ as a nickname, but he is 4 and it hasn't stuck yet. We like to meet the baby before making a final decision. For my son we had a few top favorites but William was the number 1 for most of the pregnancy, but for some reason when we held him, my husband and I agreed William just didn't fit! And we love the name we landed on, so really it's all meant to be!
Just found out this baby is a girl. We have always had Charlotte Jane in mind for a girl. Charlotte is my husbands mothers name, and Jane is my mothers middle name. So that is the top runner (and no we are not telling family that yet, just in case!) We don't love that Charlotte has gotten so popular, but hey our son is David and that name is EVERYWHERE! so I guess it's fine. My husband loves the nick name Charlie for a girl, so that will be the go to nick name.
Can't wait to meet her and make it all final! August will be here before we know it.
Ok, feedback on a girls name of Harper Grey??? I personally love Harper and when we were looking for a middle name, we found out that my boyfriends grandfather (whom he adored) had a middle name of Grey. Think its too boyish???

I think you're fine. Both names are shift way more toward the girls now.

I can't help think about Grey's Anatomy... There is a Harper Avery award on the show and obviously Meredith Grey. I like the name otherwise!

At this point I'd assume Harper is a girl, but paired with grey makes it kinda ambiguous, since I see it all the time on boys as a middle and as Grayson/Greyson as a first name.
So, personally I'd choose an overtly feminine name for the middle. Perhaps grandma or a feminine form of Grandpa's first name? (I.e. if he was Oliver use Olive or Olivia, Joseph use Josephine, etc)

Baby #2: Emmeline Grey - August 2016
Baby #3: BFP 9/7/18 | EDD 05/24/19
Right now our front runner for DS2 is Emmett John. John was my grandfather.
We we like traditional names that aren't too common. Middle names have to have special meaning.
BFP #2 8/22/12 | EDD 5/5/13 | DS1 born 5/9/13

LeRoy is my Hubbys first name
names ive tossed around for LO is Liam, Colin, Dylan, and Grayson. Nothing has that "this is it factor" for me.
baby will be Nora Lee if a girl, not sure on boy names!
we are having another girl. She will be named after her great grandmother - Dorothy May
DD is Cecily Lucia. #2 will likely be Iris Aurora or Lochlan Theodore.
I like old-fashioned, somewhat unusual names, but they have to be real names. I dislike "made-up" names.
BFP #1: 08/17/2012 DD1 born 05/01/2013
BFP #2: 07/31/2015 M/C 09/23/2015 (11.5 weeks)
