Hey ladies!!! So i do not plan on being induced but obviously there's not much else I can do if i go over 2 weeks. Im just curious, I've heard so many women tell me that getting induced with pitocin makes labor much worse but my midwife told me that pitocin was actually very good. Nobody can seem to give me details though!

does anyone know why getting induced is so much worse? And how I can prevent it? Thanks so much in advance !
Re: Induction
There's nothing guaranteed that you can do to prevent, but assuming you're not due til April since you're posting on this board, you've got some time yet.
With baby #2 I ended with c/s because baby was breech, but I went into labor spontaneously. I was in labor for several hours and dilated to 5-6cm before they got me into the OR. I was barely in any pain up to that point. I was easily walking and talking through contractions and hospital staff wasn't even convinced I was in active labor until they observed me for an hour and I dilated 3cm in that time. Obviously I have no idea what it would have felt like as labor progressed or after my water broke, but the early labor was definitely way easier than my induction.

I didn't notice any difference between the regular contractions and the ones on Pit other than that they went back to being every 3-4 minutes instead of 8-10. The pain factor increased, but at about the same rate as it had before; slowly but steadily getting worse as I got closer to delivery.

Baby #2 due 4/26/16!
I don't remember the labor with pitocin being bad at all. I got an epidural though. I fell asleep for an hour....woke up, realized the baby was RIGHT THERE, called for the nurse and doc and out she came. It was pretty easy honestly.
There isn't anything you can do to avoid being induced. The longer you can go without being induced, the chances are better that your cervix will be favorable for the induction and things might be a tad easier.
